Mr. & Mrs. Robin

Lately our adventures of sitting on the
front porch . . .

Have been entertained by watching
a young couple move into the right-hand
top corner of our trellis above the gate.

Here's the proud Daddy . . . Mr. Robin.

Together they have been working hard
taking turns gathering nesting material.

Here's Mrs. Robin.

We are delighted that they choose our little trellis
to build their home.
We are looking forward to watching as their babies
are born and they teach them to fly
and leave the nest.

Enjoying the simple pleasures of life,
One day at a time.

Keep Smiling!

Connie :)

  1. Yes, the best entertainment! I found a nest deep inside the branches of the blueberry bush last week. I just hope the family doesn't come back for a treat when the berries get ripe. ;)

    1. I know I have to hang flashy metallic flags in mine to keep the birds from eating them :) I don't have them up yet. They are on my to do list this week.

  6. I love that you can watch them from your porch. We used to have a family of sparrows that arrived every year and built a nest in the same spot, but they haven't been here for about 5-6 years now. I like to think it was the same couple, returning home year after year. We would watch the babies hatch and then fly. It was wonderful. Wishing you and Steve a wonderful week full of God's blessings and appreciating the little things...like robins. They are the best pleasures of all.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  9. I used to have robins build their nest right near my front door until the year a cat destroyed their nest. It was such a joy to watch them though. Your robin family chose a lovely location to build their nest

    1. I hope to get pictures of the babies but I don't want to get too close and scare the parents away. I'm not sure all robins will react.

  17. Hi Connie- good going there to take the photos of Mr & Mrs Robin- delightful. For some years we had 'Black Birds' nesting about our house and 'Fairy Wrens' use to visit- I was hoping the 'Fairy Wrens' would make home here too. Best Wishes. KEV.

  24. Hi Connie, nice to meet you, thank you so much for stopping over leaving a comment, and following along. It's always a joy to me a new blogging buddy. We had a momma & baby Robin visit every day, it was fun to watch the baby learn and grow to be on it's own. Your home and yard are lovely. I'll be back to read more...

  28. They sure did find a spot that was hidden! I was worried that a big wind might blow their nest away! But looks like they took care of that! We had birds making a little nest by our porch a few years ago, and I really enjoyed seeing them from our dining room window (or the porch). Three babies were there for awhile, and then one day, they were just gone. We are having HOT weather this week! Is already 92 today at 11:00 a.m. I'm not quite ready for it yet, but seems like this always happens here. Hope your weather isn't so hot and windy. Lots of wind here too. Thinking of you each and every day. Hugs... Marilyn

  29. Hi Connie :) Oh the joys of spring and summer - to watch and hear the robins building their nests and having young ones! We had a robin's nest in our lilac tree last spring, so far we haven't seen any yet, but my ears are peeled for that familiar song!!!
