Yard Sale Planters

Hello Sweet Blogging Sisters!
~~~~~~~*****~~~~~~~
I decided to have a morning for yard sale
shopping and look what I found.
This bottomless birdcage was $4.
I just sat it on top of a square planter
and filled with succulents.
This is an old 5 pound
 Calumet Baking Powder can.
It's the kind my Momma used to use.
25 cents!
I was excited to find
this old metal lunch box
for $3.
 ~~~~~~~*****~~~~~~~
We have enough succulent plants
growing around our place
that I just dug some up and gave
them new homes.

This little wooden crate
with chains already attached
was 25 cents :)

I love this old farmer's grain scoop.
When the lady said $1,
I said Sold!

~~~~~~~*****~~~~~~~
The next item was a Walmart bargain . . .
I found it in their half price
garden section for $10.49
I've used all of these planters to
decorate the the front porch
and the steps coming up to it.
~~~~~~~*****~~~~~~~

I could not have had a better
yard sale day,
even if I would have planned it.
Funny how sometimes it
just works out that way.

I am blessed!!!

That's my post for today.
I hope that you enjoyed it
and that you'll let me know
you visited by leaving a comment.

Keep Smiling!

Your blogging sister,
Connie :)

  23. Hi Connie, I did enjoy your post! I have a bottomless bird cage also. I put it over my oregano so it does not get tramped upon or Coco take a taste. I remember those red baking powder cans! I think the ones I am thinking of were smaller. What type of flower did you plant in it? Love the old lunch box. What a lucky day you had! I have been thinking about buying a couple more hanging baskets also. I tell myself maybe it is too late in the season but then I think we could enjoy it probably till early Oct. I would love to find a farmers grain scoop like that. It must have just been your special day to garage sale shop! Have a lovey week-end. Nancy

  24. Thanks for all the inspiration this morning. I'm working on the garden to prep for an Open Studio - Steve and a jewelry artist are combining to do a show on July 28. I like to have color high in the garden so I'm using some of your ideas.

  34. These are all just darling! I love them on your porch steps. I love finding whimsical things for my yard and garden, to put around my potted flowers which is almost all that I have these days. I haven't been antiquing this year yet.. last year I found a tiny pink ice cream chair, a red box/bench.. a little bench with a lid that opens up, and a couple of tin decorations for my fence. The little red bench ended up in our "catio" for our kitties to sit on! They seem to really like it. It's so neat to go to one place and find a bunch of cuties. Hope all is well there! xoxo Marilyn
