Thank You Daddy
See that man holding that little
girl in his arms . . .
That's me and my Dad.
I loved that man,
he passed away when I was 15 years old
but before he passed he made sure
that his children knew Jesus.
He taught us to pray and he
told me that Easter was the
most important holiday
to celebrate.
I didn't truly understand just
what he was saying at the time.
I just knew from what he said that
I needed to remember this . . .
For a child Christmas was always
the big look forward to holiday,
but if Daddy said Easter,
then I would believe it.
After all Daddy wouldn't say
it if it wasn't so.
It took me many years to know the
importance of Daddy's words . . .
It took me until I was mature enough
to look at myself and see that I was
a sinner and my biggest sin was prime.
I believed that I was a good girl,
a good woman and that my goodness
would get me to heaven one day.
Talk about being prideful!
Thoughts like that make it impossible
to see the value of what Christ
did for us when He hung on that cross.
If I could work my way to heaven,
then His death was in vain.
Today when I think about that
Friday and Him hanging on that cross
bleeding out His life for me
and for everyone on this earth
past and present . . .
my eyes fill with tears of
great appreciation.
I started this post with,
"Thank You Daddy"
but now I say . . .
"Thank You Father"
for sending your one and only Son
to die for me, that I might truly
have a way to enter heaven.
The only way is through
His precious blood.
He gave us the gift of salvation
that day.
It's a free gift that every man
and woman can claim as their own.
If you haven't already received this
gift, please think about it . . .
FREE GIFT OF SALVATION
claim it today . . .
Easy steps to take:
A. Admit that you are a sinner
and have made mistakes.
B. Believe that Jesus is God's Son,
died on the cross for you,
and rose up from the grave
on the third day.
C. Confess Jesus as Lord of your life.
And commit yourself to a life
of following Jesus and serving others.
It's pretty easy, but it has to come from
your heart . . . if you're not ready
then start thinking about it.
Like I said it's a matter of your heart.
It doesn't mean sitting in church
every Sunday. If sitting in church made
you a Christian, then sitting in your
garage would make you a car (right).
Remember ABC - Admit, Believe & Confess.
If you have been told that you
don't need to read the bible,
but to let others tell you
what it says . . . my advice is run
and get your hands on one.
Read it for yourself!
Your smart . . . why shouldn't
you read it, after all it is the
number one best seller of all time.
Well, that's my post . . .
I did not write it to offend anyone,
I believe that we all have the
freedom to choose . . .
I just pray that if you are not
a follower of Christ, that you will
give it some thought,
what have you got to lose?
His gift is FREE!
Happy Easter!
God bless you,
Your blogging sister,
Connie :)

What a beautiful, wonderful, insightful Easter post. Thank you for standing up for your beliefs. I lost my father when I was 21 and his time on earth was way too short. I am glad you had a loving father like I did...and an even more loving father in Heaven. xo Diana

ReplyDeleteBeautifully said Connnie. And your mantel looks delightful too.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful post. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Connie. I, too, am so very grateful for His sacrifice. I was raised Catholic, which meant virtually no Bible study. I was married and in my 20's when I learned that I didn't have to earn my way to Heaven. What a revelation! I thank Jesus every single day for loving me like no other can even when I don't deserve it. You are a gifted writer. What a beautiful post.
ReplyDeleteWonderful and meaningful post Connie. You were so very fortunate to have a daddy like yours. My dad was not a believer nor spiritual at all.. my mom was but really never taught us the meaning of Eastery and the free gift we had received! Easter, growing up, was just about the Easter bunny and candy and easter egg hunts. I wish we would have been taught more in church, as children. Your post made me stop and think more.. about the meaning of Jesus dieing on the cross. And oh.. there is that gorgeous white f/p and mantel that I so love.... I still have a photo of it in my "wish book" for my house! Hugs.. Marilyn
ReplyDeleteAMEN great post!!
ReplyDeleteI am happy to say I asked Jesus to come into my life many years ago and he has given me the peace and joy that only HE can give.
Amen
ReplyDelete💙
Amen Connie, I'm blessed to see how you share about our Heavenly Father.
ReplyDeleteMy Dad passed away when I was 2 years old, I was raised and knew about God & my
Lord Jesus but didn't know Him personally until I 20, I'm a Pastors wife now for many years.
I had a very hard life growing up but have used that to help others & all Glory goes to my
Lord & Savior Jesus. He Has Risen!!! I Praise Him that He saved a wrench like me & that He
choose me to serve Him & others. Blessings to you my Sister In Christ. Susie *:)
Such a beautifully written post Connie... how wonderful that you had a father to teach you about the Lord. I'm sorry you lost him at such a young age, but thankful that you came to know and love the Lord as he did. No greater gift in life, indeed than to know Jesus! His precious gift of salvation means so much to me, my heart cries out in thankfulness every day that I am privileged to know Him! Beautiful pictures you shared too... my tulips haven't bloomed yet. They are working hard on it though, soon! Blessings to you dear friend!
