What's Up, Buttercup?

Finding the perfect color . . .

It's just not that easy.
This is what I choose Hawaiian Pineapple.

I was looking for a change,
Something bright and cheerful.
Something that would bring in the sunshine
even on a cloudy day :)

Today I painted the island.
Then added one of the signs
that I made last summer.

My plan is to paint all of my
bottom cupboards yellow.

It doesn't look bad if I just leave
the others this turquoise . . .

But when you look close
they look a little sad
and I really want a bright and happy kitchen.

I guess you can tell that I am
not afraid of color.
It's only paint and it's always easy to change.

Keep Smiling!

Your blogging sister,
Connie :)

  1. What a happy color. I wish I had your ambition. I'm also a bit chicken to tackle a project like that. I'll just admire yours instead.

    1. I don't know what made me want to do it now, but the feeling hit me hard this morning, so off to Home Depot I went before I had a chance to change my mind, LOL.

    1. Thank you . . . I've made my share of mistakes picking colors. I've learned to never pick a color in the store, take home samples and check them out in your room with the light that you have. Colors look different under different lighting. Happy Mother's Day to you too :)

    1. Thank you. I first started thinking that I wanted green. I thought it would be fresh and clean looking, but every green that I brought home just didn't look bright and cheery enough for me. I want a happy kitchen, one that whoever enters it, will have to smile :) I also found a great piece for fabric, in my stash, that if I plan it right, I think that I can make curtains for the window and the door. I might need to add a boarder to have enough, but I like that idea anyway :) I wish you the very best in finding your perfect color.

  19. Connie, don't think I ever commented on this post! So am doing it now. Love your bright colors you are choosing! We painted our dark kitchen a lime green when we moved in 2-1/2 years ago. I love it.. and that is the same color we had our house painted, because we love it so much. Now we need to get our cabinets painted white. On my "to do" list for "one of these days". I'm not a painter, don't like it and it always seems overwhelming to me... so it remains undone for now. I bet those colors brighten up your kitchen and by now, you've probably posted a "done" photo! I'll go check! Hugs.. Marilyn

    1. I just finished the kitchen and took photos last night. So, I'll be getting a post out today or tomorrow. I do have a big list of chores to do today. This weekend is our big Memorial Day celebration and then we are expecting out of state company in a few days, so I want to get somethings done so that I'll have more time to visit and relax. I have a hard time relaxing when I feel I have work that needs doing.
