Organizing My Happy Place.

Have you noticed that so many of our
blogging sisters
are organizing their homes, closets and creative spaces.

It's a good thing and very contagous.

Some of you may remember the stairs I built,

When I turned this loft into a
sleeping & reading room for our granddaughters.

Well, there are two lofts in my space.
So, I built another set of stairs.
Now, I can easily get to my storage attic.

I moved cabinets and counter tops,
and rearranged the whole barn.
I hope you enjoyed the tour!
It is not often that everything is
tidy and organized.
It seemed like a good time to take photos, LOL

Keep Smiling!
Your blogging sister,
Connie :)

    1. Oh! I am a hat person, there seems to be very few of us around. A lot of people collect them, but I actually wear them, LOL.

  3. What a great tour, it is an amazing space. There is so much going on I had to look a couple of times. Love the hats and stands, one of my great loves is a decorated hat. You are certainly well organized.

    1. Organized for now . . . that's why it was a great time to take photos, LOL.
It is easy for me to have three or four projects going at the same time, so it doesn't always look this neat.

    1. Hi Liz, sorry I don't know what TFS means. I'm not into texting so all the little shortcuts blow over my head.
I am very happy that you like my space :)

  7. What a lovely space you have! No chance to be bored when you are in there! I wound a little lace on a few of my wooden sewing spools I had collected after you had made some spools awhile back. I see you also did that. Love it! Wish I had more bits of lace to wind on them now! LOL! Nancy

    1. I have found blogging sisters to be so supportive and encouraging . . . we all just want to be happy and have the best home that we can create for our family. Sharing ideas and building up confidence to try something new and to enjoy this journey through life . . . it's a good thing :)

  9. P.S. Did you make that shelf for your spools so that it would fit the big ones and the average size ones? Nancy

    1. Hi Nancy, if you are talking about the blue cupboard behind the chair . . . it is a CD holder with adjustable shelves. I think I paid $5 for it at Goodwill. All that I had to do was paint it :)
If you are asking about the shelf in the first photo, that was a Goodwill find, too :)

    1. Hello Susan, I love my space and I'm delighted that you do, too. It is a dream come true, and a saving account that contends less money than it did a few years ago, LOL. It's one of those barns people buy for storage . . . I thought long and hard before spending my stash, but I'm so happy that I did. And yes I feel very blessed!

    1. Hi Cindy, I guess it's that time of year . . . fresh organized spaces to start the new year. I do better with resolutions that are about cleaning and organizing, over ones about loosing weight :) You know what they say, "pick your battles" LOL.

    1. Hi Carol, you are amazingly organized . . . it is much harder when your space is small. Now if I had your space, I would be spending less time creating and more time walking the beach :) I LOVE the beach!

  18. This space is absolutely amazing, Connie. I can imagine that you could probably spend the entire day in there! Do your granddaughters like to work on crafts with you when they come over?

    1. Working on crafts is the first thing on their minds when they arrive at grandma's house, LOL. That is why I thought they would love that loft. They still haven't seen it yet. I have many days when I get up and I'm out there my 9:30 or 10:00 and spend all day until it's time to start supper, LOL. It is truly a dream come true for me, I love it and feel blessed. If you lived closer I would invite you over and we could sit our tussies down and make something :)

    1. They don't visit much, but I think it is nice to fill that time with lots of good memories. They both love making crafts and reading, so that loft will be a wonderful surprise. Besides that what kid doesn't like the idea of a special place all their own . . . when I was a kid we were always creating backyard clubhouses and one summer we discovered an abandoned tree house out in the woods behind our house.

  21. You have created such a beautiful space, it looks so warm and inviting and matches your personality perfectly. I have never seen so many coloured pens in one place, fab! Xxxx

    1. I haven't been art journaling for a few years now and I quit making cards further back than that, so some of your pens are probably died out. I need to sit down and go through them . . . when I do I will probably cut that amount in half, LOL. I do enjoy my space and spend a lot of time out there especially in the winter.

  22. It all looks fabulous, I really need to do that also but every time I go into my room I just end up making something else instead of cleaning. I bet your granddaughters have such a wonderful time there and you make some beautiful creations!!

    1. Hi Alison, I do love my space and I do spend a lot of time out there. Some mornings I get up, hurry through my household chores and then head out their for the day, especially this time of year. Having projects that are fun help keep the winter blues away from the door until Spring shows her beautiful face and I can be outside :)

  25. Oh Connie, it is so amazing, all of your crafting items, comfortable seating, sleeping and the lofts...Your granddaughters must love visiting. oh, and a sink for cleaning everything...It's a girls dream area Connie, wow, wow! Oh, you asked about the Polka Dot Flea posters, my son and I design them, have a artist do the drawings and a graphic artist put it all together, it takes a lot of money and effort, but I think it sets the tone for the whole show and it is so fun to see an idea come to life on paper...This years poster is a tad funky and quirky, but I love it

    1. Hi Vicky, My Steve and I have each gotten a budgeted allowance for years and I'm a saver. I never knew what I was saving mine for until we moved here. We have a smaller house now, so my creative space would have been cramped in the house. Buying this barn and fixing it up was the best purchase I'd ever made for myself. I love it! Start saving girlfriend :)
