Old Geezer Swimming Hole

 This was a little corner of our backyard 

at our old house.

Some of you may remember it.

It's a cattle stock tank that we hooked up a water filter 

and pump to, and made a cooling off spot for

 hot summer days.

We called it our "Red Neck Hot Tub"

even though it was cool water. 

Well when we moved . . . 

we packed up our stock tank and bought it along. 

Last week Steve and I built this fence 

around this area behind the well house.

It's at the back of our property

and nice and private:)

There are a lot of weeds and bare spots, 

but in time we'll have grass growing.

I've also planted sunflowers, zinnias,

 morning glories and a delphinium back there.

The delphinium is small, 

but with lots of love hopefully it will be a show stopper 

in a year or two and fill up this corner.

 This is the entrance.

That is a trumpet vine in the planter.

When it gets bigger, I'll be asking my Steve

to build a trellis and gate.

See the little deck . . .

I built that last Wednesday afternoon.  

Then surrounded it with logs from

two trees that we cut down last summer.

They make a place to sit and they hide the pool pump:)

Did you notice the bike in the background.

I want to turn it into one of those adorable planters 

that you see on Pinterest. 

I think that they are so pretty.

Well, I don't want to call it our redneck hot tub anymore . . .

I think I will call it,

The Old Geezer Swimming Hole.

I'll take another photo of this space 

after all the flowers start to bloom 

and the grass is filled in.

I think it is going to be a great place 

for the two old geezers that live here 

to cool off after mowing the yard and weeding the garden.
