Washi Tape Make-Over & A New Roof

Get that Washi Tape out of the Craft Room . . .
And into the Kitchen:)

The other day I was going down an isle at Wal-Mart
And I spied a picked over display of Washi Tape for 97 cents.

There were only three rolls of this red and white and I bought two.
If I would have had this idea then,
I would have bought all three.

 Before

After

Well, I didn't have enough to do all
of my kitchen cupboards,
but I like what I did.

 Not bad for a couple of dollars . . .
What do you think?

We also had roofers come this week
and put on a new roof.
We are trying to get all of the major jobs done
before we are both retired.

 And having a 30 year roof should
last us . . .
well until we don't need a roof anymore,LOL.

Needless to say the roof make-over was
a bit more expensive than the
Washi Tape.

Ever if the Washi Tape make-over was the cutest, LOL.

Have a great day,
&

Spring Decorating :)

My thoughts are . . .
If I decorate for Spring,
will it hurry up and get here?

Do you remember the lovely gate
our sweet neighbors gave me?

I spray painted it with flat white paint.

And now it has a home inside.

I wish that I would have taken a before and after photo
of this lovely bouquet.
I arranged the flowers the first time . . .
Arranging flowers is not something that I am talented at, LOL.
My sweet friend Shirley is great at it
and she was gracious and redid my flowers for me.
I love them now :)
Like I said I should have done a before & after
then you would know what I'm talking about:)

This is my finished Springtime fireplace.

I made this sign yesterday afternoon.

 It started here in Steve's scape pile.

Then I painted it and made stencils on my circut cutter.

Cut some flowers and butterflies from old wallpaper boarder.

And it was done.

I then made a little banner to add some color.

I am very happy with the results.
Really we have been having some very lovely weather,
but rain or shine . . .
it is Springtime inside our little home:)

 Do you see the little black box up by the ceiling?
That was our weekend project.
We finally installed Steve's
surround sound system from our old house.

 We didn't have trim around our ceiling before . . .
I hate wires showing,
so now we have trim . . . cool, right:)
I hope that you enjoyed your visit.
That you will leave a comment
&
that you'll return another day.

So for now, me and my sidekick Butchy
will wish you all a fun and happy day.

Keep Smiling.

Goodwill Make-Overs

Do you remember the stool I bought at the Goodwill?

Before.

After.

I like it :)

I forgot to show you this find . . .
Goodwill $2.99
Before it had a wood grain back with brass hooks.
I was blessed in the fact that the little white knobs came off for painting.

Now it hangs in my mud-room/laundry-room . . .

To hold extra hangers.

 I've had time to work on my next quilt.

I'm doing what is called a quilt as you go.
They are great for doing freehand
stitching on regular sized machines:)
No need for a longarm machine.

Look at the robins sitting in our trees . . .
I've always heard that seeing robins
means that Spring is right around the corner :)

Garden Gate Treasure

This morning my phone rang
and it was my dear sweet friend and neighbor,
 telling me that she had an old wire garden gate
and did I want it?

~~~~~*****~~~~~
Oh my yes!!!
 ~~~~~*****~~~~~

If you could see me,
I'm dancing my happy dance . . .
not the prettiest of sights to see, LOL.

~~~~~*****~~~~~
Isn't it beautiful!
 ~~~~~*****~~~~~
You can see that, that was not a question . . .
I know it's beautiful !

Have a glorious day,
and if your phone rings . . . run . . .
I say RUN, to answer it.

You could have a neighbor
doing spring cleaning
with
a treasure waiting for you :)

A New Shelf and A Goodwill Jackpot!

I was helping Steve put in a new ceiling in his shop last week.
We had to move everything in the shop twice to get all the work done.
Among his stacks of wood was this topper to a cabinet
that he had made us in our other house.

 It was 10 feet long and already had a trim along the edge.
I was already thinking about building a shelf up in my barn rafters,
and I needed it to be eight feet long.  Perfect:)

It was a win-win . . . easy to build and it helped him
clear out his shop  . . .
you can't beat a deal like that:)

I also made a very profitable trip to the Goodwill.
This little birdhouse, perfect for the front porch $3.99

These little girl ice skates $6.99.
Can you see them painted red with white polka dots?
Perfect for hanging outside next Christmas :)

This great stool  . . . ready for painting . . .
Just $3.99.

Last but not least, this bag of stuff for $1.99.
Look what's inside:

These napkin rings . . .
And these . . .
And these . . . aren't they cute.
Perfect for a little country cottage like ours :)

With the money I saved I bought these :)

If any of you have articles published in either of these,
please tell me in the comment that you leave.

I love hearing about my blogging friends being published.
What a dream, right :)

Have any of you been published at any time?

Have a lovely day
