Still working on this quilt.
I am always amazed at
some of the quilters
that post a new quilt
finish very two weeks.
That is certainly not me.
Seems like mine take
a month, to almost
a year, sometimes. LOL
When do they find the time?
Now I'm trying to decide
how I will finish the
borders.
These are a few layouts.
I take photos of each idea
and then choose, but
I still have a few more to try.
decisions, decisions, decisions!

A scrappy border will look good on that one. That is a block I have only made into table runners. I have enough strips to make a quilt though.

DeleteThat is such a beautiful quilt. How big is it? It looks like it would make a beautiful wall hanging or a "barn quilt" for the side of a barn, only done in wood and painted. Whatever you do with it, I know it will be cherished. It is really beautiful, and is worth the extra time and care you take to make it just right! It really should be framed! I love it. Actually, photographs of it and printed on canvas could be sold online, or pictures of it would make wonderful greeting cards! Just ideas I see when I look at it!! Can't wait to hear what its future will be!!!

DeleteThat would be me. No way could I finish something like that in just a couple weeks. It even took me a month to crochet one blanket. This one is looking really good.

DeleteIn the foyer of one of our big thrift stores there are new quilts displayed and this morning I paused to admire some of them. So beautiful. I think quilting must be so rewarding. I'm amazed that anyone could part with the finished product.

DeleteI think you manage a lot quicker than I do, I have had a quilt almost finished for a couple years now, just needs the border, backing and quilting but I have stopped, probably because my sewing machine area is surrounded by cardmaking items right now :) It is looking great for sure, look forward to seeing what you decide to do with it!
ReplyDeleteYou're very sweet, thank you. I enjoy piecing, the quilting is harder. Just maneuvering that much fabric under my sewing machine is awkward and tiring. I do enjoy hand quilting, but that takes a lot longer and I enjoy quilt as you go. I will be glad when this one is finished. 🥰

DeleteI love this quilt with the colorful scraps you have used. I think I recognize the pattern as one I have used with amore controlled pallet. I love your quilt so much I am digging our a variety of colors from mu overflowing scrap bins. this is just what I need right now. Thank you Connie you are a blessing.
