Graduation Trip To Oregon.

We have been away on a trip to Oregon.
There was lots of family time,
campfire stories, and laughter.
The highlight of our trip was . . .
 Our daughter's graduation.
Now she has a bachelor's degree in registered nursing.
As well as, a new job starting in August.
Everything is good except that she will be living farther away from us.
Well, that's what cars are for:)
We camped at beautiful Wallowa Lake.
Where we walked some trails,
played on the water,
did a round of mini golf and rode the Wallowa Tram.
I wish that I had more photos, but I was having fun, not taking photos.
That and the fact that I don't post photos of our daughter and grands.
Just believe me I have some good ones:)

One other high-lite of our trip . . .
was a 5-minute stop along the trip home
for a hug from my sweet blogging sister, Nancy.
"A Joyful Cottage"
Nancy was wearing a gorgeous sun hat
and planting flowers around her cottage
when we pulled up.
It was a surprise stop that just happen to work out:)
If you don't know Nancy . . .
you can visit her charming blog here:

Oh, look at this.
There is a nest with three baby bald egles, in the park:)
This is a parent standing guard.
Well, I've got to get to work . . .
I have a camper to unload and laundry and yard work to do.
We had a lovely five days:)
Thank you all for the comments that you left
on my Old Geezer Swimming Hole post.
I read them all and appreciate your sweet friendship.
Keep Smiling.
Connie :)

    1. Hi Teresa.
We live in Central Washington and she has a job starting in Medford, Oregon in August.
I just looked it up, she will be 490.8 miles away. That's seems so far.

  4. Congratulations to your daughter! You must be very proud! My sister is a registered nurse and works for Hospice...she is truly an angel! The camping trip sounds wonderful...fresh air and sunshine and God's amazingly beautiful creation! Pure bliss! The hubby and I want a camper really bad but it's pretty far down on the wish list right now. My dream is to find a vintage one and redo it...:) I'm sure his dream is opposite of mine after all the work we have been doing on our home...lol! Have a lovely day!

Living in Florida I would think that you could find a lot of good deals. We bought ours on Craig's list.

    1. Dear Connie, I do hope for your sake that your daughter is able to move closer . . . I know it is going to be hard having ours living so far away. It could be worst . . . they could live on the other side of the globe. I met Nancy about 6 weeks ago when I visited my daughter and grands, and it was so nice to see her again . . . even if only for a moment. We were driving through her town and only about a block from her home, so I took the chance that she would be there. Only stayed for about 5 minutes, but long enough to receive a warm welcome and a sisterly hug :)

  14. When I saw that little wooded pathway, I was suddenly back in Oregon and could smell it! How I miss it and always will. I love my state of California but it was a shock when we moved from Oregon to Southern California. It felt barren..and dry and I missed the flowers and green of Oregon Probably always will.
I wish I was young enough to still travel such distances. Beautiful place, Oregon.

  17. Hi Connie, Congratulations to your daughter!! What an accomplishment! Thank you for the post card. I enjoyed getting it and seeing where you were. Beautiful spot! Bob had arthroscopic surgery on his knee today. A torn meniscus and a loose bod. He should be doing well in a week or two. Everything went well thankfully! It seems I have Lyme disease. Waiting for another test to come back and hopefully I can start treatment. Whatever it is has slowed me down. i enjoy seeing your house and yard and crafts. Thanks for sharing! Nancy

  18. Hi, Connie - I just stopped by to visit from A Joyful Cottage. I love what I've seen here and I just couldn't stop by without saying hi. You weren't far from my home when you came for your daughter's graduation. OHSU is a short trip north from my suburb of Portland. Congratulations to your daughter. I will stop by again to see what you have to share.

    1. Hello Adrienne, thank you for visiting, I love making new friends. We are so proud of her, it is a hard program to get into. When she applied they had over 1,000 students apply and only excepted 24. She attend school at their LaGrande, Oregon campus. She is a single parent with two young girls ages 7 and 9. So, we are proud of all three of them. Our granddaughters were so supportive of their Mamma learning to wash clothes and fold and put them away, and wash dishes, and take out trash. They also became avid readers . . . giving their momma quiet time to study. This graduation ceremony was for all three of our sweet girls and our granddaughters where the ones to go on stage and pin their momma:) Thanks for stopping my to visit. My welcome mat is always out.
