Hand Embroidered Dishtowels

Just some hand embroidered dishtowels
to share today.

These are the transfers
purchased at Walmart.

Busy little birds

I want to thank all of you
that have put us in your prayers.

We really don't want to discuss it
here on my blog,
The Lord knows what's going on . . .
 and that's good enough.

You have touched our lives with your
love and friendship.

God bless you all.

Connie :)

  6. These are all so cute, Connie. I do love the fresh designs on your dish-towels. So prettily embroidered by your gifted hands!
Any kind of handiwork is very therapeutic. I remembering being helped by baking my own bread in times of deep stress. It seemed to re-centre me. Anything that is manual and requires concentration does wonders.
Always thinking of you and your family.

  7. Love the tea towels. I haven't embroidered in years, this might just inspire me to do so. Prayers being said for you, your husband and family. XXXXX

  8. The dish towels are so cute - might have to make some.

I cheat when I do embroidery. I print out what I like, place the print out beneath the fabric and trace it with a pencil.

I'm praying for Steve. Like you, our anniversary is in April, but it will be 48.

  10. Hi Connie, I missed you. I was worried and thought something was happening, many days without a blog post. I placed you in my prayers and asked the Lord God to take care of you, your family and your home. I hope you are better.

  11. I have been praying and will continue to pray for you and Steve, Connie. God knows what your needs are, I don’t need to know in order to pray. Your dish towels are so cute. It’s funny that you put them on your post today. I was just looking at transfers at hobby lobby yesterday because I’ve been thinking of embroidering some new dishtowels. These are really cute.
    Many blessings, Betsy

  12. So pretty Connie. We call dish towels "tea towels" here, they are the same thing of course. I don't have any as pretty as your embroidered ones. Thinking of you both.

  18. Your tea towels are so pretty. My Mom embroidered tea towels and pillow cases in her spare time. Not that she had much of it.
Walmart used to have those adorable transfers but not any more. I guess there is just no demand for them.

    1. You are so right . . . the prayers that are going out from my blogging friends are a blessing and warms our hearts. What a better way to make use of the internet than to use it to connect prayer warriors.
We thank you all and are enormously grateful for every single prayer. There is amazing power in prayer.

  20. So adorable! I did a stamped cross-stitch sampler years ago, but don't really know any embroidery stitches. I would like to find something similar in cross-stitch and maybe give it a go. Thanks for the inspiration. Blessings to both you and Steve.

  26. These are just darling. Our local Bi Mart still has these sorts of cute iron on transfers. I used to do them years ago when I was in my 20's. I loved to embroider then. Then I started doing the iron on cross stitch which I loved.. and made a few designs to hang up. Never did like counted cross stitch and my embroidery was never quite good enough for my liking! Yours is so pretty and perfect. I'm sure it's a nice way to get lost in the moment of creating. I received some embroidered 12 inch quilt blocks from my neighbor's mom.... and they are just begging me to make a quilt from them! Take care.. hugs and prayers..... Marilyn
