I had the most relaxing weekend
that I have had in a very long time.
It started with hitting local Yard Sales.
This is my car trunk:)
This is my major find.
I was trying to decide whether to paint it white or turquoise,
when I discovered that I didn't have enough white paint on hand.
Decision solved, LOL.
Here it is in the process.
Here it is finished:)
I love having lots of nooks and crannies
to store my creative supplies
and all the little things that I love:)
It's a great addition to my Art Barn storage.
Oh, did I tell you that I paid $10 for this.
They asked $15 and my friend Shirley said
offer them $10.
I did and they took it:)
It's good to have a bargaining friend
with you when looking for good deals.
Thanks Shirley!
When I look at these photos,
I'm happy that I was out of white paint:)
I like my creative space bright and colorful:)
It makes me happy.
Have a great week!
Your blogging sister,
Connie :)
Your new cabinet looks perfect in your room :)
ReplyDeleteI was so happy when I saw that you came to visit my blog today…I said Connie visited me :) My honey just looked at me :)
I was real excited to find this and to get it for only $10. My Art Barn just gets better and better all the time :)
DeleteThanks for stopping by to visit . . . and congratulations on your diet and exercise success. You are doing great!
What a score! I have a huge cabinet in my "creative space" aka episode of Hoarders -- it's stained pine and I'm thought of painting it to brighten up the room and I might just have to do it. But next to it is a huge black gun cabinet. How to "girlie" that up? I wonder! Love all your hats.. I have a big huge one to wear for period events. I'll have to show it some day. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Teresa, I am a lover of hats and so was my Momma. A couple of my straw hats were hers, so they are special to me. Do you use the gun cabinet for guns, or is it something that you are going to re-purpose for creative supplies?
DeleteIt looks amazing, I love the colour you chose to paint it. A bargain price. It looks wonderful in your very beautiful craft room. I love the hat stands they look amazing.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Those hat stands were all made from re-purposed candle holders and small lamp bases.
DeleteI have a tutorial somewhere in my archive of posts, if you are interested :)
I love the color you chose.
ReplyDeleteI too like to have lots of nooks and crannies for storing things.
Sticking little things into a little nook or cranny makes them look more interesting than setting them on a plain shelf . . . why is that?
Deletewhat a great find. I'm wimpy when it comes to bargaining so I would have probably just paid the $15....lol It looks awesome in turquoise and you're right, it is a great addition to your art barn.
ReplyDeleteOh, I would have paid the $15, too . . . I need to take a lesson from my friend Shirley. The fact is if you don't ask, you will never get an even better deal. If you ask and they say, "No," you can still pay the original price . . . but yard sales are a good place to practice wheeling and dealing, LOL
DeleteAn inspired paint choice and a wonderful bargain find
ReplyDelete, you did have a great weekend!
Yes, I did . . . I even took a nap Sunday afternoon. That is not my normal thing :)
DeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteWhat an awesome find and such a great deal! I love the turquoise...perfection! I too love my craft space bright and cheery! Speaking of my space, I haven't been in there much lately, but I'm hoping maybe this summer...:) Have a beautiful week!
ReplyDeleteHi Vicky, I haven't been in mine much either . . . spring is for planting and then comes hoeing, weeding and watering. I spend more time in there in the fall and winter, of course you are busy with school then. Here's hoping that your summer is filled with all the wonderful things that you don't have time for during the school year:)
DeleteHave great week.
Connie :)
I think the color is perfect and fits your space perfectly, also. Good find! I see a turquoise bracelet hanging on the door.....I have one so similar, I'm not even kidding.
ReplyDeleteHi Laurie, that was my valentine gift and few years ago, on a trip to Florida. I saw it in a cute little shop and Steve bought it for me:)
DeleteI'm happy that I didn't have enough white paint, because I like this color, too. Creative spaces should be bright and happy:)
Love the color. It could have been made exactly for the space. I wonder what the people who sold it to you would think if they could see the creative way you put it to use.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what they would think, but in my experience, once I decide to get rid of something, I never want it back:) I really wasn't sure what I would do with it when I bought it, other than find a space for it, in the Art Barn. I'm very happy with the color and the location, now that it is finished and on the wall:) Not bad for $10, right:)
DeleteYou did a great job and the room is so cute and fun feeling.
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy, it is so nice to see you . . . and thanks. great deal for $10 right?
DeleteGreat find!
ReplyDeleteI just love this time of year when there are yard sales, and garage sales, and treasures to be found :)
Nice happy color too!!!
~K.
Me too! This was my first time this year. I don't do it often, but once in a while it is just so much fun to spend a couple of hours and hunt for treasures:)
DeleteHi Connie, What a wonderful find!! it looks so nice in your art barn all painted up. I am happy for you. Nancy
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy, I really like it and the price was right:)
DeleteWow, it looks great Connie. And it has so much storage area for you too!
ReplyDeleteThe colour really brightens your craft studio. Good thing you didn't have enough white.
I know . . . I think I like this better than I would have liked the white :)
DeleteWhat a great find Connie, and you transformed it beautifully! The color is perfect.
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful day!
D~~~~
Hi Donna, it is great to see you . . . Thanks for stopping by. I'm happy that you like by transformation.
DeleteOh Connie, that is sooo pretty! What a transformation! Thank you for your lovely comment, and I'm glad you like my first little boxes. I made 2 more in blue after that, which I will upload tomorrow. I do hope my fellow chemo-ites will like them!
ReplyDeleteShoshi
HI Shoshi, It is great to see you here and to see you having fun with your paper crafting. Never stop enjoying life and all that it has to offer:)
DeleteGod bless you.
Love your new cabinet!! It looks great in your creative space and what an awesome price you got it for!!
ReplyDelete~Cindy
It was certainly one of those good yard sale days. I couldn't be more pleased with how my cabinet turned out and the price was great. I'm happy that I was so low on white paint, too :)
DeleteGreat find and so nice of your friend to encourage you to ask for a little cheaper price, I love the pop of color this gives to the room too!!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny because when I have a yard sale, people are always asking for lower prices . . . I forget that, that is part of the game:) It's like a dance of going back and forth with prices instead of steps . . . the Yard Sale Shuffle, LOL Great friend, good price and happy that I was short on white paint :)
DeleteThanks for your lovely comment, Connie, and I'm glad you are enjoying my little boxes. I'm about to upload another couple of posts with further ones I've made today! And you're right - I AM having fun!!!
ReplyDeleteShoshi
Knowing that you are having fun, makes me happy . . . keep it up :)
Deletewow, what a bargain Connie..
ReplyDeleteonly the other day, I thought that i might go to this new second hand and also new items shop in Evora to see if i could find a top cupboard for my pantry.. This was a bargain really , and i love the color.. it fits just perfect in your new barn , with all your lovely things around.
Happy wednesday Connie.
