$25 Gift Card Give-A-Way

I know that I have a lot of followers that love seeing before and after photos
of old items restored and repurposed.

Well this is our newest project.

Together Steve and I are going to be working on it
with the goal of having it in the water and ready to sail by June.
We have our work cut out for us, don’t you think?

Steve will be posting our progress on his blog.
Along with this he is going to be having a Give-A-Way.
Between now & April  15th . . .
if you follow his blog and leave a comment,
You could win an Amazon gift card for $25.00
Now that's a great prize, don't you think?

I am delighted to help Steve increase his followers,

He is the love of my life, a great Husband, Dad & Grandpa.

Please check out his blog . . . I think this re-do is going to be a fun adventure.

Just wait and see how gorgeous our little

“Gypsy Rose”

will be . . .  I named her, what do you think?

Fits her, right?

  1. Hi Connie,

I love the patina on the boat hull (is that the right word?). I will pop over to your husband's site and become a follower, if I'm not already. I know I've visited him in the past.

I can't wait to see the progress of this amazing Gypsy Rose!

    Peace,
    Kay

    1. Hi Kay, she is going to be fun to re-do. I have some fun ideas for the cabin, it is small but I want to make it have a little bit of a gypsy flare. Thanks for entering, Steve can use the encouragement, then again we all can, right? Good luck :)

  6. Hi Connie,

I think you must have been reading my blog when I was reading yours! I was eating, so I was just reading and not commenting until after I finished my meal. I'm alone for awhile this evening. My Shug had a tractor to go look at. I LOVE your boat! LOVE. And that picture of the girl on the ocean with her hat in her hand...that's me! Or maybe I'm just wishing it's me! I need ocean. And R&R! OK off to see your sailor! Or is he the Captain? I think I'm already a follower though...but I shall check out his blog and leave a comment.

  8. A big undertaking but I am sure with you two that the boat will turn out so nice! Have you ever attended the Pt. Huron to Mackinaw Sailboat race in July? We are from there and I love to go back and view the boats all docked along the river. Enjoy yours! Nancy

    1. Hi Nancy, no we never have gone to that race, but I'll just bet it is a sight to see. The first sailboat that I was ever on was a fixer-upper that a friend owned. It did not have a mast, but he found a fallen tree and made his own. I fell in love with sailing on that first time out. It was a few years after Steve and I married, and we decided that very day that we would have one of our own, one day. Gypsy Rose will be our fourth and probably our last :) . . . but who knows.

    1. Hi Fran, She is going to be a lot of work, I already have about 25 hours of sanding in and there is still more to do. The sand paper is wearing away my guitar calluses and now it hurts my fingers to play . . . Oh, well I'll just have to suffer until I have them callused up again :) I don't know about the walking around three times . . . if it is a bad luck thing, I really don't need to know. What is it they say, "if it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all". My dad was superstitious enough for the whole family, LOL.
Thanks for visiting. I know that you already follow Steve, but be sure and visit and leave a comment . . . Good Luck (there's that luck thing again) on the drawing :)

  34. Conny congratulations for the wonderful years you have been married. I love the comment you left on my blog about how the bible verse has been part of your life, I know He strengthens us all. Your boat looks like it's really going to be a labour of love indeed and finished by JUNE! good luck with that :) I adore your bright painting as well. My hubby doesn't blog but I will let him know about your husbands. He would love a shed full of tools to play with & create things it's just out of our reach. Have a wonderful weekend Dxx

    1. Hello Dawn, it is great to get a visit from you and yes, June is our goal. It has been raining the last two days so the boat is tarped down and no work went on yesterday or today, but I do have about 25 hours of sanding already done. The hardest part for me is repairing the finishes to be oiled and painted. Then working on the kneel and the rudder (those will be totally Steve's jobs....I know nothing about mechanics. If we don't get a lot of rain, I think we'll have it by June . . . time will tell :)
      Have a lovely weekend.

  45. The last sailboat that we owned . . . we are still morning the day we sold her. We didn't reaize just how much we loved that boat until it was gone. We bought a cabin cruiser, and at this very moment we have for sale signs on it. We are so ready to be sailing again :)
