Never Stop Praying and Asking For Your Dreams To Come True

Have you ever had a rabbit under the hat that you were wearing . . .
jumping around on your head for 6 weeks trying to get out.
Well, that is how I have been feeling lately.
i've been holding on to my hat and holding on,
but all the time wanting to release him.

I have been wanting to make this post for so long now . . .
but I didn't want to jump the gun . . .
or get ahead of the Lord.

SOLD . . .pulling up the sign.
"Welcome To Our Little 1905 Bungalow"

I have been praying for a little house in the country.
A place where I had room for a garden . . .and maybe a larger studio.

A place where Steve would have a bigger shop when he retires.

Well, never give up on your prayers and your dreams,
because the Lord answers them in His perfect timing,
not in our instant gratification kind of timing.

These are all photos of the house and property the way it looks today.
Yesterday . . . we signed the final papers.
and today we have the keys!

My blog will be filled with all of our make-over projects.
We will be working on a tight budget . . .
but I believe that you can do great things on small budgets.
I'm a strong believer in the power of style and elbow grease
and I'm going to have a ball proving my point :)

So this is our dream . . . stay tuned and watch it blossom :)

The Kitchen

The living and dining room

The mud room / laundry room

A bedroom
Fireplace . . . Butchy is going to love that window :)
The well house.
We have never lived anywhere where we didn't have city water.
There is going to be a lot of changes and things for us to learn.
Notice the grape vines and behind them are two fruit trees.
We are not sure want they are, time will tell.
Oh, we are in for many surprises and adventures.

Well, you can see that we have our work cut out for us . . .
I am so ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work :)

You may have noticed that there were no photos of the bathroom.
That's because all of the inside photos were taken for the real estate listing.
They didn't want you to see the bathroom,
because it might have kept you from looking at the house :)

We live for DIY . . .
so the bathroom will be the first thing
that we plunge(a little play on words) into.
There will be lots of before and after photos.
Please say a little prayer that our poor old backs will hold out :)

God bless you all . . .
and Keep smiling.
My goodness, can you tell how excited I am!

Your blogging sister,
Connie :)

  32. How cool is that!! Did you buy it just so you would have blog posts way into the future? Lol. just kidding.
BTW I am notifying all my blogger friends that their pictures have been stolen and posted on a site called
I have done a blog post on it.
I emailed them and had my photos removed and reported them to Google. Do a search on their site for your blog name and you will see your photos.

  33. Hello Connie, how exciting for both you and Steve, congratulations! How exciting to find a house that you can completely put your own stamp on, and truly turn into something that is yours, and your style. I am quite envious - although maybe not so much of all your hard work needed lol. But I am sure it will all be so very worth it and you will love living there. I am so happy for you!

  34. How exciting!! Will look forward to seeing your transformation pictures! Nancy

  35. What a neat story! Good luck with your new project. Sounds like a real adventure! And very rewarding too. God bless.

  36. Congratulations. How exciting. I've always thought it would be so much fun to buy an older house and fix it up. I look forward to seeing your progress

  37. Hi Connie,

Congratulations!!! I love the bungalow style. What a beautiful canvas to work with. I know you and Steve will have a wonderful time making it your own. After seeing the transformation of the Gypsy Rose I'm sure there will be wonderful woodwork to see. I was looking for a home that's a one level about a year ago. I found one that I fell in love with but the market wasn't in my favor. I didn't sell my little condo and the house was slowly taken off the market (after being listed for a year). I'm happy to say that I'm still in my little condo and have decided that I'll stay here until I can't walk up/down the stairs. I imagine that will be years to come. In the meantime, it's perfect for me and I know what I have. What I'm getting at is that I agree with you, God does things on his timetable and it's not necessarily ours. BUT, if you open your eyes you understand.

Congratulations, once again. Is it in the same town and close to a boat ramp?

    1. Hi Kay, yes in fact we are only about three miles from your other home. We'll be putting it on the market as soon as we get this one fixed up enough to move in. Hey, it's a one story. Have you ever thought about moving to Washington?

  38. Hi Connie!

I just saw your blog link on A Sunday Drive and decided to check it out. I'm now a follower! I'm a 4th degree Black Belt in TaeKwonDo and a children's author. 39. O'h Connie how wonderful,I am going to watch with great excitement, all these things happen in Gods time and he must have thought it was your time...well done, have fun I know we will watching you xx

  40. Wow Connie I am so excited to hear your news. It's wonderful. Like you I believe that if it's meant to be the Lord will provide in his own time. I can't wait to see your transformations. I will send up some prays for your backs to stay strong while you work hard :) Have a lovely week.
    Ali xx

  41. Dearest Connie, YEAH! I'm sooooo happy for you! That 1905 Cottage is A*D*O*R*A*B*L*E!! I can see much potential and LOVE the built-ins in the bedroom. My favorite is the front of the house with that SWEET porch and dormer window upstairs! That would have gotten me there! The living and dining rooms are perfect together with that fireplace~~~~~I know what you've got facing you but it is a labor of love! Make it your own~~~can't wait to see what you do in the garden! Blessings~~~Roxie

    1. Hi Roxie, I'm still pinching myself . . . and feeling very blessed for this new beginning. One of our new neighbors (right next door) is a couple that Steve has own for longer than our marriage and that I have known for around 35 years. They are sweet Christians and empty nesters, like us. So, we are already feeling welcomed to the neighborhood :)

  42. This is such exciting news! Congratulations on getting the house! I look forward to following your crafty progress....and to seeing the fruit trees in bloom!
    Helen xox

  43. Congrats on your new home! How exciting!

  46. Your excitement is contagious! I'm smiling. You are going to have a blast making this your own. I'll be waiting to see the photos. I was just look at a new "toilet" online yesterday. I might take the "plunge"....giggle.

    1. Yep, a new toilet is on our shopping list, too :)

  47. Hi Connie, just stopping by to say how delightful your blog is. Thanks so much for sharing. I have recently found your blog and am now following you, and will visit often. Please stop by my blog and perhaps you would like to follow me also. Have a wonderful day. Hugs, Chris

  48. I am so excited that the house is finally yours.

I can't wait to see what you do with it.

I was looking around our house today and thinking about the changes we have made and those still waiting. It will be long time before we are finished, if ever, but it is worth it.

  49. Oh, Connie!!!! I am so excited for you guys. I can't wait to see how you brighten up the kitchen (cuz I know that you won't be afraid to paint over that paneling). I am so happy for you. I woke up this morning and heard the news that my dreams are coming true too. Btw, I posted a short one about our trip this morning. Love you!

    Kathy M.
