I love having baby quilts
on hand when I hear of
a new birth.
At the moment I had none,
so I've just finished this one for
a little girl and will soon
be planning one for a little boy.
If you quilt or do any sewing,
I want to share one of my favorite
tools with you.
This pen makes a sweet blue line
that disappears the moment water hits it.
It's wonderful for marking quilting lines
to get everything lined up perfectly.
(I purchase them on Amazon)
I made six or seven baby quilts
last year, to give away and donated.
Baby quilts are so much fun to make.
And even more fun to give awayπ
This is the front.
This is the back fabric.
Well that's my post.
Thanks for stopping by and visiting.

I wish there was a way to put
the kettle on and ask you to
sit awhile and share a pot of tea
or coffee, your choice.

God bless you all,
Your blogging sister
Connie :)

Those quilts are treasures and I know any mom that gets one will keep it for her baby forever!

Well thank you very much, Mary P from Illinois. It's nice to have you visit and leave a comment.
DeleteYour baby quilt is so pretty, and will certainly be much appreciated I'm sure, I'll have a coffee thanks, when I come to visit and chat with you.
ReplyDeleteJenny I would love it if you were able to truly visit. I would welcome you with a big hug π€
DeleteOh this is beautiful - you are very talented. And kind!
ReplyDeleteAnd you're very sweet.
DeleteConnie, that quilt is adorable. The Mom's who receive one for their new babies must feel so blessed and loved. I always keep a boy and a girl knitted or crocheted blanket ready for any new baby that comes along too. Dennis took 12 baby blankets to the Mom's corner at the Open Door Mission a few weeks ago. I love making baby things. And I would love that cup of tea. You are a blessing to me and many others my friend.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and love,
Betsy
I know how you are always making beautiful baby blankets to give away. You've inspired me to do the same.
DeleteSo, thank you π
Every baby needs their very own quilt, and whoever receives this one will be a very lucky little girl! This is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteQuilts like this are a keepsake for any mom.
ReplyDeleteThank you, your comments encourages me to keep it up . . . That's my intention but I do slow down in the spring and summer when there's gardening to do.
DeleteWhat great quilts those are. And how fun for you to make them and then gift them. I have one of those pens. One end is the water soluble and the other end is disappearing ink that fades after a certain amount of time.
ReplyDeleteOh, mine is only the blue; yours sounds much more sophisticated. They certainly are a help in many different kinds of projects.
DeleteI've got a blue pen like yours Connie! Sometimes it fades too quickly!
ReplyDeleteAren't they very nice though. A friend of mine showed me hers one day and I had to order some for myself. Now almost every time I use it I think of her and do a little silent thank you.
DeleteBeautiful and I'm sure they will be treasured!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Karen. That's very sweet of you.
DeleteI love the quilts you make. You find the most adorable prints. Makes me wish I sewed ( If I did I would surely want a handy dandy pen like yours). Is there any sign of winter letting up in your area yet?
ReplyDeleteEven though I live in the northwest part of our country, boardering Canada, we have had a very mild winter. Today our temperature got up in the 50's with sunshine. We have not had a snow cover at all so far this year.
DeleteThank you for your sweet comment on my quilt.
What a wonderful and thoughtful thing to do. The quilt is just precious.
ReplyDeleteThank you Nonie. It's just something that I can do. We all have things that we can do, to put a smile on another person's face. I'm sure you are doing sweet things for others all the time. We all do π
DeleteConnie - that quilt is absolutely gorgeous - anyone would be so lucky and blessed to receive it! Wow π§΅
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet thing to say, believe my quilting is made with love, but my skills are so far from perfect. I am delighted that you like it π€
DeleteHappy February 11th Connie! Oh your baby quilt is so so sweet and I love the colors! I keep thinking I'm going to start sewing more and make some quilts (small ones) I can donate. Baby quilts and toddler quilts is a great idea. I love the design in the middle and the stripes around the edges. I have one of those pens, but not sure where it is right now. I love it. Mine may be one that disappears with heat... not sure. those are sure handy. I came to check if you had posted and found TWO sweet posts by you! So nice to see. We've had mild weather too.. the other day was sunny, blue sky and 60 degrees! I'm not complaining, though not enough snow in the mountains really. Weather people are saying this coming weekend and the next week may have more snow in the Cascades... I sure hope so! Hope your week is going well! Hugs... Marilyn
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Marilyn, it's always great to see that you visited and left a comment. It's really cold here today in the 30s. I was going to go to town but after I went outside and played with Beulah for a while I decided I didn't need anything from the grocery store and would eat what I had. There really wasn't anything I needed, just things that sounded good. Our winter has been really mild but this old body is just ready for warm sunny weather the kind you can go outside in your shirt sleeves in. Even though I'm going to make my garden smaller this year I did start some tomatoes last week and my pear tomatoes have already sprouted but not the large slicing ones. I guess I have a little bit of a case of spring fever. I just can't wait for it to show its face πΊπ±πΌ
DeletePS I'm glad you like my quilt.
Oh my that is so sweet, how lucky these mothers and babies are to get one of your quilts. I used those pens too in my quilting :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Connie I'm happy you like it. It was fun making it and putting all that pink fabric together.
DeleteYour baby quilts are lovely and such a thoughtful way to celebrate new life. I appreciate you sharing your favorite quilting tool too. It’s always helpful to hear tips from someone experienced. Thank you for the warm invitation; it feels like a visit with a kind friend.
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon Melody, I'm thrilled that you stopped by and left a comment. I love your first name your mama did good ❤️. I do enjoy quilting a lot but after making several large ones I thought it was time to get some baby quilts made. It's so much fun to give them away.
DeleteI guess I've been missing your posts, so I came back to see what I've missed...and I LOVE this baby quilt! Blessed is the little baby girl who gets to be wrapped up and covered with this quilt, made with such love!! I love both sides of the quilt. The back fabric is really pretty!!! You are a very talented lady! I wish I lived closer so we could put the kettle on and have a cup of tea together. I would truly enjoy visiting in your lovely home with you!! Thank you for this delightful post!
ReplyDeleteYou are just the sweetest, thank you for your kind words.
