I had a little fun this weekend . . .
Our neighbors were away for the weekend,
so I planned a little surprise for them.
Her favorite candy is candy corn . . .
so I made this sign.
I cut some wood scraps in the shape of
candy corn,
And made a drop cloth bag to
hold candy corn :)
When everything was made,
I loaded the tractor cart with chrysanthemums,
pumpkins and corn stocks and away I went.
Oh, these pumpkins are from my garden,
corn stocks, too:)
The egg bucket and chickens
are her's and were already on the porch.
So I tweaked them into my surprise.
I love that egg bucket!

Welcome Home . . .
and this is hanging on the door
filled with
Candy Corn, of course :)
Have A Great Day!
&
Keep Smiling!
Your blogging sister,
Connie :)
What a wonderful neighbour you are I would love to live next door to you :-)
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Kay, I think that we would make lovely neighbors, but as far as me being a good neighbor, I'm just trying to be half the neighbor that my neighbor is to me. Wow, that's a lot of "neighbors" for one sentences, LOL.
DeleteI need a neighbor like you! How sweet of you. :)
ReplyDeleteYou're a sweetie, thank you :)
DeleteSuch a cute sign! That was so thoughtful of you to make for your neighbor too! Hope you had a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteWe had a wonderful weekend . . . we even started building a greenhouse. We are using the old window that we took out of the house last fall :)
DeleteAre there any houses for sale in your neighborhood?????? I would love to be your neighbor, too. What a sweet and thoughtful gift for her! You are the best :)
ReplyDeleteThat is so sweet of you to say. I have to admit that this is just a very small kindness compared to the kindness of our neighbors. They are the best!
DeleteWhat a sweet gesture! And it's so cute!
ReplyDeleteThank you :) We have the best neighbors ever, so it is nice to be able to return some of the love they have shown us.
DeleteWhat a wonderful surprise. I've always said I wish you lived next door....I'll say it again! heehee! Have a wonderful week! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteHi Diane, thank you, it would be nice having you as a neighbor, too. I think we could have a lot of fun hanging out together :)
DeleteNow that is what I call neighbourly, a beautiful and thoughtful welcome home. It goes a long way.
ReplyDeleteIt was a lot of fun, and they were surprised by it. We have the very best neighbors ever, so being able to give a little back was my pleasure :)
DeleteCandy corn is my absolute favorite! Sweet decorations!!
ReplyDeleteWow! Well, the two of you are the first two that I have ever heard say that candy corn was their favorite. I'm more of a Snickers or peanut-butter cup girl, LOL.
DeleteI'm with the others.. I would love to have a neighbor as nice as you! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteYour A Sweetie to say that :) The truth is that our neighbors are so kind and it felt good just being able to surprise them and share a little of the love that they always send our way :)
DeleteCan I be your neighbor, Connie? What a sweet thing to do...and you also did a fabulous job! I am sure your neighbor must have been blessed beyond measure!
ReplyDeleteHi Debby, thank you for your kind words. I've never grown pumpkins before so it was fun having them to share and making the sign and the corn was just a lot of fun for me. The couple that live next door to us are the best . . . they share their love with everyone they know and it was fun being able to give them a little of the kind of thing they do for others all of the time :)
DeleteWhat an awesome surprise to come home to. I want to be your neighbor :)
ReplyDeleteI'll send you a real estate brochure, LOL.
DeleteYou are such. Sweet thoughtful neighbor! What a great welcome home for them! I love everything so please come help me decorate!
ReplyDeleteOh, it would be so much fun decorating together :)
DeleteOh how sweet! Can you come be my neighbor? You are so thoughtful and your friend is going to be so tickled to come home to this lovely welcome. Candy corn is the best fall candy in my opinion too! Of course I have a favorite for every season. Doesn't everybody? :)
ReplyDeleteHugs, Vicky
Hi Vicky, I had no idea that candy corn was so popular. Something that I always liked in the fall was my Momma's homemade popcorn balls. She made them with Karo syrup. I haven't had one of those in over 55 years years.
DeleteOh gosh...it would be wonderful to have a neighbor like you living next store to me. Recovering from hernia surgery a colonoscopy last week, so a little cheer would have been gladly accepted. I am sure she was totally surprised.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Louise . . . I do hope that you are feeling better, by the time you read this. If I lived closer I would come decorate your porch and bring you a little cheer. God bless you :)
DeleteI think you are the BEST & SWEETEST Neighbor!!! Plus you are so talented to create something just for her! I LOVE IT!
ReplyDeletewarmly,

Oh I missed this post I bet she loved it and knew immediately who did it....I wish you were my neighbor!
ReplyDeleteCarol
Hi Connie,
ReplyDeleteYour gardening shed looks great! At first I thought it might be a chicken coop!
I bet your neighbor was tickled pink when she saw her new porch decorations and a bag full of candy corn!! Yum.
As for me; haven't been in the mood to blog. It's terrible, I know. I've been back to work full time for about seven weeks and I'm also trying to get my condo ready to put on the market. That's taken a lot more time than what I thought. I've had the ceilings re-painted, painted a bathroom and painted my front door. Maybe I should finish one room and share.... haaa.
Thanks for thinking of me!
Hugs,
Kay
Hi Kay, It is always a delight when I see that you have visited and left a comment. It was not fun when we sold our house last year . . . we lived in it for thirty-three years and it was a fine home to us, but when it was time to get it ready to sell and it seemed like there was so much we had to do to get it ready. It's a process and I feel for you. Just know that I think of you often and wish you the very best. A quick sell and on to a new adventure :) We finished the Potting Shed today and I just posted photos about 5 minutes ago . . . come take a look.
