Vintage Kitchen Set

The church that we attend
has a silent auction once a year.
I decided to make this 3 piece
Vintage Kitchen Set,
for the auction.
 Banner
Apron

Flour Sack Dish Towel

I hope someone likes it enough
to make a nice donation :)

Well, that's what I've
been doing . . .

Tomorrow, is our anniversary . . .
40 years . . .

this long, LOL.

    1. Hi Nancy, Thank you so much . . . it is wonderful being married to a christian man and a man that loves me and thinks I'm beautiful . . . truth is I'm a Plain Jane and always have been, but he see me through his heart and it feels so good. I am a blessed woman :)

  3. Congratulations on your wedding anniversary. I hope you have a great time celebrating whether you go out on the town or just stay home and have a quiet time.

As usual, your projects turned out so amazing. I think there will be good "bids" on that for sure.

    1. We talked about going out, because it's what people do, but the truth is we love being home together more than any place else on earth. So we are planning, if weather permits, on having dinner out on the porch and staying home. I'm delighted that you like my project for the auction, thank you :)

    1. Hello Miss Merry, let me be the first to congratulate you and your husband. Life is good when you are blessed enough to have that perfect mate. When you get married 40 years sounds like such a long time away . . . but oh how the years fly by. It seems like such a short period of time, when you look back at it from this side of 40 :) I am happy that you like my project for the auction, I do hope it does well.

    1. This is so cool we share the same anniversary :) You were probably like us, we could have had added one more day to our little weekend honeymoon in Seattle, but we thought that if we married on April 1st we would never stop hearing April Fools, LOL. I was pinched for time last night and visited your blog, but didn't leave a comment . . . I can imagine your Dad standing on the porch with a shoot gun chasing the boys away . . . what a beauty :)

    1. Thanks so much, I used transfer paper to add the flour sack prints to the flour sack fabric. I love that stuff and have used it in many of my crafting and sewing projects.

    1. Thank you on both counts. The money from the auction goes toward a senior trip to Chicago. Our kids will get a chance to see the big city and to work in some of the missions and soup kitchens, it will be a great experience for them and a culture shock from living in our small town.

    1. The road called marriage is filled with highs and lows, but those couples that can come together and weather the bad times grow stronger in faith and in love. I can not imagine spending my life with any other person than my Steve. In many ways we are opposites, but we balance each other well :)

  11. Congratulations on your 40th! We're a little more than a year behind you. I'm so thankful for a loving husband. Enjoy your dinner together.

    1. I hope that you are right about the bidding. We have other plans on the afternoon of the auction so I won't be there to see. It will be interesting to hear what they bring. It sounds like we both were blessed with the perfect match. It's funny how you feel so in love when you marry and as the years go by that love grows into something you never could have imagined.

    1. We had a lovely weekend . . . we installed an eight foot windmill and put it out by the garden, we had friends over for dinner Saturday night and then went to a family pot luck on Sunday. It's raining this morning, but the weekend was beautiful. Thank you for your sweet wishes and comments . . . 40 years, they flew by so fast :)

  17. Congrats on 40 years of marriage, you hit a milestone not too many people get to now a days. Love your items you made for the auction. But then everything you make is neat. Have a good week with new creations....bet you are looking forward to getting in your garden and planting a few things. I am going to start some seeds this week....in egg shells, that should be fun.

    1. Have you done egg shells before? I tried them one year at our old house. I didn't have a potting shed or a garage so I did them in the kitchen. They started smelling so bad after a couple weeks, that I had to get them out too soon and the frost got them. So, if you have a shed or someplace other than the kitchen it is probably a good thing. The egg shells will be great for the plant. I'm using peat pots and toilet paper cardboard rings. The toilet paper rings are something I saw on Pinterest.

    1. Thank you Connie, I certainly hope and pray that we have many more years. I can not imagine my days without my Steve, and I worry about how he would cope being alone, but then maybe there is a sweet old gal out there waiting to scoop in and claim him as her own, LOL. Honestly he would need that; I've spoiled him and he would have a hard time alone. We had a wonderful weekend and thank you for the good wishes :)

    1. Thanks Nancy, it was fun to make. Our church sends the high school seniors in our congregation to Chicago each year. They spend a week seeing the sights and walking around town with sack lunches to hand out to the homeless and poor. It give them a chance to see real poverty and minister the word, or even just kindness to people that often get passed by. That is what the auction is for. When they return it is amazing to hear their stories of the trip and to see the difference the trip makes in who they are and how they feel after seeing this first hand.
