Fall is in the air.
Our neighbor is bailing his hay.
Some of the trees are starting
to change color.
The flowers are giving off their
last hurrah, before Jack Frost
pays them a visit.
It is so easy to get used to this
Keep Smiling!
Six weeks ago my roses looked terrible.
Then Steve put in a drip line.
I can not believe how fast
they snapped out of it.
I am enjoying them so much :)

ReplyDeleteEveryone of the roses growing on the south side of the house has a delightful smell, but each one is slightly different. My largest pink rose is growing right outside the bedroom window, it's a treat to have the window open :)

ReplyDeleteI'm so envious of your wide open views! Isn't it fun living in a farming community? Madras is one too and I don't mind at all when the big heavy farm equipment is driving (slowly) down our highway! I love the side of your Art Barn with the picket fence and old bike and all the flowers.... and the roses are wonderful and glad they snapped out of their slump. Even a month ago I was not ready for Fall, but now I am! Just love this time of year.. as I sit here in my sweatshirt (yes!) and am still chilly. We are slated to have temps in the 80's again this next week so that will be fine with me.. and freezing nights. Time to bring in the rest of the tomatoes!
ReplyDeleteOh, I know that you get some crazy weather there. One year we were in Bend for our granddaughter's birthday, it is the end of March and the sun was shining all day; we even walked along the canal in shirt sleeves. That same evening we got into a blizzard driving back to our hotel room. It was snowing so hard we could hardly see to drive, LOL.
DeleteThat sounds about right! The first year (2012) that we moved to La Pine, which is south of Madras about 70 miles, it snowed a foot on October 6th! Yikes. I had lived in Waitsburg, WA in the 90's and remember one Halloween it snowed a few inches, and I was amazed that it could snow so early anywhere! Then I got a taste of it even earlier in La Pine. Crazy crazy.

DeleteI would enjoy a view like that! I saw those giant hay bales when we went out west- I was amazed at how big they are! Roses do love water as I found out too. Love the picture of the sunflower and of the bicycle by the fence!
