Hello Dear Blogging Friends
Does your kitchen counters look
this bad when you bake?
Well, mine should do.
This recipe
(sorry that the photo is blurred)
is so good, but I recovered that
it works great for muffins,
but not for bread.
The bread tasted amazing,
but it was so moist that
2/3 of it came out of the pan
and the other 1/3 stayed in it.
(and I was using nonstick pans)
Next I made this recipe
given to me by my Mom in 1975.
This old pan is what a baked
it in, it was also from
Mom's kitchen.
From the marking on the bottom
I think it was probably a free
pan that came with
a frozen bread dough promotion.
This pan didn't stick
and the bread turned out
beautiful.
I belong to a quilting group
and we picked this block
to all make a table runner from.
(another blurry photo, don't know
what's going on with my phone camera)
(this is the back)
Here's photos of my runner
in the process of sewing
and finished.
I'll take photos to the others
when the other ladies bring
them to "Show & Tell"
I do hope that you are all
having a lovely weekend.
I always get excited on the
first Sunday of each month
because I serve as greeter at
church . . . It's fun
to welcome everyone as
they come in the door :)
One of the little things
that make me happy :)
God bless you all!
Connie :)
I am a very messy cook... the counters, the stove, the floor! I love zucchini bread and yours looks delicious.. I love your table runner... the fabrics that you chose are lovely.
ReplyDeleteYour breads look so good, especially the banana one. I'm partial to the bread recipes that do not call for oil. Your table runner is delightful. The color is refreshing at this hot season and the appliques make smile. Perfect on your dining table. Blessed Sabbath to you!
ReplyDeleteGod bless you too, Connie. 💙
ReplyDeleteYour baking counter doesn't look bad! It looks well-lived.
Connie, your table runner is so lovely, and perfect with your room decor.
ReplyDeleteI love how you keep busy, Connie. The breads look so good, even though you had issues with the bread sticking to the pan. Zucchini bread is one of my favorites, and, of course, banana bread is always moist and delicious. Your runner is so cute. It looks great on your dining table. The blue is your sweet home is beautiful. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteI love both of those kinds of bread and bake them too. :) Yours look delicious.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I make quite a mess in the kitchen when I bake or cook!
Your runner is beautiful - I LOVE both sides of it.
Tis the season for zucchini goodness! I love how your table runner turned out...so pretty!!!
ReplyDeleteIf I've not mentioned it before, I sure love your farm table and your mismatched chairs!!
Smiles :)

What a pretty and cheery new table runner you sewed!! Too bad your zucchini bread stuck to the pan. It looks so tasty anyway but it's disappointing I guess. A lot of my baking has problems but usually it's my fault for not following the recipe exactly. It all gets eaten though. The banana loaf looks great. The old pan may have something to do with that.

ReplyDeleteYour table runner is beautiful! I love all the shades of blue, one of my favorite colors. And your baking looks delicious. I am baking right now as I type...I have a peach-blueberry crisp in the oven. My neighbor down the street has peach trees and they were kind enough to give me a big bag of peaches! Hope you had a lovely and blessed Sunday.
ReplyDeleteYour breads look very good - even when they don't come out of the pan well!
ReplyDeleteI love the runner!
We were greeters this morning too. I enjoy it as well.
Hello my friend! Our time in Spokane is nearly at an end. We’re leaving very early tomorrow morning. I did want so badly to see you this trip, but we just ran out of time. Hopefully next time we visit we can go to your sweet cottage and say hello in person and get a hug.
ReplyDeleteYour breads look delicious and I’m guessing that even though the zucchini bread fell apart, it was delicious. The runner is so sweet and looks perfect in your room.
Blessings and love,
Betsy
those bread sure do look delicious, I haven't made a them in a long time.
ReplyDeleteSo nice you belong to a quilting group, your runner looks terrific!
I am a greeter at out church too, it's a great way to be able to see everyone and have a short catching up time with them, but there are 10 volunteers at out church so I don't do it every month.
I love the pretty blues in the new runner! The bread looks good. I'm glad I have a sugar substitute that is good to use (Swerve). Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteHi Connie,
ReplyDeleteI really like your runner. Could you share the pattern number or is it quilt blocks put together?

HI Connie.. missed this post too! I'm getting caught up I think! Oh my those breads look wonderful. I love both kinds! Haven't made zuchinni bread for a long while.. maybe I'll be able to make some this year as I have yellow zuchinni.. I assume I can use it for bread? or I will at least grate it and freeze it. My neighbors also have the green zuchinni and give me one now and then. And banana bread is my fave, as I always seem to have overripe bananas! I have to make gluten free, but have a good recipe for it.. and now I'm trying to eat mostly paleo (grain free) and it's harder to find a good recipe. Even if part left in the pan, it's still good with butter slathered on it! You sure do sew up a storm. Love the table runner.. how fun to all use the same pattern, and then to see the different colors, etc. That backing is darling! And the blue is so perfect with your walls and chairs.. how homey and wonderful your home looks! One of these days I hope to come for a visit (as long as you have some pie of some sort! ha ha)........ take care... Marilyn
ReplyDeleteHaving been born in 1975, I can say that recipe is getting old :).
ReplyDeleteLove your table and chairs. So charming.
