This is My Question

Do You decorate your bathroom,
for Christmas?

Well, I am in a Christmas decorating mood . .  .
and because I had a new red bathroom rug
and red towels in storage, that I bought for the old house.
I decided to get them out and use them to
Christmas up my bathroom.
I wanted a white shower curtain with red trim,
and of course I couldn't find what I wanted anywhere.
Then I spied these white waffle textured fabric shower curtains
at Walmart for $10 each.
The way our bathroom is designed it takes two shower curtains.
I choose red checks because they have a country look . . .
and will serve for more than just Christmas.
 Here they are . . .
not bad for a $10 bargain.
One of the things that our bathroom
originally came with, when we bought the house,
was this old pipe shower curtain rod.
We looked at new ones and found
that none of them where even close to
being as strong as this. . .
so we kept it.
I then decided to decorate the bathroom with
old galvanized buckets and pans, to match the old pipe.
Those sea shells and ornaments are in
an old gold panning dish
and the wash cloths are in a galvanized bucket.

Have you started decorating yet?

    1. You can't go wrong with white fabric shower curtains . . . just think of all the ways you can change them.
I might buy another couple and put a nautical trim on them, for summer.

    1. Hi Nancy, we got our tree done last night, and put up our outdoor nativity yesterday. My Christmas boy is feeling very good about it . . . he has had such a nice time being home all week that I know Monday morning is going to be hard going back to work. We're looking forward to the day that he can retire, too :)

  4. Connie, I love your bathroom Christmas touches. I think it's good to do a bit of decorating for each new season, and Christmas colours would be so cheery as your Winter sets in.

    1. I think that the red checks will stay up for awhile . . . they look very country . . . I'll just remove the Christmas touches after the holidays. Those white shower curtains were a bargain and I'm already thinking about doing another set in a nautical theme for summer.

  5. Your bathroom looks very festive. It's actually funny that you asked this question today. I cleaned the bathroom earlier this morning and I changed out a few things and put in Christmas stuff. I don't have a big bathroom but I have a little shelf on the wall that I decorated

    1. This is something that I have not done before, other than throwing down a colorful rug and guest towels, so it was kind of fun :)

  6. I have just put some Christmas fabric on some plain towels to fancy up the bathroom. Yours looks beautiful, great bargain on the shower curtain.

    1. The idea of fabric on towels and shower curtains is something new that is very appealing to me.
It's such an easy way to get a designer look with simple store bought objects.

  7. No, I've never decorated the bathroom, but for some unknown reason I am really in the Christmas spirit...already! I just may decorate the bathroom this year too. I love the shower curtain, and the other Christmas touches. You are good at that!!

  9. I have been known to put a candle in my guest bathroom with a little wreath around it.. but our master bath doesn't get any attention as we're the only ones who use it. I love what you've done with yours and think your pipe shower rod is fab! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

    1. Well, I don't know about fab, but it certainly is strong and does have a uniqueness about it, right? We only have the one bathroom in this house and something that we have had to get used to . . . it's hard going back to one, but we are managing . . . at least there is just the two of us, most of the time. No family bathroom lines, LOL :)

  17. So cute!

I don't decorate the bathroom or kitchen mainly because Steve can only take so much. The kitchen is his domain so I don't invade and our bathroom is too small for extra decor.

  18. Hi Connie. Your bathroom looks great. The galvanized pipe shower rod reminds me of something I'd see at Simply Sandy's in Joseph (you're familiar with that store, I know). Very farmhouse, and the galvanized buckets and pan are perfect accessories for it. I really like that little shelf on your window. I assume Steve added that. What a fun spot to decorate! Your "new" shower curtain is a wonderful addition and will look good long after Christmas has passed. Red and white is one of my favorite color combinations. So fresh and crisp. Well done, my friend! Hugs, Nancy

    1. Hi Nancy, when we moved in I checked out many sites in order to find a chrome shower curtain rod, but they were just not as strongly made as the galvanized pipe. So, keeping it was one of those "when in Rome do as the Roman's" kind of thing . . . so I just decorated around it. Galvanized buckets seems very farmy and country so they worked, LOL. What I didn't realize was that after going to the farm supply store to buy my buckets, I started seeing them everywhere in decorating stores. I may start using my farm supply stuff for gardening and replace with cuter decorator galvanized bins.

  19. I don't decorate the bathroom normally, but I recently found a brand new Christmas shower curtain at the thrift store for $3...so it inspired me and I will be this year...Your shower curtain is lovely...thanks for the inspiration! I don't begin decorating for the holidays until after December 1st...it maybe even later this year as we are in a fully kitchen renovation right now!!

  21. I have put up my little crafty tree I made on Thanksgiving and a little salt shaker and a couple of elves. That's it. Oh, and a couple of Christmas pillows on the bed. I am not decorating until the bed goes upstairs and I have more room in this room I'm living in. The deadline to have it done is December 8! We'll see how it goes.
And yes, I decorate my bathroom. Besides the kitchen, it's the most visited room!

  22. What a cozy lovely bathroom. Good thinking about the shower curtains. They are splendid. Probably the closest I would get to decorating my bathroom would be pine-scented air freshener - except I don't use air fresheners. Or those pine trees they hang in cars. So I really appreciate when other people have skills in this area.

  25. Oh Connie! I want to come stay at your house! I love how cozy the bathroom feels with all the red and green touches. It makes me wish my guest bathroom remodel was complete so I could decorate. I usually do decorate it but it is being gutted and is a MESS! I am thankful though as it was in dire need of a renovation. I love the shower curtains you found. I need to check those out for my bathroom when it's complete. I love how you added the band of fabric to it. I can do that! LOL! Have a great week my sweet friend.

Hey, those shower curtains are a steal at that price and you can make them anything you want with a little fabric and trim. I think white cotton lace would be a pretty touch, too.
