BoHo and Give A Ways

I have been enjoying being out
in my Art Barn this week.
Working on sewing projects and painting this
old piece of furniture.
First I painted it pink and
then painted over that with yellow.
I added the little medallion, too.

This was my inspiration :)
Have you seen it in the stores?
The pages just scream, "Be Happy"!
Here you can see this piece painted white.
I bought it at the Goodwill about twenty years ago.
It was time for a cheerful face lift :)

I have also been thinking about having
A Give-Away.
each time in the past when I have done this,
I always say, leave a comment and be a follower.
Then I would process by drawing a name
from the blogging sisters that follow and that commented.
I decided to change that process.
Now you just have to be a follower.

When I am out blogging and visiting
my sweet sister's blogs,
I often get inspired my their homes,
or something that they are doing on their blogs.

From now on when the creative bug bites me . . .
and a want to make something for a give away.
I'll make it and decide whose house it fits best.
Be a follower on Friends Connect,
(up there in my right column)
and you may get a email telling you that you have won :)

These two valentine banners went out last week.

And this dish towel is going to be mailed next week.
It looks pink in this photo, but it is
red, blue and yellow.

This one is going out to Carol at
Art and Sand
http://artandsand.blogspot.com
Carol's home is filled with
vintage beach decor and primary colors,
so I hope she likes this :)
This is going to be fun!

Have a Happy Day,
and
Keep Smiling.

Your blogging sister,
Connie :)
P.S. I love reading comments and they are
the best way for me to click and visit your blogs.
So, please keep commenting.

  1. Good morning, Connie! Your darling beach towel will be absolutely perfect for Carol's home. I know she will love it. The Valentine banner that I won in your giveaway a couple of years ago has a permanent place over my college son's bed. Since his room (it's also used as a guestroom since he's away at school right now) has red accents, this banner was perfect. And the dishtowel and potholder that you so generously also sent have a permanent place in my kitchen. I love handmade gifts and knowing they come from a blogger friend makes them even more special. You have such a kind heart for gifting your handmade treasures. Have a wonderful weekend!

    1. Hi Betty, I guess the new buzz word is BoHo . . . i've always thought of it as being a gypsy style. Free, passionate and happy . . . the kind of style that makes you want to smile, sing and maybe even dance around the room :) I can not wait to see some of your re-dos :) Oh, I found this magazine at the grocery store.

  6. I have a soft spot for the boho style, too Connie...but my decor has no paricular style at the moment!
We have had to concentrate on things like damp proofing since we moved!
Your sewing work is very neat and I like your heart banner. Have you anything in the greenhouse yet?

    1. Hi Alex, I have ordered some seeds and I have bought a few of those peat moss starter kits. I've also been saving the card-boards from toilet paper and paper towel. Have you seen them used as starter pots? I saw them first on Pinterest. Yesterday I was in town and I bought some throw away roasting pans with plastic dome lids . . .I got them at the Dollar Store. I plan on setting my card-boards in them with dirt and making a terrarium for germinating. Right now we still have snow on the ground :) Thanks for stopping by to visit, I love company :)

  7. You must have awesome creative energy, as you are so talented at many different crafts. I LOVE your repurposed & refurbished tv cabinet. Looks fab in the soft buttery yellow with the hints of pink. It is really a very 'happy' feeling piece of furniture. Liked the blog candy you've sent out too. What a wonderful way to satisfy your own crafting spirit, while sharing the bounty with a blog buddy. I LOVE your attitude!! TFS & have a great weekend.

    1. I don't know if I will subscribe or not, but probably not . . . I haven't been picking up magazines nearly as much as I did before blogging. It's like there are so many ideas and eye candy in the blogging world . . . and that is what I buy magazines for. This one was just a whim and a fancy treat to myself :)
Cozy in and stay warm . . . Happy Weekend!

I have clicked on friend connect on my blog to go to someones blog and it doesn't work any more? I know different gals have said they lost several friends due to the changes of friend connect? through blogger?

    1. I'm so glad you mentioned that. I have lost about 50 followers in the last couple of months . . . I was beginning to second guess my content, but couldn't really pin point anything that could have offended anyone, let alone 50 people. Oh well, it's only numbers; I think that people that visit and enjoy a blog will always stop by and visit. I'm just here to share ideas and spread a little cheer and happiness if I can:) Thanks for stopping by to visit and for your kind words of encouragement :) Happy Weekend!

    1. Good Morning Nancy, I just got to thinking that most of the time whatever it is you are giving way, may be nice, but will also only truly fit into a few people's styles. So, why not bless someone that will most likely use it. I even enjoy trying sewing project that don't even fit my style, but are fun to make . . . so find a blogging sister that you think would enjoy it, right :) Anyway . . . I feel good about doing it this way . . . so, as I've seen some blogger write, "It's my blog and my rules", LOL. I'm happy to see that you also feel this way.
