This week I started working
on a project for Spring . . .
To be revealed at a later date.
While I was going
through some old papers
looking for some information
about my sister's birth,
(for her children)
I came across this photo.
It's an old school photo.
my Mom is the tallest girl
in the photo.
I just love that I found this :)

Your blogging sister,
Connie :)

What a treasure to find that photo of your Mom and 5 of her schoolmates. The only picture of my Mom that I have of her as a girl she was in her teens but is wearing a big old coat which makes her hard to see properly.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious about your Spring project. Seeing the pretty fabric I'm guessing an apron? Maybe another lovely quilt?
I'm excited about my Spring project, but it's a surprise. . . Keep coming back, I'll hopefully have an April finish on it π
DeleteI love the photo with your mom in it.
ReplyDeleteI'll be waiting to hear what you are making. The fabric is beautiful!
I am very happy about finding that photo. Mom looks so pretty.
DeleteI'm having fun with that fabric π₯°
That's such a lovely photo of your mom and the other girls. And I think the fabric and trim for your not-yet-to-be-revealed project is very pretty.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteIt was great finding that photo. My Mom and Dad had a house fire before I was born (I'm the baby in the family) and a lot of their things were destroyed so I'm excited to have this.
What a wonderful photo of your mom!!
ReplyDeleteI agree, I feel blessed to have found it.
DeleteLook forward to seeing what you're working on. What a treasure that photo is.
ReplyDeleteThanks π I'm having fun with my spring surprise. π₯π·πΏ
DeleteOh, I love that you found that picture of your mother with the other school girls! That's definitely a keeper!!! I think I would frame it and hang it where I can see it! And I am wondering if what you are making is another baby quilt, or something for a mature lady to enjoy? I love the fabric! It looks fresh and springy! Can't wait to see the end results! It would be so nice to visit and see it in person!
ReplyDeleteIt would be wonderful if you could walk up and knock on my door. It would give me a reason to bake a cake π₯°
DeleteI love these old photos. Especially where the children are all ages together laughing and smiling. (:
ReplyDeleteMe too πππ€☺️
DeleteYou are using some lovely fabrics!
ReplyDeleteThey are fun to work with, so vibrant and cheerful πΊπ·πΈ
DeleteThat photo is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I'm so glad I found it ☺️
DeleteI love the cheerful colors in your mystery project. :-) It looks like springtime. That is a great photo of your Mom. The dresses look so comfy. I would have fit right in back in those days.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
I blew mom's photo up so I could look to make sure her plaids matched and they did. π€ When I was learning to sell that was something she stressed. Every time you sewed plaid it had to match perfectly in the front, in the back, on the sides and on the sleeves. It used to drive me crazy but it does make for a much nicer garment.
DeleteWhat a treat to come across the old photo.
ReplyDeleteI was delighted.
DeleteWhatever spring project you're working on, it sure has cheery material! How wonderful that you found that photo of your mom. I love the dresses all the women are wearing. Are those your mom's siblings?
ReplyDeleteNo they are her classmates. She went to a little one room schoolhouse with all ages.
DeleteOh my your sneak peak at your project looks gorgeous, love the combo of fabrics you are using.
ReplyDeleteI just love when we come across those things that bring joy, like a wonderful picture from the past, I don't have many of them but I am thrilled with the ones I do have. Have a great weekend!
Thank you Connie and you have a wonderful weekend too.
DeleteThat fabric is absolutely gorgeous. I adore old photos and that really is a lovely one.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I love the photo.
DeleteSuch a sweet find, Connie! That old school photo is such a treasure, and how special that your mom is in it. Little surprises like that make going through old papers worth it. Wishing you a lovely week too, dear blogging sister. Can't wait to see your finished banner.
ReplyDeleteI so happy about finding that photo, it's a treasure for sure π€
DeleteI can't wait to see what you are working on, Connie! That is a wonderful old picture...what a treasure. I hope you have a blessed weekend. Diana
ReplyDeleteThank you Diana. I'm planning a fun day tomorrow. . . Our town is having a Home & Garden show out at the fairgrounds tomorrow and I'm meeting some friends out there. Maybe I'll take some photos, if I remember, LOL.
DeleteLove the old photo. Is that bunting in the making?
ReplyDeleteThanks I love it too. She lived one day short of her 100th birthday π€
DeleteYes, a bunting is part of the reveal π₯°
Your fabrics certainly say spring.
ReplyDeleteI think it's going to be a fun project an one to enjoy all summer . . . Next year too.
DeleteThat's a precious photo, Connie. I'm glad you found it. Are you making aprons? Thanks, too, for stopping by Writing Straight from the Heart and commenting. It was such a deligtht to see you! I hope you have a delightful week ahead.
ReplyDeleteNo, it's not an apron, although that fabric would make a pretty one, wouldn't it π₯°. Thank you for visiting and leaving a comment.
DeleteSuch a wonderful photograph, a real treasure. Are you going to frame it? I look forward to seeing your finished spring project.
ReplyDeleteNot framing it, but putting into a family album. I'm excited to finish my project and start enjoying it. Hope it turns out as nice as I'm hoping.
DeleteHi Connie, I love that your still sewing Quilts and gardening. Have a great day.......Nancy
ReplyDeleteI wish I knew, Nancy who? I'm sure we are old friends, but that anonymous can be confusing. Thank you for stopping by π₯° Happy almost SpringπΌ
DeleteHi again Connie! Your mystery project looks very inviting. I LOVE the pinks and greens.. my fave colors! When I moved here, I didn't do my bedroom in pink and green at all, since I had a pink bedroom in Madras and got kind of tired of it after 9 years. So here, I've had darker tan walls with more gold and teal, which I've enjoyed, but this spring I think I'm craving my pink and green again, so may go back to my pink and green soft pastel quilt on my bed and maybe put up some curtains in pink and green too, plus get a new pictures for over my bed. Nothing better than those colors to get me in the mood for spring! And how wonderful to find that photo! What a treasure. You never know what's lurking in those boxes and bags in our closets! I discovered some old photos of my mom's two cousins (sisters) and information about them in newspaper articles, that I never knew. Found them at my sister's house in her garage! I love those old family pictures. Hope all is going well this week.. and thinking of you often! Hugs... Marilyn
ReplyDeleteMarilyn it's so good to hear from you. Spring is just around the corner and I'm certainly looking forward to it. Sounds like you are too π·♥️π·♥️π·
DeleteI think we are all ready for spring, so when we see your pretty pink fabric, we all get excited.
ReplyDeleteI'm still working on it and hoping to be finished by April 1st. In the meantime I've been doing a little yard work and making some decorations and coasters for March with a St Patty's Day theme. I've started doing this for some of the seasons and holidays and one of these days should have a box that I can just put everything in and pull out the seasons decorations already made. Until then I'll just keep on sewing πͺ‘π§΅πͺ‘π§΅πͺ‘
