Look What We Are Up To Now!

This is our main transportation this week.
Yup!  We are busy making our little acre our own.
This week we are leveling the back
for a place to park the boat, the old pick-up and RV.
That will be half of this space,
the other half will be more garden for next spring planting:)
We are also getting our electric all up dated and finished.
It is a busy week.
Today we are picking up railroad ties to divide the parking from the garden.
We have a gravel coming this afternoon,
so we will be out raking and spreading
what sounds like two or maybe three dump truck loads.

That is why I'm asking for the help of three sisters to volunteer to help me.
No, not to spread gravel, but to help with a Blog Hop.

Well, this is the first time that I have ever joined a Blog Hop,
And now I am having a hard time finding three sisters to volunteer.
I’m sure that you have all seen the Blog Hop that is going on.

Kay of

asked me and I really don't want to disappoint her.

Please visit her blog and see what's going on.

I would need a short bio from each of you,
By Sunday evening, so that I could post them by Monday, with a link to your blogs.
This is a good way to introduce your blog to new readers.
I’ve been so busy and the sisters that I have asked are all too busy at the moment.
Please, please, please . . . I don’t want to disappoint Kay by not following through.

The first three of you that voluteer,
I will get back to with my email address
and more information.

Forever grateful!

Connie:)

  3. Hi Connie!
that big ol' tractor is going to make easy work of that parking arena! I do not envy the gravel work. Hope you can use the tractor for the brunt of that work and not have to use shovels and rakes so much. :)
As a rule -- I don't usually, do TAGS AND AWARDS... but If your 3 slots are not filled, I'd love to participate. I've seen the Creative Blog Hop and it looks both fun and friendly-- a great way to promote one another's blogs and get to know other ladies.
    have a great afternoon.

    1. Hi Carol, the gravel arrived today . . . 4 large dump truck loads, so tomorrow we will be spreading it. Busy, busy, busy . . . that's life, the first year after purchasing a fixer-upper. Next year should be so much easier, LOL. Thanks for stopping by. I can not wait to see your finished bedroom.

  6. I've come over to meet you from my friend Kay's TCBH post, Connie! I've become your newest follower and I'd love to have you visit me and join my blog, too, if you like! I found your intro bio to be very engaging and can't wait to see your hop post next Monday. I have been in the hop and I know several ladies who have just had to have their branch end with them because they couldn't find people to tag. You just do the best you can and I say just leave it open. If you find someone weeks from now that you think might like to jump in, go for it. As you said, it's a wonderful way to get to know each other!! See you next Monday! (Your plans for the acre sound great!) Hugs, Darnell

    1. Hello Sweet Darnell, you have no idea how soothing your kind words are to this busy gal. I had no idea that it would be this hard to get sisters to hop on to the Hop, but this is a busy time for a lot of people. My husband took this week off from work so that we could get some of our big jobs done around here and we have been hitting it hard all week. Today we are spreading the gravel that arrived yesterday and then we are starting to dig a ditch for the electric to my Art Barn. Yesterday I was in there moving everything to the center of the room, so the electrician can do the wiring on Saturday.
Thank you again for your sweet words. I feel better having someone say that I don't need to worry if I do not get three blogging sisters to hop on board. Also, Thank you for following my blog, I enjoy making new friends and sharing ideas. Blogging has made the world seem smaller and friendlier . . . it doesn't matter where we live, we have so many common goals and common interests. Life is good:)

What a transformation on the cottage and land!!

    1. Hi Kerin, I have two sisters that have said that they will Hop with me. I need one more, but if I don't get another, that's will be okay. I'll resort back to the old saying, "Two is company and Three's a crowd", LOL. I've decided not to get caught up in it and spend any more time worrying:). Now back to work! We have gravel to spread and ditches to dig:)

    1. I don't know, it's a pretty ruff ride. Steve has had his new management job for 8 years and getting back in the driver's seat is working his legs like crazy. Those things are run with lots of foot pedals.

  12. Hi Connie, thanks! And thanks for your lovely comment on my blog. So nice to hear from you. One day I would like to visit the US but like you visiting the UK, think it is extremely unlikely lol! Blogging is great because you can see so many lovely photos and get a feel of different places. We have a lot of very narrow roads here, particularly in the area where we live, with room for only one car, and you often have to back up to allow them to pass. We also have very high banks either side of the road so you can't see what's coming! Visitors are terrified, but living here, we've got used to it. I'm so glad you enjoyed my Plymouth photos. Just up the hill from there, is the place where the Pilgrim Fathers left on the Mayflower - there's an archway and a plaque. We always try to take our American visitors to see it!

Thank you for your kind words about my work - I don't really consider myself to be a card maker and only make them when necessary. I much prefer to explore mixed media art! I am about to start some evening classes in felt making which will be something new. Like you, I love to make things from recycled, cheap, or better still, free materials, creating something beautiful out of something that would otherwise be thrown away. It stretches your imagination and you start looking at things in a different way - my hubby thinks I'm mad when I keep saying "I wonder if I could make art out of that?" Lol!

Talking of history, my hubby has been taking part in a local archaeological dig - they open up the site each year. They have discovered a Roman settlement, which is very exciting as it's the first evidence that they settled this far west. We have a lot of history here, much of it still beneath our feet!

I love your new bungalow and everything you are doing with it - it's so homely, and so pretty. Your house is older than ours lol! Ours was built in 1925. It still has quite a lot of its original features. Like you, I did a whole series of blog posts about the renovations we had done when we were moving, and there are lots of photos. I can't believe it's all a year ago now! So much has happened and the time goes so quickly.

  13. Hey, Connie! Wow, I can't wait to see the "after" pictures. I'm not able to do the blog hop, because we are getting ready to go (plus, the topic on my blog right now isn't really what I want brand new people seeing, lol). I did visit Kay's blog though. Thanks so much for stopping over to see me this morning.

    Hugs,

I had a look through some of your posts...love what you did with your work top surface, clever idea marking the measurements and grid on there! Oh, and the cowboy boot corsages are a fab idea. Might have to make some of my own!
