Staying Warm & Fiddling Around The House

Cold weather has hit us . . .

Time to stay home, off the icy roads

and fiddle with the house.

You can see that I've

shoveled a path to the barn.

I've got to be able to get

to my sewing machine :)

While snowed in . . .

I have been watching You Tube

videos and getting inspired

to do a few mini projects.

Never tried this before.

I've had these candle sticks

for so long that I can't even

remember . . . 15/20 years.

Time for a make-over.

A couple coats of paint

and a little distressing and

I have new Farmhouse candle holders :)

That bucket of pine cones

in the middle of the table

is where I added my dried oranges.

Then I decided to go on-line

and create some labels.

Steve made this sweet spice rack for me

back when we lived at the old house.

I put it up a while back

but shame on me . . .

I never completed the job.

Now doesn't this look better:)

I've been going to make labels for

these for a year and a half . . .

It took me about an hour to complete.

I'm better at tackling the big jobs

and procrastinating over the small ones.

Are any of you like that?

While making labels I decided

to make these too.

The jars are a couple that I

saved and cleaned out from those

jar candles that I love.

Well, it time to get off the computer

and put on my snow boots.

I have finished the quilting on

a quilt that I've been hand quilting

off and on for the last year.

Time to sew the blinding on and get it done .

I'll carry my phone with me . . .

that way if I slip on the ice

I can call a tow truck, LOL.

Thanks for visiting . . .

stay warm and keep God first.

Connie :)

Goodbye June

June is coming to an end . . .

these days will never come again . . .

treasure them!

These are my two sidekicks.

I do enjoy them.

Beulah loves the water.

This is a bad photo . . .

she moves too quickly for my

phone camera, but she has her head

buried in the sprinkler :)

If I say the word bath,

she'll jump in the tub

sometimes faster than

I can remove the bath-mat.

So today I bought her this . . .

I thought she would jump

right in . . .

but she's timid and testing the waters.

I've shown you photos of my

south garden, the one behind

Beulah in this shot.

This is part of the west garden.

The squash are starting to put

fruit on their vines

and I had my first zucchini

this week.

I picked these this morning,

all washed and sliced to make

dinner and easy task.

Zucchini, lettuce & green onion

all from the garden.

Last week I invited a girlfriend

over and I took a frozen cheese pizza

and added sauteed green onions

and fennel from the garden

and then topped with Parmesan cheese

before baking.

It was so yummy!

Of course I am always bringing

in flowers from the garden . . .

one of my favorite joys of summer.

I managed a little time out in the Art Barn.

Mostly cleaning and organizing,

but I did manage a bit of sewing.

My greenhouse needs a new roof.

I lost half of it in a wind storm

at the end of winter.

This was a sign that I made a few years ago,

I had it hanging in the greenhouse

but bought it inside to a bedroom.

Well, that's about it . . .

the grapes are still very green

as well as the blackberries . . .

but it won't be long :)

I'm still working on hand-quilting

this quilt that I started

almost two years ago.

One more side of the boarder to do.

I use a piece of felt to quilt a

perfect circle. It works great!

Our temperatures are suppose to

reach 110 to 114 in the next few days.

🌻🌄🌻🌄🌻

Hot for people and animals

but great for tomatoes.

🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅

See, there is a sunny side to everything :)

God bless you all.

DIY Home Projects

Life sometimes gives you a few lemons.
They say to make lemonade . . .
or pull yourself together
and make the most of what you have left.

That is what I have been trying to do.
I had a few unpleasant family
circumstances lately . . .
but my faith is strong and healthy
and I will survive.

People can disappoint you,
but
God is Good, Always!

So, onward and upward . . .
nothing I want to share,
but I will share my new living room
re-do with you.

Our living room was yellow.
Now it is "Hush" grey.
I love reading the names of paint colors :)

I've sold and gave away much of
our furniture.
Now I am having to replace it
with a few new things
(like a TV)
and things from my Art Barn.

I almost sold my table and chairs, twice . . .
I'm so glad that I didn't :)

The next three chairs are from
the Art Barn.
Some of you may remember them.

I have to admit that I would never have
thought of putting them into the
living room, but I like them.
They are comfortable and they do
give the room a more girly look.

Well, that's my post for today.
I have also had to buy new mattresses
and build bed frames.
I'll save those for my next posts.

It will give me something to post about
and maybe get me back to blogging
&
visiting with my wonderful blogging sisters.

I miss you all.

Connie :)

Stenciling The Barn

I was out in the Barn today
and just had an itch to do something
and this is what I ended up doing.

A year ago I decided to paint my white
walls and add some color to the
interior of the barn.
I painted this wall turquoise adding
white here and there in a cloudy
whimsy look.
Today I stenciled over it.

Not measuring and being exact . . .
I don't care for exact, especially in my barn.

So here are a few photos of the wall . . .
tell me what you think.
I love the new Boho look of color
and freedom, so that is what I was going for :)

As you can see the wall next to it
is lavender . . . I haven't decided
whether to do the same to it,
but I think maybe yes.

I'll think about it for a while.

I love the freedom that I have in the Barn,
and I'm braver out there than in the house.

After all it's my creative space :)

That's it for this post.

Thank you so much for visiting
and please leave a comment.

You won't hurt my feelings . . .
not everyone has the same taste
and wouldn't it be boring if we did?

Keep Smiling!
