More about her and her amazing
Many of you know that I painted before
my hand injury . . .
because of that I have many unused canvases
up in the loft of my Art Barn.
The other day when I was stenciling the wall
in the Barn, I decided to pull one down
and paint something for my Spring mantel.
I can still paint, but I do not have the control
that I used to have and so my paintings
and very amateur . . . but I make do :)
Here before I put the stencil away
I used it on the canvas.
And started painting a large
spring bloom.
Here it is ready for the mantel.
Is it too early to decorate for spring?

It's never too early to decorate for spring, Connie. I love your latest creation! I've just started crocheting hearts for Valentine's day! After that, I shall have spring in mind too!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed looking at the creations of your new blogging sister!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Hi Sandra, I think that I have been thinking spring, because I've had my nose in seed catalogs, LOL.
DeleteThank you for visiting Lisa's blog, she is a talented young lady :)
Connie, You made my day! Aren't you just the sweetest!
ReplyDeleteI am thrilled that you shared my blog with your friends-
I appreciate you so much. I am happy to make new friends so come on by to say hello.
By the way your flower painting is beautiful.
So happy to know you, Your friend xo Lisa S
You are very welcome. I know that I have a lot of blogging sisters that will love your delightful blog :)
DeletePopping over there now. Love the canvas Connie, you are such a talented artist.
ReplyDeleteYou're so sweet and thanks for visiting Lisa, I know you'll love her blog :)
DeleteYour flower is perfect to everyone anxious for Spring! I'll go visit Lisa too! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'm delighted you like it . . . I'm in a spring mood . . . and blaming it on all the seed catalogs arriving in the mail, LOL.
DeleteFirstly, I love your painting, Connie, very cheerful and bright.
ReplyDeletethen, how interesting your new contact is, I shall go and look at ther ideas. It's always good to make 'something out of nothing'!
I love projects that are pretty and don't break the bank to do. Lisa has a lot of lovely ideas:) I'm sure that you will like her blog. Thanks for visiting and thanks for your very kind blogging friendship.
DeleteI truly appreciate you and hope that your husband is doing better.
Love your wonderful painted canvas, Connie. Thank you for sharing Lisa's projects too. xx
ReplyDeleteHi Liz, thank you so much . . . I need something to decorate the mantle now that the Christmas decorations are down. All the seed catalogs arriving in the mail have put me into a spring mood :)
DeleteLisa’s blog looks wonderful and I will be sure to check it out, but my friend, your painting is marvelous! It isn’t amateur at all to me. I’m someone who has never been able to paint a stroke and your beautiful canvas looks like a masterpiece to me. And it’s never too early to think of springtime and camping! Unfortunately the weather doesn’t seem to want to agree with me. Many blessings my friend, Betsy
ReplyDeleteHi Betsy, your words are very encouraging and generous, thank you :)
DeleteHi Connie, I love your big Daisy painting although I'm wondering which of the pics shows the true colour.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the mention of the new blog. I'm off to check it out now.
Every time I take photos inside I try to do one with flash and one without. Therefore; the colors come out a bit different. I think the last photo shows the color best. When it's setting on the mantel the color will probably depend more whether I have the overhead light turned on or not:) Light has so much to do with it. I'm so happy that you like it, thank you :)
DeleteThat is such a pretty picture you painted. I would never guess that you had a hand injury that kept you from painting. I did not know about your injury. Was looking back at your archives, didn't see anything about it, but got wrapped up looking at your apron posts, and loved them! All those pretty aprons, and sewing pictures! Then looked at your doll posts. You are talented at so many things! Did look too at the new blog...she sounds very special. I enjoyed her blog and will go back. No, it's not too early. Lets decorate for spring! We've had sunshine today!!!
ReplyDeleteWe have had sunshine today too . . . it's been one of those days that make you think that spring is right around the corner and then you remember it's still January, LOL. I've had my nose buried in seed catalogs and dreaming of warm spring days . . . but planting is still a long way away.
DeleteMy hand injury was before I started my blog. In fact, I think it might have been a major reason that I started blogging. I was so afraid that I would never be able to do all my favorite things, like sewing, painting, playing my guitar . . . so blogging helped me keep my mind off of that. Then I fell in love with blogging, because I've met so many lovely blogging sisters. Bloggers are special people:) I did go through a year of three days a week therapy to get my hand working as well as it does today, and I keep exercising it to keep the movement that I got back from the therapy. My thumb and pointer finger are the only two on my right hand that work as before . . . a very good thing, because they are the most important. The other three are stiff and do not bend at the knuckles. It's okay . . . and I can do almost anything I want . . . the body adapts and we learn new ways to grip things. No crying here:)
I can never compete with your aprons . . . yours are marvelous and sooooooooooooooooo pretty.
Hi, I'm from Brazil and I lived some time in NC and NY, I started my blog in Raleigh in the year of 2009. I'm visiting your space and I loved every story of you. My Blog is https://magazinedade.blogspot.com/ it will be a pleasure to receive you.
ReplyDeleteHello Denise, it's very nice to have you visit. Thank you for your kind words.
DeleteConnie, I like Lisa's ideas. The jar so cute and your big flower is something I would love to do. Come on springtime, right? Blessings to you , xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteHi Susie, it's nice seeing you taking a little time for blogging . . . my thoughts and prayers are with you and your husband.
DeleteThose are all darling...I love your painting Connie.....thanks for the blog link as I love visting new blogs!!! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI think you'll like lisa's blog, she has some delightful ideas :)
DeleteHi Connie. I received a seed catalogue in the mail and I had my nose in it yesterday. It gives me hope that there's something ahead, beyond Winter. We are expecting a snow storm this weekend with about a foot of snow.
ReplyDeleteYour Spring flower is beautiful. I'd love to hear you play the guitar.
I'm going to check Lisa's blog. Thanks for sharing it. I love that Valentine banner. I want to make one and that's a great idea.
Take care of your hand. I hope it's better soon.
You are so sweet. Thank you for everything . . . your kind words, your good wishes, and checking out Lisa's blog. Be careful and stay in, if you can. Sounds like a good time to cozy up in the house :)
DeleteI love your painted canvas. I don't think it's too early to decorate for spring. As a matter of fact decorating for spring might make winter not seem so cold.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to go check out your new blogging sister.
I'm thinking if you decorate now, then when the weather get pretty, you'll be outside enjoying it, while other poor girls are in the house decorating, LOL.
DeleteHi Connie, I wouldn't consider your painting amateur! It is beautiful. Painting is not one of my gifts! Your new blogging friend is also very talented! Maybe your flower painting will hurry spring along. We are suppose to get a storm. Nancy
ReplyDeleteI hope that you don't have any reason to need to be out in the weather . . . storms are for being cozy inside :) I remember the northern Indiana winters, BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! They didn't close the school either. Why, if they would have we would have been going all summer to make the days up, LOL.
DeleteHi Connie- Nice work there on your ART Painting- good to see your Progress on Projects in your Barn. Summer here has been a bit hot 100Deg F yesterday...still working on little projects in my Workshop despite the heat...bit cooler to-day with a nice breeze. Expect you'l be getting into some Snow soon? Regards. KEV. (Australia).
ReplyDeleteDo you live in the northern hotter climate, or elsewhere in the country? I know very little about Australia. Only that living in the southern hemisphere would take some getting use too. Even your stars are different than ours. Have you ever lived in the north hemisphere and experienced the differences?
DeleteStay cool, mate :)
I love your painting! I am in awe of people who can paint or drraw. Such lovliness...Thanks for the link to Lisa's blog! I am now following her, too. =)
ReplyDeleteAmy, you are very kind with your comments. I'm delighted that you like my painting, I think it will look pretty on the mantel. I love that you're following Lisa. She has some great ideas.
DeleteI love your painting! I wish I had a quarter of your talent. :)
ReplyDeleteLisa does some very cute things!
Hi Mari, thanks for stopping by and thank you your kind word. I like that Lisa's ideas are pretty easy, pretty to look at and pretty inexpensive to make. That's a great combo :)
DeleteLove your pretty flower, Connie. Your painting is wonderful. I do believe it is never too early to do a little Spring decorating.....it might induce it to visit you a little earlier. Lisa has a lovely blog with so many clever ideas.
ReplyDeleteIt's so cloudy, damp and cold outside, that spring decorating might make it look a little brighter around here. This time of year is not my favorite . . . I love the sunshine :)
DeleteOh my....love your canvas! That is BEAUTIFUL! So rich in color. I love seeing crafty ideas & the finished works of art.
ReplyDeleteThank you I'm happy that you like it :)
DeleteYour painting is beautiful...one would never know you had an injured hand! I will definitely go and check out Lisa's blog. I love that banner that she made.
ReplyDeleteHi Melanie, I love that you like my painting . . . I know that spring is a couple of months away, but I'm welcoming it with open arms :) Lisa has some very sweet ideas and they are all easy to afford, that's always a plus.
DeletePersonally- I LOVE your painting and think you can put it up anytime. You might have been professionally fantastic before your hand injury but you are really, really good NOW!
ReplyDeleteOff to visit your friend-thanks for the link. xo Diana
Thank you Diana, you're so sweet. I loved that video of your shelf building granddaughter and showed it to Steve. Watch out HGTV she could have her own program :) I know that you'll like Lisa'a blog, she's a very talented blogger, will lots of great ideas.
DeleteI love your springtime painting, and as far as I'm concerned, any time after the middle of January is a good time to be thinking about spring! Thanks for the link to your crafty blogging friend.
ReplyDeleteHi Lorrie, thanks so much for stopping by . . . Part of the fun is dreaming of spring and planning my garden. Once it actually comes, there's a lot of work, but it's fun work and out in the fresh air. It's cold, cloudy and raining outside today . . . I'm ready to decorate. I can at least have the inside looking warm and cheerful :)
DeleteLove your painting! I will start decorating for spring as soon as St.Patricks day is over. Now excuse me while I go check out Lisa’s blog.
ReplyDeleteLisa
Your going to love her blog . . . lots of budget ideas and tutorials. Perfect for teachers, too :)
DeleteOh Wow Connie, you are still painting just lovely, your flower is amazing!! I say if it brings spring early, it is not to early for spring decorating :) I will have to go check out her blog :)
ReplyDeleteActually we are having (so far) a very mild winter . . . but it's cloudy, rainy and sometimes a little snow. It would be nice to see and feel the sunshine. So, if it's not shining outside . . . bring it inside :)
DeleteStopped by Lisa's blog and enjoyed her projects. Thanks for sharing her link.
ReplyDeleteWhen I find a new blogging friend with an inspiring blog, it's always fun to share. Lisa has some great ideas and I like that they are budget minded.
DeleteOh such a pretty wreath.. .what a sweet blogging friend! I took a jump over to her blog and enjoyed seeing all of her craftiness. Your flower painting is so pretty. I think you do a wonderful job painting.... you are very artistic and would love to see painting you had in galleries.. although the ones you do now seem fantastic to me! Is gray and cloudy here.. has been for 2 weeks.. lots of rain and drizzle and a little snow here too. Our weather sounds very similar. Hoping to maybe see some sunshine tomorrow! I'm not too anxious for spring and summer yet.. just getting "over" Christmas and the holidays.. and need a few months to just relax and craft! Hugs to you Connie......Marilyn
ReplyDeleteYes, I need to not get too excited about spring, because it does bring a lot of work with it. This will be Steve's first spring since retiring, so I do hope he's feeling better by then and back to his old self :) Cloudy, rainy and cold here, too :)
DeleteI like your painting! I will check out Lisa's blog. She sounds interesting.
ReplyDeleteHi Connie, what a lo ely gift! So pretty, your painting is fabulous, you underestamate yourself, your def not an amature. Its never to early to bring some spring on in....your mantel is waiting,
