Having fun at the sewing machine.
I love making something
that is freestyle
so I started by drawing a picture.
Then I started cutting and sewing.
It's so freeing when there are no rules
and you can just create as you go.
After mounting this quilt
and placing it on the mantle
I decided to make some coasters
to scatter around the living room.
Again no rules π
A little bit Piggly,
A little bit Wiggly
&
And a lot of fun.
Connie, you do the most amazing things! I would not have the confidence.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't take confidence; what you and your sewing machine do together stays between the two of you. If it turns out terrible you never show it to anyone and you never post it on your blog. The bad results turn into dusting rags LOL.
DeleteIt's beautiful! You are so creative!
ReplyDeleteI was just having fun :)
DeleteThese are amazing. I love the quilt and am fascinated by it. The coasters are fantastic as well. So fun.
ReplyDeleteThe nice thing about sunflowers is I can have that up until after Thanksgiving and start decorating for Christmas :)
DeleteOh my goodness! These colors and flowers are feasts for the eyes! You are an artist my friend!
ReplyDeleteYou're so sweet, thank you :)
DeleteSo beautiful! I love the freedom and the happiness that this shows. I miss the big fields of sunflowers around Spokane in the summer. We're planning on a visit in August and hope to see some then. Usually there is a HUGE field up around Deer Park. :-)
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
Hi Betsy, there's something about sunflowers that just makes you happy, they're so cheerful. Thanks for stopping by :)
DeleteWow absolutely gorgeous. You can't look at that and not smile. You are so talented.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I hope it makes people smile when they look at it that would be great:)
DeletePigley, wigley, and certainly fun!

Deletelove your creativity and use of scraps, Connie! Well done♥
ReplyDeleteI love you using up little scraps.
DeleteI love your latest creations! They'll be brightening up your livingroom for months to come.
ReplyDelete( I have the same little white ceramic bird).
Birds of a feather. I'm sure we have a lot in common. Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comment I love reading them.
DeleteOh wow your quilt is outstanding, so creative and beautifully done. I love that you carried the theme to some coasters too, they are lovely!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice when you can just go to your scrap pile and leftover fabrics and do a little something to make your home seasonal. Especially when it's fun doing it and this was a lot of fun.
DeleteThese are absolutely gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much π
DeleteHi Connie, this is incredibly beautiful. I have such a passion for both sunflowers and bright colors, so I'm especially loving it. And I also enjoyed looking down your blog at your yard and your sweet dog. Thanks for coming to visit me at Marmelade Gypsy.
ReplyDeleteThank you for returning the visit and for your sweet comment.
DeleteConnie, I love your sunflowers! So pretty and inspiring.
ReplyDeleteThank you, that's sweet to hear :)
DeleteConnie, the sunflowers are beautiful!! I love every one of them. You work wonders with a few pieces of fabric! I don't have even one sunflower growing in the garden this year. Wonder if it is too late to plant a seed or two. Think I'll try.
ReplyDeleteOh, I don't think it's too late at all. Plant it now and it'll be blooming in August π»π»π»π»π»π»π»
DeleteYour talent is impressive! I love the sunflower design.
ReplyDeleteThank you Michelle, I had a lot of fun working on this. It's so freeing when you just take scraps and create as you go. If it ends up not turning out the way you want it to it'll always make some cheerful dusting rags π»ππ»
DeleteWow! Wow! Wow, Connie, breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteI came over to see if you'd posted and I found this gorgeous colorful sunflower quilt! You never cease to amaze me! How fun to just free yourself to do anything you want! The coasters are adorable too. I have gotten WAY too structured in my crafting and need to loosen up about. You have inspired me! Lots of love, Marilyn
ReplyDeleteMarilyn it is so much more fun when you loosen up and leave structure completely out of your creativity. Remember when you were a child and you had your crayons out, it was okay to color a dog blue and a cat pink everything you drew or colored was beautiful. Life was fun and free. I remember making dolls out of hollyhock flowers, did you ever do that? Oh and adding colorful flower petals to decorate mud pies. When did we get so structured . . . it a shame :(
DeleteConnie, I never made dolls out of hollyhocks! Sounds like fun! I did make many mud pies either. I think I was too structured even as a child! I did love to color and like you said, colored everything different than in real life. My mud pies were just that, a pie in a little pie tin, and I wanted my mom to bake it for me! Ha ha....... I was sewing at age 6 or so, making clothes for my dolls... sewing by hand and it was so fun to just cut out a shape, hem the edges alittle, and put it on the doll and sew it closed. No snaps or buttons until later. One of these days I'll try a "free form" sewing project I think, as you have inspired me! Hugs.. Marilyn
DeleteSo happy to hear that . . . Free yourself to just have fun with color and pattern.
DeleteWhat can I say....."WOW"!!!
