Taking Down Christmas

The day after New Year’s is one of my
major cleaning days.
The tree comes down, all the decorations are taken down
and packed away.  The only thing left up is the berry wreath
on the front door, which I leave up for another few weeks
and the lights on the outside of the house.
They got unplugged today, but will stay on the house
until we have a nice weekend without ice and snow.
We are way to safety conscience to be climbing ladders
in the snow.  We would much rather have them stay
on the house, than to be wearing a cast on one of our limbs
for the next six weeks, LOL.

Today is January 3rd and I plan on going into town
and mailing out Kay’s prize.
Then in the afternoon I’m meeting some dear friends
for a jam session.  I love these small get-togethers,
they are a great time to pick up tips and learn a new song or two.

These are a few photos from my very first post on January 6, 2012.
I cannot believe how tidy my studio is . . . I love it.
I don’t think that it has been that organized since these photos were taken.
So, that is going to be my ongoing project this month . . .
to clean out some of the junk that I have saved,
for who knows what (until I toss it and then remember),
but that is the way it goes.
At the moment all that I can think about is
having lots of counter space and room to create.

I have given up on making a list of resolutions
and just plan on taking it one project at a time.

  1. Hi Connie! I love your studio. I have mine spread throughout different rooms of our house. Writing and blogging in the bonus room off the living room, sewing in our bedroom, gift wrap stuff in the guest room, and my raw materials in the little playroom closet. How wonderful it would be to have everything all in one spot like you do!

I love your butterfly book too; it is gorgeous.

    1. Hi Kathy, it is always wonderful to hear from you. Thank you for the lovely comment. I do love my room, but it rarely ever looks as good as these photos. I went in there Wednesday to organize and clean and somehow after I was about 3/4's done and had lots of clear counter space . . . I started another project and another mess, LOL. It is wonderful having a room where I can just shut the door and not share my messes with the world. Someday . . . if and when it is ever clean again I may take a current photo, LOL.
Here's wishing you a new year filled with joy, may you have a song in your heart and a blue bird on your shoulder.
      God bless you,
      Your blogging sister, Connie :)

    2. Hi Susie, believe me my studio room is not this neat and organized all the time. I did a special clean-up before taking these photos . . . you would not enjoy seeing it when I'm in the thick of a project, LOL.
      Have a wonderful day.
      Your blogging sister, Connie :)

    1. Hi Nancy, I think it would be great to live closer and have time to jam with you. Sounds like a good reason to make a pot of tea and bake some cookies :)
