Bedroom Re-do

This is my first bedroom redo.

Ready for guests . . .

I used the same grey paint that

I used in the living room.

 I'm keeping it simple.

I had one twin bed

so I built another frame using 

the old frame for 

measurements and a pattern.

Decorating with quilts and 

things that I already

had on hand.

This lamp and table

used to be in the living room.

The table was coffee brown,

so I spray painted it white.

This antique wooden hanger

was a gift from my sweet

friend and neighbor.

I borrowed the idea of 

displaying embroidered

linens on it from her, too.

I made this bo-ho 

dream-catcher a couple years ago.

  It was hanging in the Art Barn.

The other side of the room

gives me a place for a sewing

machine, ironing board

and storage.

Oh, I took Steve's headboard,

(an old door)

cut it in half and painted

it white. 

It went from one 

kingsize headboard 

to two twin headboards :)

When your budget is nearly

nothing . . . you come up

with fresh ideas for

old things.

The only thing that I bought 

for this room was paint

and one twin bed mattress

from Amazon :)

Well, that's my post

except for this . . .

The first tomato from the garden.

We usually don't have them 

until August.

I enjoyed it in a salad

last night along with a 

Winco pizza.

Stenciling The Barn

I was out in the Barn today

and just had an itch to do something

and this is what I ended up doing.

 A year ago I decided to paint my white

walls and add some color to the

interior of the barn.

I painted this wall turquoise adding

white here and there in a cloudy

whimsy look.

Today I stenciled over it.

Not measuring and being exact . . .

I don't care for exact, especially in my barn.

So here are a few photos of the wall . . .

tell me what you think.

I love the new Boho look of color 

and freedom, so that is what I was going for :)

As you can see the wall next to it

is lavender . . . I haven't decided

whether to do the same to it,

but I think maybe yes.

I'll think about it for a while.

I love the freedom that I have in the Barn,

and I'm braver out there than in the house.

After all it's my creative space :)

BoHo Wreath . . . Let's Make One

I have been admiring these 

BoHo dream-catcher wreaths on Pinterest 

and decided to make one of my own.

I started my stretching a doily across the

 inside ring of an embroidery hoop.

I used a glue stick and clothes pins to security it.

When the glue was dry 10 minutes or so,

 I removed the clothes pins 

and put the outside ring over the smaller one.

Next I went through my stash of ribbons,

 fancy yarns, and string.

I cut long pieces being sure they were 

twice as long as I wanted them to be.

I looped them somewhere close to the center 

and pulled them through the bottom edge 

of the doily.

All you need to do here is loop them 

through themselves.

They will stay nicely in place.

Next, because I wanted a pretty silky flower,

I went to my fancy fabric basket.

And followed the directions at
