Re-Vamping to Go Camping :)

Can you tell what this is?

Maybe this photo is better :)
I purchased some brown fabric
and stenciled these letters onto it
with white craft paint.

My favorite tools for this are make-up sponges
and I like to save plastic lids
for throw away paint palettes.

 New pillow for the camper.

We have a small motor home . . .
there is a dinette but not room for a sofa.
This week I took the table out
and built that small platform between
the two seats.
I had enough leftover fabric from making
slipcovers, when we bought it,
to cover a piece of foam and create
a small sectional.

I found that small foot stool this morning
at a yard sale for $5.
It's small enough to tuck under the
middle section.

This is a little table I painted green
this spring.
I decided to use it in the motor-home.
So I painted this on the top.

You can see the table mount on the floor,
so we still have the option to put it back in.

When we camp we like eating outside . . .
and this gives use more room inside.
Now we can fold this small table up,
put up our feet and watch a movie.

It will be nice on those days when the
weather turns bad.

I'm ready to go camping . . .
we haven't been since a year ago last June.

Anybody what to join us?

Keep Smiling!

Your blogging sister,

Connie :)

    1. Oh my goodness Thursday will be here in the wink of an eye . . . I imagine that you are very busy. It's nice that your home sold so fast . . . now on to a new adventure :)

  2. Making that small platform between the seats of your dinette was a great idea. I hope you get to do a lot of camping this summer.

    1. I just hope we get it out a couple times . . . with our big garden, there's lots to do here at home. I think that we will enjoy the new arrangement better, but we can always go back.

  3. You did a great job jazzing up your RV. Where are you going to go camping? We leave in a few weeks for our big camping trip of the year. Time to start making lists and getting our trailer ready! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

    1. We like camping locally, there are several nice campgrounds within an hour or less drive. Will you be taking the boat as well as the trailer?

  4. What a great idea - I love your new little table & cushion! We have been making our trailer our own this year with some changes. I can't wait to go camping in a few weeks!

    1. It's so much fun to take off and leave the cares of housework behind. We have one rule in camping. That is we do not camp any place where we can not have a campfire. One of our favorite things to do is sitting around the campfire at night :) How about you?

  5. I like what you did with your dinette. Very inventive. Thanks for visiting my blog and welcome. I don't know why the follow button isn't working. I'll see if I can figure it out, but please come visit me often anyway. Welcome again!
    Blessings,

    1. Hi Betsy, I tried again just before typing this and it still isn't working. The thing that I have learned through the years with Blogger, is that if you wait a while, everything seems to fix it's self :) I'm happy to have you visit, my welcome-mat is always out. Have a happy weekend!

  6. I would love to join you. Such a great tip to use makeup sponges for stencilling, a much cheaper option. Your little camper looks amazing what a wonderful makeover. Hope you have a great trip.

    1. Thank you so much. Make-up sponges are cheaper. I even look for them at the dollar store . . . then you can just toss them after your project. Easy clean-up, LOL.

  8. You come up with the most clever ideas. This look fantastic. I would love to go camping. We went years ago when my daughter was a year or so. We went in tents though. I couldn't do that these days. If I slept on the ground I'd never get back up again....lol
I use the plastic lids for paint trays too.

    1. Plastic tray make wonderful paint trays, don't they :) I could not camp in tents again either. We only did it once and when to broke camp after three days we found a mamma snake and her family tucked gently under the corner of our tent . . . thank goodness there was a floor sewed into the tent. That did it for me!

    1. While I'm working on prettying it up, my Steve is trying to find a leak in the pipes. Until all is fixed we will be camping in the backyard, LOL. We are using each thing in the camper, one at a time, so far we know it is not the toilet "GREAT NEWS" now we will be trying the bathroom sink and then the shower. So I might be showering out there next week, LOL. We have a sweet little lady that lives next door. She is 94 years old and enjoys watching me garden out her window. She'll be wondering what's going on when she sees me enter the camper and then come out in different clothes each day, LOL.

  10. ME! I would love to join! :) Love your little pillow and that was a great idea to remove the table to make more room inside since you eat outside anyway. An RV of some sort is on my list of wants! Someday! Hope you have a great camping trip.

    Hugs, Vicky

    1. Hi Vicky, you live in one of the best states to find used RV's . . . start looking on Craig's list and see what is out there in your price range and then start making a list of the things you want in an RV. If you are not in a hurry, but keep looking the perfect one will come along :)

    1. I think it will work much better to meet our needs. I've stored the table and will not remove the supports on the floor; then, we will always have the option to put it back the way it was if we want to.

  12. The pillow and the little table are adorable.

When do find time to do all your crafts, keep up your home and actually go camping?

    1. I am always on the go . . . but that keeps life interesting :) You should know that . . . I think you are very much the same. One of Tom Petty's songs has a line in it that say's "if you never slow down, you'll never grow old". I'm not ready to grow old . . . not yet, LOL.

  13. This is so great!
I never thought of using a T.V. table! When we rebuilt our camper we made it so there is a bed conversion up front, but we never had a great idea for a table. Our first table... I'm calling a fail. ;) But this is probably the route we should go... it's perfect! The sectional, makes it even better!
I like the looks of this!
(sadly, we've still not gone camping in our camper)... someday! :)

    1. Campers are like homes . . . there is always some little repairs and maintenance that needs to be done. We have a drain leak that we are trying to isolate, so that we can fix it ourselves. Hopeful we will find it and get it fixed easily, so we can go camping. I'm so ready!

  14. Poppy and I really want to buy an older used small motor home. You are just amazing at fixing things up! It all looks so cute!

    1. Thank you. Ours is a secondhand one that we found on Craig's list about 4 years ago. It's small but very comfortable for what we need in a motor home and small enough that I feel fine driving it myself. You may have noticed the mauve colored vinyl trim around the benches. I made slipcovers and curtains in a brown stripe that took away most of the 80's look. I love the campers that people are decorating in vintage design, but that's not my husband. I can not see him camping in polka dots and fancy interiors. We just want something to be comfortable in and that is not a tent, LOL.

  15. I love to go camping :)! Matter of fact we are going to get a new camper tomorrow as we sold our old one last week. We just simply can not be without it! We have about two weeks of vacation left so maybe we'll go for one more campingtrip this summer. That'll be so nice :). I also love the little table you made and the pillow looks awesome. Mind if I borrow the text from the tabletop and make myself a painting for our new camper? I hope your Steve finds the leakage in your camper so you can go camping real soon!

    Have a great day!

    1. We had plans to go this weekend, but then today hit 101 and that is too hot for us to have fun. Maybe when we were younger, but now we like camping in the 50 to 80 degree range. Anything higher or lower and we want to be at home, LOL.
