Sneak A Peek

 I have been working nonstop
trying to get my new home, yard and property in tip top shape.
&
I've come to this concussion.

Rome Wasn't Built In A Day!
SNAP OUT OF IT ! ! !

Do you remember the day my barn arrived?
This is how it looked.

Then we started insulating it.
Little did we know that, that was the easy part.
Well, it is not finished,
but I've moved a few boxes around to create
a few sneak peeks
to show you that I have been working on it.
My sewing machines are ready . . .
and I have fabric cut to make curtains for the mud room in the bungalow.

When I'll have time to sew is somewhere out of sight at the moment.

Maybe you noticed in some of these photos,
that the walls are mostly painted
and the floor is in :)
Some books are unpacked and on the shelves.

and some items are finding a home on other shelves.

I'm not throwing my hands up and quitting,
like my little friend here,
but I am going to remember to slow down . . .
and get in a little relaxation time . . .

in other words I'm going to  . . .

SNAP OUT OF MY "GOT TO GET IT DONE" MODE
&
Remember that Rome truly was not built in a day, LOL.

Keep Smiling!
Your blogging sister,

Connie :)

  1. Yeah! You inspire me! We got a new shed too...and it is slowly but surely coming along. It's for The Honey and all his wonderful tools.
I'd love a shed. But...I have an entire house, that he pretty much lets me decorate however I want with a few exceptions. I'd rather not have a BASS trophy fish on the living room wall-- But hey... I call my style "eclectic"! I have a whole room to use as crafts now. AND I STILL DON'T HAVE IT THEY WAY I'D LIKE. Your shed is looking pretty nice. You should link up to Where Bloggers Create-- its a link party this saturday @ my desert cottage ...this post would get lots of atta girls.
I totally agree with taking the highroad and letting the days work take care of itself. ;) Pat

    1. Hi Pat, I always have a list of "To Do's" that only a team of Navy Seals could accomplish in a day's time. No one puts it on me, I am great at doing that all by myself. It's time to look in the mirror and realize that I'm not as young as I used to be, and take more time smelling the roses and less time weeding them, LOL. Thanks for visiting :)

    1. Hi Sandy, I know that my time is just around the corner, and it is going to me wonderful. It is just so easy to see the goal and wear myself out trying to get there too soon. My poor old body is just breaking down lately . . . I think that it is a combo of working too many hours around here and the intense heat that we are experiencing. No rain for months and weather in the high 90's and going into 3 digits next week.

  8. Oh I am so happy you are going to "snap out of it" sounds like a good idea. Me thinks you and hubby need to take a road trip and relax a bit. I was worn out just doing our front porch and turning the gas grill into a charcoal grill in one day. Can't imagine how you did it. Well, all your hard work shows and you did a wonderful job making a house a home. Take care and have a great day.

    1. Hi Kathy, We are very blessed that this property came with a huge cement block shop. Now Steve has his creative space and I have mine. Once he is retired, too, I think having a little time apart will be a good thing, especially when we will only be about 50 feet apart and a phone call away if we need each other :) 24/7 is too much time to spend with anyone, even if it's the one you love the most :)

    1. Hi Fran, I still have the ends of the loft space to get insulated and some more painting to do. Then it is just little jobs that can be fun. It's the insulating the loft that is bugging me the most. It's a tight space and it's hot up there. I've been watching a You Tube video on spray-on insulation and thinking about that. Have you or Pete ever used it?

  16. Dear Connie,
What a joyous space you have created!! I can only imagine the hours, and days of creating, and happiness you shall have, in your new space!!!
I especially like the white walls.....lets the art work really shine, and even the art supplies look like little pieces of artwork.

I adore the fabric choices you have for the curtains in your cottage mud room . Looking forward to seeing them finished.

    Have a wonderful evening.

    1. Hi Kerin, thank you for your sweet comments. I am at a place where a little encouragement is very helpful. I really want to get those curtains made and put up. The mud room is on the west side of the house and having curtains up will help cool the room in the afternoon. Also the people that had this home before, let the sprinklers hit the windows and we have extremely hard water. It has taken a lot of elbow grease and steel wool to just get them to a point of being able to see through them. Really! New windows are one of the main things on our "to do list" and we hope to have them in before cold weather. Fixing up an old house requires a lot of patience. The Lord has been working on me and patience for a long time and halleluiah, He never gives up. I feel assured that one day I'll get it :) Thanks for stopping by and visiting, I appreciate it :) Have a lovely weekend.

I like what you said about decorating over and over . . . that statement is so true, LOL. Soon we will both be cozy and comfy in our new cottages . . . I have been enjoying your posts and watching your progress.

    1. Hi Leann, it is very hard to remember, but my body has started to respond to the all work and no play mode that I've been in. If I don't slow down and learn how to pace myself, I know that I'll be having doctor visiting in my future. I dislike going to the doctor about as much as I dislike crawling into a snake pit . . . so I'm slowing down :)
