Machine Embroidery Excitement.

Since my last post I have had many sister bloggers
tell me that they have embroidery machines.

Some have been using their machine for years like,
Lynn at Shabby Story
http://www.shabbystory.com/

Some have not used them much at all.

Therefore; I have created a spot over in my right-hand column
where I have links to
their blogs.
If you are into machine embroidery and want to be included in this list,
please leave a comment and let me know.
I think we can all learn from each other :)
I also have some embroidery design downloads and software sites listed.
I personally have not tried downloading a design yet,
but that is something I want to try.

Here is my latest project.
I purchased these inexpensive tee shirts at Walmart,
and made Steve and I each a shirt to wear when sailing on Gypsy Rose.
Knit is a little harder to work with,
but I think they turned out pretty good.

When I get more experienced,
I'll purchase some better quality shirts and try again.
Maybe for next year :)

If you haven't put your name in the hat for my give-a-way, please check the post below.
You have until midnight Sunday, July 21st to get in on the fun.
You must follow my blog and leave a comment on that post to enter.

Good Luck . . . I don't know anyone that couldn't use a $25 Amazon gift card.
Buy art supplies or a good book :)
Or if you have seen what my dear friend Roxie
has done with duct tape,
you may decide to purchase some of that.
 at:
Sweet Vintage Of Mine

Duct tape is not what it used to be :)

Have a wonderful weekend
&
Check back Monday to see who the lucky winner is :)

Your blogging sister,

  1. Hi Connie, thank you very much for that link to bloggers who embroider. I received a machine for Christmas a few years ago, and I feel terribly guilty that I have not used it nearly as much as I should, partly because I just don't know anything apart from the most basic function! I am off to have a peek at some blogs for help and inspiration! Happy embroidering to you,
    BH x

  5. Your shirts look great. I have downloaded some free designs and it's a pretty easy process between downloading and retrieving it on your machine.

    1. Hi Ann, so here's my question. Do you save them on the hard-drive of your computer or in the hard-drive of your machine? My machine will only save amount a dozen, so I'm hoping that I can save them to my computer and then use them over and over through the years. It makes me nervous to try :)
      Have a great weekend.

    1. Hi Nancy, yes, our temperature is 94 right now and that is the coolest its been in about 5 or 6 days. We are a dry climate so I am having a time keeping the lawn and flowers green. I love summer, but I notice that as I get older the heat doesn't agree with me as much as my younger days :) Thanks for stopping by, I always enjoy your visits :)

  10. No kidding duct tape is not what it used to be! I used black duct tape on some cardboard magazine holders so they'd look fancier on my shelf (back in the day when I was trying to upscale my living room a bit). I was just talking to a friend last night about all sorts of stuff but including how back in the day you would hand embroider pillowcases and towels and put them in your hope chest. I was past that era and her mother told her she was too ugly to find a husband but both of us thought it would have been a neat skill to learn. However, I see now that a machine that does it for you is by far the best way to learn! Quicker results anyway.

    1. What kind of a mother tells her daughter that she is to ugly to get a husband. That is so sad :(

  12. Love your embroidered tee shirts Connie and I also love Gypsy Rose, she's a cracker. My daughter and her fiancé have just renovated a small motor boat and they launched her last weekend near to where we live and where they'll be cruising the canals through the Essex countryside. Have fun.

    1. Hi Patricia, I follow a couple blogs that are couples with narrow boats that cruise the canals. It looks like so much fun. I can see why it is so popular, just enjoying the views and stopping in villages along the way to tie up and spend a night or two. The more I travel through your beautiful country, through blogging, the more I long to take a trip there. Have a lovely weekend, Connie :)

  13. Hi Connie,

Love the shirts! At first I thought they were hand towels. I'd say you're feeling right at home with your embrodeiry machine.

Congrats to your giveaway winner, by the way.

    Hugs,
    Kay
