This quilt was a surprise for my daughter.
She visits my blog . . . so, I couldn't post this before Christmas.
There was no way that I could possibly wrap our darling granddaughters
in a handmade quilt,
without also wrapping a warm hug around our daughter, too.
After all; no matter how old she is,
she will always be our little girl :)
Here it is all quilted and getting the binding applied.
I sewed the binding to the quilt by machine and then hemmed it by hand.
Here is the finished quilt.
She has been doing yoga for at least nine years.
It's a great way to stay flexible and gain strength.
So, I choose to do a yoga theme in her quilt.
I'm enjoying my renewed love for sewing.
For so many years, by machine gathered dust
and was only used for mending.
When our daughter was young I made her school clothes
and mine as well,
but somewhere along the line I just lost the desire to sew.
Now, with the added time of retirement . . .
I am enjoying it all over again :)
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.
