Happy New Year!

Just a little note to say,
how much I appreciate my blogging sisters.

Thank you for all your prayers
and for your delightful friendship.

It has been a good year  . . .
and we wish for all of our
friends and family
an even better 2019.

While we were sick, we received
many get well wishes and Christmas cards.
each and everyone was dearly appreciated
and touch our hearts.

This one was handmade by
Nancy of Cozy Thyme Cottage

And this handmade card was from
Carol of Art & Sand.

Didn't they do beautiful work.
I love the embossing and the detail.

There were many beautiful Christmas cards
and we love them all,
but to keep this post short so that
I can get out to the barn today,
I'll only post one more.

I did think that this card was so adorable.
look at those happy pups in their VW Bus.

This was from Kay of 505 Whimsy Girl
Kay hasn't blogged since July of 2017.
Please visit her blog and encourage
her to get back at it.
She has been making some gorgeous
journals and should show them off and
inspire us with her talents.

Well, that's it.
I haven't been out in the Art Barn
forever, but I'm going now.
It's time to warm up my sewing machine, LOL.

Keep Smiling!
Your blogging sister,
Connie :)

  2. Happy new year to you too, my dear friend. Those are some lovely cards you received. I love the handmade cards. They show so much love and caring. Unfortunately, it’s not one of my talents. No one would want to receive a card handmade by me. Ha!
    Many blessings, Betsy

    1. Hi Betsy, thank you for being such a sweet blogging friend. I am sure that if you decided to make cards that they would be lovely. I used to make them all the time, but that was before my blogging days. I'm always thinking that I will start again, but there are so many things to do and so little time :)
Wishing you and your family a bright and wonderful new year :)

    1. Hi Sheri, you are so kind. Butchy wasn't too happy about wearing a hat. It only stayed on for about one full minute if that, LOL. Long enough to click the camera button :)

    1. I see so many things that I want to do . . . and so little time to do them. I guess we just have to make choices, don't we? I've been doing a lot of hand-quilting lately, it's an easy thing to do in the house while caring for my Steve. I'm feeling great, but he is not snapping out of it. Hopefully he'll soon be feeling better. Wishing you and your husband a lovely new year filled with joy and good health.

    1. Thank you . . . words like these help to keep me looking ahead for fun things to try. Winter is my quilting season and for now that is what I'm enjoying. I truly enjoyed seeing your Christmas home tour. Your decorations are amazing . . . they look so icy and cold. You certainly created a winter wonderland :)

    1. I've been doing some hand-quilting in the evenings and that has been a good pastime well taking care of my Steve. I'm feeling my old self again, but he's not doing good at all. Please keep him in your prayers :)

  10. HI Connie! Hope you got out into the Art Barn yesterday and got your hands dirty! (quilting that is!). The cards you received are precious... so glad you are feeling better. Not much going on here.. is cloudy and windy today and though I want to be crafting, I need to work. I do part time work here for an attorney and I like going to the office to work when everyone is gone! So much for quiet and less distracting. Have a wonderful and fruitful Sunday! Hugs........ 1. I did get out there and I got another quilt stated. I'm hand-quilting it in the house in the evenings. I finished my sister-in-laws quilt except for making a label. While working on hers I got it in my head that I wanted a hand-quilted one for myself. They are so much softer than machine quilting. Nice that you have a part time job to go too. That will help with having a little extra money and who couldn't use that, right :)

  12. Love the picture of your puppy dog! That card is so adorable with the bus and puppies. Thank you for showing mine. I will have to check out the other blogs. Glad that you are feeling better and hope you enjoyed your time out in the Art Barn once again! I just ordered my garden seeds for my little courtyard for next year and am working on getting my garden notebooks somewhat organized. Then I hope I can get back to quilting! Happy 2019! Nancy

    1. Hi Nancy, I have been enjoying going through the seed catalogs, too. Then I had a bright idea, one that I should have thought of last year. Every year my mudroom becomes a seed starting place and it's a mess, because it gets bigger and bigger every year and it's our place for coats and it's the laundry room as well.. Last year I even moved some plants into the office room, but this year I have a small bed where I put the table of plants. The other night I thought about the addition to the Art Barn. I have and 8 foot counter out there and I can easily hang grow lights from the ceiling. No more mess in the house. I'm excited about that. I'm also working on quilts, while thinking about spring and gardening :) Happy New Year sweet friend.

My computer doesnt let me see your blog that well. It jumps all over the screen like its floating and when I click to comment, its jumps to top of your page then I have to fight it back to the comment section. Im trying to figure out how to fix it so I can comment more and read your post without it jumping around. Your blog is the only one this happens with. Not sure if im the only one has this problem or not. I love seeing your work and reading your stories.
    Hugs.

    1. Wow! I wonder why that is happening? I have found that some computer problems take care of themselves in time. That's my answer, because I'm the least of the least when it comes to technology. Thanks for letting me know. Wishing you a sweet and wonderful 2019, dear friend.

  18. Dear Connie I do hope the new year is treating you well and glad that 2018 was good for your and yours. I wanted to ask a question and hope you don't mind. I want to have built a studio/shed in my garden and I wondered what size your art barn is and how you made that decision on size? Of course price comes into the equation as well. Thank you so very much. And wishing you all the best in 2019. Christine.
