Local Artistry Cocoa Beach Florida

Well, I just got back from a week’s vacation in Florida.
I had a wonderful time sightseeing and visiting with family
(I have a brother that has wintered near Lake Okeechobee
for many years).
"This was my first time to see the Atlantic Ocean!"

Village Beach House located in Historic Cocoa Village, FL

While touring the historic Cocoa Village I came upon this very bright and happy shop filled with wonderful handcrafted objects from local artists.  The owner was warm and friendly and when I asked if I could take photos to share on my blog he was happy to oblige.  There was so much to see.   Here are a few photos of some unique items.   The owners of the shop are Jon & Shelly and you can find them at http://villagebeachhouse.com

I recommend their shop as a must-see
if you are ever near
Cocoa Beach, Florida

Water Bottle Holders.
What a great idea for using old jeans.
These would make wonderful gifts.

These purses were so unique with their belts, doilies, buttons and beads.  I love the gathered straps too.
Notice the picture frame, just right of the purses.
Pretty cool, don't you think?

These wind chimes were made of dyed oyster shells and driftwood.
They are so beautiful and they have a
very soothing serene sound to them.

I fell in love with these adorable dolls.
How cute would they be for a baby shower gift?

This painted fish put a smile on my face.  Very Florida!

A great chair for relaxing by the pool or lake.
I hope you enjoyed touring this little shop with me.
Cocoa Village is a very delightful area full of quaint shops, beautifully restored buildings, bright happy colors all mixed with palm trees and flower boxes flowing over with blooms and blossoms.  It's a place to stroll along and just breath in the atmosphere.
(all photos were taking by me, except the one of me, that was taken by Gladys Dale, my sister-in-law).

  1. Good morning! I live in Florida and I can tell you that you left in time, because this week here in central Florida is turning stormy & humid!

I've been to Cocoa but I don't think I visited that store. I'll have to look for it the next time I go back.

I can see you making some of those denim water bottle holders. They are cute!!

    1. Hi Kelly, If you have not visited the Historic Cocoa Village, you will have to put it down as your next road trip. Be sure to stop by VILLAGE BEACH HOUSE. While you are there, tell them that you saw this post on my blog. You will love their shop and the whole historic area. Very hip and happening place for the young and the young at heart. Oh, there was this little ice cream shop on a side street, best ice cream cone ever. Your friend, Connie

    1. Hi, Yes if you ever find yourself in CoCoa Beach be sure and visit. Not only is it a great store, but the owners are laid-back, warm and friendly. I hate shopping in places where either you don't get help when you need it or they cling to you and you don't feel free to look at your own pace. Nice of you to visit, your new blogging friend, Connie

  3. Hi, That looks like a fun shop to visit. I like the flower pots at the front of the store. It's nice to go visit family who happen to live on the coast. Our's live in Oregon on the coast and that just gives extra incentive to get over to the coast as often as possible. Take care, P.

  4. Hey There Patricia, Our daughter lives in Oregon and last spring we met her and our grandchildren for a three day weekend at New Port Beach. I love the Oregon coast, it is so beautiful there; much different from Florida. Rocks not shells, evergreens not palm trees, and a bit more chill in the air. God certainly spread a lot of beauty around this big old world we are living on. Thanks for visiting, Connie

  5. Sounds like such a wonderful vacation. Love the pics of the shops, how fun is that. Thanks for stopping by and your gracious comments. Also congratulations on achieving such an amazing task of loosing so much weight. You are superwoman. I am totally impressed. Hugs, Marty

  6. Thanks Marty, You know on TV shows like the Biggest Looser, they loose 5 to 15 pounds a week. I averaged 1 pound a week, but in doing so, I have learned a healthier way of living. I have confidence that I will keep it off. I was 60 before I became a grandma, and I want to be around to see my two granddaughters graduate, marry and hopefully have children of their own. They are 4 & 5 now so I've got to be taking better care of myself. Thanks again for the positive comments. I've never been called superwoman before. Your blogging friend, Connie

  7. Hi Connie...I checked your Profile and blog looking for an email address but didn't find one... so I wanted to comment on your comment andlet you know I'm one step closer to resolution...This is one battle I could have done without in my lifetime...giggle!

Bad news seems to come more often then good news...yesterday I got the results back from my blood test. My THS levels dropped again and I am now back to Hyperthyroid so Doctor wants me back on the meds that caused me to go Hypothyroid and landed me in the hospital..Seems like I get one step ahead and two steps backwards..That surgery can't come soon enough!

Thanks for stopping by sending prayers and well wishes your support is priceless!

    Have a Great weekend..

    Blessings Huggs
    Tonya

PS Hopefully you will add an email address to your blog soon so others can get back with you!!

  8. Connie! Your comment was wonderful, and I did eventually find it :) My sister has been telling me to start blogging again, lol, but it's very nice to hear it from someone I don't know in "real life". Speaking of real life has been crazy, hence the cessation of my blogging :) BUT whether or not I blog it, the crafting goes on... and for now, at least, I'm back :) Thank you for not giving up on me! Clare
