A Happy Little Project

I wanted something cheerful
to set on my kitchen window sill . . .

Remember this . . .
well, this time I painted little jars.

You can see here that they take more
than one coat of paint.

 Three to be exact :)

These are all small
and set nicely in my kitchen window.

This is my view when I'm washing dishes . . .
too bad they are all done.

Oh well, after dinner all that will change, LOL.

I'm  sharing this post with
Share-Your-Cup

  1. Your sweet little jars made me smile! :-). The polka dots are such happy things aren't they? I love the view from your window. My sweet Hubby would also like to get some land in the country up here in the Pacific NW. We shall see.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

    1. Hi Betsy, thank you . . . polka dots do made a cheerful statement, don't they :)
We only have one acre, but until buying this home two years ago last spring, we lived thirty-three years in a very tight neighborhood. Our backyard was tiny and shady and no place for a garden. We love it here and my kitchen window looks out onto an alfalfa field. This morning I saw a coyote.

    1. I didn't use a sealer, but I think that I will do that . . . I have some spray clear acrylic.

  15. That makes the kitchen window so cute. I could use some of your patience. I throw away bottles and jars everyday and never see anything that I could use them for. I need to remember some of your ideas. Thank you Connie.

    1. I have a hard time throwing away any small glass bottles. It won't be long before they are all plastic. I enjoy small bottles that will hold only one or two flowers. They make it easy to find a place to set them and they can add a little cheer to any room. Especially when covered in polka dots, LOL.

  17. such a cheerful little window! I have a box of bottles on the front porch my daughter left here. Some are old and have interesting shapes. This idea has been bumped up the list and I'll ear mark some of these bottles for cute little bud vases!
Also... I only had one wish when we moved to the country for my house, that was a window over the sink! Love it...and that adorable banner too!

    1. I can't not imagine not having a window over the kitchen sink . . . it's a must for me, too :) I spend so much time there and I don't want to be staring at a wall. I guess open concept would be the next best thing because you could look into the house, but I like my rooms separated. I'm not into open concept.

  18. Connie, Love the little jars. Great paint job. How did you make perfect dots? thanks for sharing. Sylvia D.

    1. Hi Sylvia, making perfect dots is a simple little trick. Put a little paint on a flat surface like a folded paper towel or a plastic lid from a yogurt cup or something like that and then use the eraser end of a pencil like a rubber stamp. Try it on a piece of paper and get the hang of it . . . so easy :) Have fun . . . and thank you so much for stopping in to visit. I love company and my welcome-mat is always out :)
