Polka Dot Ice Skate Wreath

Super Simple
Decorating Fun!
~~~~~***~~~~~
I purchased this child's size pair of
ice skates at the Goodwill for $6.99
and the wreath for $2.00.
I used a small circle sponge
and acrylic craft paint to paint the polka dots.
Here it is hanging while the paint drys.
~~~~~***~~~~~
 I put them all together
with a bow and hung them
on the back porch railing.
~~~~~***~~~~~
That's it . . .
Super Simple
who's going to make one?
    1. Hi Judy, I'm a nut for polka dots, too. They were popular when I was a little girl and I have always loved them. It is great that they are making a come back . . . makes it much easier to find them :)
    1. Hi Nancy, it was something that i've wanted to do for a couple of years now. The first pair of children's skates that I found a couple winters ago turned out to fit one of my granddaughters, LOL
  3. SUper cute! I would make one but ice skates aren't too easy to find here in Florida! LOL! It was 72 degrees at 9 o'clock tonight on my way home from Gainesville! SO ready for some cooler weather!
  4. Your wreath looks amazing...I would make one if I could find the skates. I am also on the hunt for a vintage sledge. Have a wonderful Christmas.
    1. I saw two old sledges at the Goodwill a couple of weeks ago, but they had them price a $35. That was more than I would want to pay . . . I go to Goodwill for cheap, LOL. Also they where pretty big and I would like to find a small one :)
  5. What a great wreath. I think I have an old pair of skates in our crawl space. Ice skating brings back fond memories of the year my dad bought us all skates for Christmas. A neighbor had constructed a skating rink in his back yard and the whole neighborhood would get together for some fun.
    1. Thanks! You know the other thing that you could do is put round stickers on the skates and then spray paint them. After you removed the stickers you would have white polka dots. That is what I had planned on doing, but this was easier :)
  10. I did something similar with ice skates and greenery but I think mine lacks a bow. It makes a big difference.
  11. I doubt there would ever be a pair of ice skates in a thrift store around here. Those you found look almost new. Anyhow, you turned it all into a very pretty wreath! I would never have thought of that!
