My Way Of Celebrating Birth

I love having baby quilts

on hand when I hear of

a new birth.

At the moment I had none,

so I've just finished this one for

a little girl and will soon

be planning one for a little boy.

If you quilt or do any sewing,

I want to share one of my favorite

tools with you.

This pen makes a sweet blue line

that disappears the moment water hits it.

It's wonderful for marking quilting lines

to get everything lined up perfectly.

(I purchase them on Amazon)

I made six or seven baby quilts

last year, to give away and donated.

Baby quilts are so much fun to make.

And even more fun to give away๐Ÿ˜Š

This is the front.

This is the back fabric.

Well that's my post.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting.

๐Ÿซ–☕☕☕☕☕๐Ÿซ–

I wish there was a way to put

the kettle on and ask you to

sit awhile and share a pot of tea

or coffee, your choice.

๐Ÿซ–☕☕☕☕☕๐Ÿซ–

God bless you all,

Your blogging sister

Connie :)

  5. Connie, that quilt is adorable. The Mom's who receive one for their new babies must feel so blessed and loved. I always keep a boy and a girl knitted or crocheted blanket ready for any new baby that comes along too. Dennis took 12 baby blankets to the Mom's corner at the Open Door Mission a few weeks ago. I love making baby things. And I would love that cup of tea. You are a blessing to me and many others my friend.
    Blessings and love,
    Betsy

    1. Thank you, your comments encourages me to keep it up . . . That's my intention but I do slow down in the spring and summer when there's gardening to do.

  8. What great quilts those are. And how fun for you to make them and then gift them. I have one of those pens. One end is the water soluble and the other end is disappearing ink that fades after a certain amount of time.

    1. Aren't they very nice though. A friend of mine showed me hers one day and I had to order some for myself. Now almost every time I use it I think of her and do a little silent thank you.

  11. I love the quilts you make. You find the most adorable prints. Makes me wish I sewed ( If I did I would surely want a handy dandy pen like yours). Is there any sign of winter letting up in your area yet?

    1. Even though I live in the northwest part of our country, boardering Canada, we have had a very mild winter. Today our temperature got up in the 50's with sunshine. We have not had a snow cover at all so far this year.
Thank you for your sweet comment on my quilt.

  14. Happy February 11th Connie! Oh your baby quilt is so so sweet and I love the colors! I keep thinking I'm going to start sewing more and make some quilts (small ones) I can donate. Baby quilts and toddler quilts is a great idea. I love the design in the middle and the stripes around the edges. I have one of those pens, but not sure where it is right now. I love it. Mine may be one that disappears with heat... not sure. those are sure handy. I came to check if you had posted and found TWO sweet posts by you! So nice to see. We've had mild weather too.. the other day was sunny, blue sky and 60 degrees! I'm not complaining, though not enough snow in the mountains really. Weather people are saying this coming weekend and the next week may have more snow in the Cascades... I sure hope so! Hope your week is going well! Hugs... Marilyn

    1. Thanks for stopping by Marilyn, it's always great to see that you visited and left a comment. It's really cold here today in the 30s. I was going to go to town but after I went outside and played with Beulah for a while I decided I didn't need anything from the grocery store and would eat what I had. There really wasn't anything I needed, just things that sounded good. Our winter has been really mild but this old body is just ready for warm sunny weather the kind you can go outside in your shirt sleeves in. Even though I'm going to make my garden smaller this year I did start some tomatoes last week and my pear tomatoes have already sprouted but not the large slicing ones. I guess I have a little bit of a case of spring fever. I just can't wait for it to show its face ๐ŸŒบ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒผ
PS I'm glad you like my quilt.
