Hello!
My name is Connie
and
I'm a "Paint-aholic."
There are a few things
in this world
that I cannot be trusted with
or I overindulge.
One of them is cheesecake
and another is paint.
Some of you may remember that
I painted my back door this year.
Well, I had leftover paint
and I've been trying to think
of what I could use it for.
So even though I redid my bedroom
about a year and a half ago . . .
There I was yesterday evening
at 8:00 PM
repainting the bed.
Like I had nothing else
to do, right?
Butchy's dog tags . . .
he is missed :(
Here's a little tour
of the rest of the room.
I like to think of it
as my little English cottage
bedroom.
Here's another bedspread . . .
the first was a quilt that I made,
but this old chenille bedspread
was covering an old saddle in a garage
where a yard sale was going on.
I asked about it
and was told it wasn't for sale,
it was just keeping her saddle from getting dusty.
So, I made a offer . . .
and she found something else to
cover her saddle :)
That was probably 15 years ago :)
I think this new look
is much more cheery
than the black bed.
It'll be nice to wake up to
and in the winter when the skies
are gray my bedroom will be
a bright and happy room.
Put God First
&
have a lovely day.

Your blogging sister,
Connie :)
Your bed looks so pretty in blue, much nicer than the black. You are one of those people who will always find something to improve! The bedcover is so lovely, I cant imagine why anyone would just dump it in a stable! Glad you found it.
ReplyDeleteYou're always busy with some kind of project. This looks wonderful. I like the blue a lot. That's such a cheery room.
ReplyDeleteYou may be the person to ask-- What is the best porch paint?
ReplyDelete"Put God First"
Wise words!
You are blessed indeed.
Your addiction to paint has good outcomes! The bed looks great, the whole room is very cheery!
ReplyDeleteHi CONNIE-Love your new look Bed - the Blue Paint certainly works well- what a lovely Home you have created- it IS very you. Best Wishes. KEV.
ReplyDeleteConnie love that color...I can see how the addiction to paint can happen. I may need some help in that department too! Love your bedroom - it looks wonderful friend. Have a blessed day. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks lovely in your bedroom. So cherry and happy and colorful. It all looks beautiful.
ReplyDeleteConnie, I just love every single thing about your bedroom. The new bed color is much better than the black, but I never would have thought about painting it if it had been up to me. I don't have your imagination. Put God First is perfect!
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
Love your blue bed - and your pretty bedroom! I wish you were my neighbor - I'd hire you to paint my boring wood kitchen table! :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is Susan from Writing Straight from the Heart, Connie. I don't know how to get rid of that Anonymous label! Anyway, I love the aqua painted bed. It looks so very cheery and happy. Your entire cottage is just adorable. Sincerly, Susan
ReplyDeleteYou are so sweet Connie & I am sure there are plenty of other "a-holic" things that are far worse than paint-aholic!!
ReplyDeleteYour bedroom looks wonderful & I much prefer the new colour to the black. I love to paint things too & I always think my dear departed Dad would be watching me thinking to himself "thats too much paint on that brush there Julie". Wishing you a wonderful day Connie xx
I love it! You are so talented!
ReplyDeleteYou are a paintaholic indeed, but that's a good thing! Your painted bed ends look so nice, didn't you do well. But the question is.......did you use up all the paint?
ReplyDeleteWouldn't the world be a lovely place if we were all addicted to painting! Beautiful and happy bed! I love the rest of the room, too!
ReplyDeleteGrace & Peace
Pam
I consider painting and sewing as two of the best talents a homemaker can have....and you have both. I love what you've done both with painting and also the little vignettes you create in your home. I've always been fond of chenille and your bedspread (rescued from a stable) looks like it's in really good shape. Granny M
ReplyDeleteHow bright and pretty your bed looks in that turquoise colour! If you have to be addicted to something, then painting is a lovely choice - makes the world nicer!
ReplyDeleteOh it sure does make a difference doesn't it, it is quite a bit more cheerful now! Wow I can't believe she was using that bed spread to cover a saddle, good find there!
ReplyDeleteWhy you wouldn't want the paint to dry up would you? lol great crafting idea!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely change a little bit of paint can make. Such a pretty color. Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteLovely Connie, I am always painting as well! Have a lovely day! How is your garden doing?
ReplyDeleteHi Connie!
ReplyDeleteYour bed looks so sweet and cozy. I love the chenille bedspread and the story about it. I fondly remember how very popular they were "back in the day". And of course, your quilts are beautiful, especially the Grandmother's Flower Garden. 🌺
I didn't comment on the previous post, but I too lay out my Sunday clothes on Saturday.💗
And I love your picture!👒
Blessings, Linda
I wish I WAS addicted to painting! So many things need painting in my home and all my little wood pieces I find here and there! You can come to my house and paint your heart away!!! I love that blue color.. loved it on your door and also in your sweet bedroom... your English Cottage bedroom is so so cozy and sweet.. I love the white wood on the bottom with the moulding. I just had one of my pink bedroom walls painted white on the bottom.. now I need to put up some moulding along the line where the paints meet. I do have some white left from the painters painting some trim, and I'm itching to use it! Once I get started painting, then I do get on a roll, but I HATE cleaning up the brushes, etc. so it takes me a long time it seems to finally get a paint can lid off and get to painting. I have so many things I want to paint white around here! I love how your bedroom is set up, love the quilt and also the chenille bedspread.. wow what a find! Love the quilt rack.. once of these days I would like to find a quilt ladder (and paint it white of course!). You sure have been a busy girl!!!! Hugs.. Marilyn
