Just Starting My Garden

Good Morning Dear Friends,

My body is far from what you would call

a muscular physic, but after the last

two days that I've put into the garden

and yard . . .

let me tell you I have plenty of muscles.

How do I know?

Because each and every one of them

hurt!

Spring is very late as far as

warm weather, but at least

the danger of frost is over.

Well, I thought that I'd better

write a post or you might get

to thinking

I fell of the edge of the world.

I'm still here and kicking, LOL.

Wishing you all a wonderful week.

Remember to keep God first

in your life,

with Him we can get through

any and all hard times.

Have a lovely week,

Your blogging sister,

Connie :)

  2. Connie, I am so glad you at least work in your yard and garden. We just have to keep moving. My mom used to say if you don't move your body will just stiffen up. Loved your pretty pictures. Blessings to you my friend, xoxo, Susie

  6. Maybe that's why I don't like gardening, it makes your muscles hurt....lol
I bet it felt good to get all that work done even if you were achy afterwards.

  7. Oh Dear, I think you may have overdone the gardening. I hope a hot bath and a good nights sleep help. We put our tomato plants into their summer pots. I have pampered them for weeks but now it's time for them to stay outside.
Your roses are lovely. In the vase they could almost pass for Peonies.

  8. It's always nice to see a post from you pop up in my feed. The peonies are lovely! It's been a late spring here, too, and I've finally managed to get into the garden over the weekend. The evening light is so beautiful just now. Hugs and blessings.

  9. A beautiful post of flowers and gardening Connie. I know what you mean about muscles hurting. I weeded on Saturday and yesterday and today planted a few rows of beans and zuchinni. I also cut up and froze 11 bags of rhubarb, baked rhubar crisp and banana bread. I'm tired and muscles I didn't kow that I still had are complaining. :-)
WIshing you a beautiful week my friend. Oh, how we're missing our home and friends in Washington. We miss the beauty thre.
    Blessings and love,
    Betsy

  10. Such lovely flowers...are they roses or peonies? sometimes I can't tell the difference. We can't grow peonies here in Florida and I do wish we could. Anyway, your flowers are so pretty and I am glad you are able to get your garden growing!! Here in Florida we are already having summer weather and the time for frost is LONG past. I don't really want frost just now, but some cooler temps sure would be nice once in a while! I love your artistic ways of planting...the flowers in the boots are so cute. Try not to overdo it, but I know how satisfying it is to know the job is done, even though you may be hurting for a day or two or more. soon you will be able to enjoy the fruit of your labors. Have a blessed and wonderful week.

  13. So good to hear from you, yes gardening can be very hard work, and we use muscles we haven't really used most of winter, unless you have had to do a lot of shoveling snow :) Love the beautiful flowers in the mason jar, makes me want to make a card now with one!

  14. Hi dear Connie.... you have been a busy bee! Your gardens and flowers are always so so beautifiul and inspiring. I did alot of yard work a few weeks ago as we had some nice warm weather and boy did I pay for it! I'm trying to take it a little more easy with it now and only do an hour or two at a time! The muscles (and back) sure can scream loud! I LOVE your flowers and I see pots of strawberries! How are your raspberries doing? Mine look good now, but they always end up getting a fungus or something. I'm trying a fungus spray this year to see if it helps. I love having berries in my yard. You take care and don't overdo it! Good to hear from you.. I need to do a blog post too.. just keep putting it off! xoxoo Marilyn

  20. I know what you mean about doing yard work and your muscles hurting all over. I just weedeated the front and side yard, raked the planter box, picked up and bagged up. I couldn't feel my arms when finished, but it sure is good to have a clean yard, isn't it? Your pink rose is beautiful. What a stunning color. Your garden looks so nice, Connie. I hope the May days have been good to you.

  21. I'm glad to see you're working outside in your garden(s). It's great therapy, isn't it? Even though it's exhausting, it's very rewarding. Your blooms are amazing, Connie. We've had a very cool spring, and some snow, too. I had to drag some of my potted flowers inside for several days and cover up my bigger pots with plastic garbage bags. I had planted a pretty clematis in one of them and didn't want to lose it! Enjoy the new week, Connie. Hugs.

  22. You prepped that huge garden all by yourself and will be planting in that entire space, too? If so, I am totally awed!!
