  3. Everything is looking good for you to have a lovely summer.

With our drought, I'm not sure that our garden will continue to thrive this summer.

    1. Hi Andrea, sweetie pie you must have missed the part where I said these were last summer photos, but we are off to a great start this year and it won't be long before everything will look like these photos again :)

  5. Absolutely stunning! These photos are art. I love the huge sunflower with the brilliant blue sky behind it. And the colorful watermelons framed by the leaves. AND the bee on the zinnia! These photos really represent summer and fun!

    1. Hi Sherry, so good to see you. I see that you have left a lot of comments on my different posts. I'm excited to see what you thought about them. I've missed you and your inspiring blog. I have a morning time to walk with a friend; the sun is not quite up and I can hear thunder . . . we might just have to cancel today's walk. LOL.

    1. Summer is a wonderful time of the year . . . doesn't in bring back a lot of childhood memories. No school, roller skating, bike riding, picnics and swimming :)

    1. I was thinking of that when I typed this post. I always look forward to the time when the days start getting longer again. I know that the warmer seasons have the same amount of hours in them, but for some reason I get more done when the days are longer :)

  12. Goodness! It's the first day of summer and I missed it! Hubby and I spent the entire day at the church moving books and bookcases as we create a new library in another part of the church. It would have been a perfect rainy day project for last week but sometimes you just have to go with the flow. Did you get to grow watermelon last year? More fresh picked summer treats! Lucky You! :)

    1. That photo is my last year's watermelon. I planted some this year, but something came along and ate my plants. So, I replanted that bed with pop-corn and flowers. I've never grown pop-corn, it should be fun :)

  13. Hi Connie, Beautiful pictures and I am sure your garden will be even prettier this year! Our first day of summer here was very hot and humid and windy. We have been busy making plans to sell our house and move to a place where they do all the outside work except for a small fenced in courtyard which I can take Coco out with me and do what I want with it. I will becoming a "pot" gardener!! Nancy

    1. There comes a time when we need to take care of our bodies and downsize our workload. I'm sure that you will miss your home, it is so lovely, but I also know that you will make your new place into a cozy and charming home. It's not where you live, but who you share your life with, that matters. Happy summer, sweet friend :)

    1. Oh, I hope so, too :) It's off to a good start and the rains that we have been having (rain is a true blessing around here) have been wonderful. I have sprinklers to move, so it's nice having a day off, LOL. The sun is just coming up, wait that's wrong, day-lite is approaching . . . it's cloudy, no sun and I hear thunder in the background. No need to water today :) Thanks for stopping by, I value our little blogging friendship . . . you are such an inspiration. I love how you grab life by the horns and are never allowing moss to grow under those pretty feet of yours.

  16. Happy summer days to you, Connie. It's great to anticipate the delights to come while enjoying the beautiful moments of today. Our weather is cooler than I'd like, but the garden is doing well and the roses are heavenly.

    1. Our weather has been so unpredictable lately. We had to cancel our kayaking trip today, because of the wind. Yesterday it was beautiful, but today was our day to be out on the water :(

  17. Love your beautiful photos. It has been hot here and we might have some bad weather tomorrow. They are even saying we might have tornadoes. I hope they are wrong about that.

    1. Hi Cindy, Tornadoes . . . no that doesn't sound like a nice summer day to me. Here's hoping that it doesn't amount to that and that you and your family are safe and soundly tucked into your cozy home. Be careful.

I am feeling my age or doing to much to pay attention anymore? to things like first day of summer. also I haven't been watching the crazy news stations to keep up on this sort of thing.

I have one tomato plant I'm attending to haha in the garden with all my flowers
