Front Porch Shopping

Don't let the title of this post

fool you . . .

I'm not shopping for a new

Front Porch, LOL,

but shopping to do a little

make over :)

I started with paint for the front door.

Then I bought spray paint

to paint the metal glider

and some metal trellis that our

sweet neighbors gave us

a few years ago.

Next, two new 5X7 outdoor

rugs that I found at Walmart

for $35 each

And two pretty outdoor throw pillows

also from Walmart for $5 each.

Then I went to Big Lots

and found this pretty

hanging basket of forsythia

to hang on the front door.

~~~~~***~~~~~
Now, I need a warm enough
day for painting.
I hope to have it done for
Easter.
~~~~~***~~~~~

I haven't shopped this much in ages . . .

but I think I will be able to do this

on my small budget

&

make it very fresh and pretty.

Do you have any new projects

planned for spring?

I'd love to hear about them.

God bless you all,

Your blogging sister,

Connie :)

  2. We are painting the front porch too. First, the old paint needs sanding off. Any ideas on the best way to do that?

  4. I have several projects for spring, including another fire ring in the courtyard for planting, making a shrine to Mary in the backyard with a mosaic in it, and repainting the kitchen cabinets. I really like the colors you picked for your porch redo!

  5. Your front porch and door are going to look so fresh and pretty, Connie! My house projects consist of making new curtains for the living room and dining room, and a lot of gardening now that I'm not working.

  6. Hello Connie! I think the colors you've chosen are wonderful. The yellow will look great against the blue/green/teal color. (I never know the right names for colors.) I sure think it's a pretty color. So fresh and cool looking. Everything matches so nice. I'm looking forward to the pictures after it's done.
    I have no idea what I'm doing when I get to the new house. I'm leaning toward leaving the vintage bathroom as it is and enjoying the color. What do you think? I have a photo of it on my latest blog post. I know it's not the "in" style, but it's very pretty and clean looking and the more I look at that photo, the more I like it. I want to make the kitchen mine too but those cabinets are sure not what I would have chosen. They're too nice to replace though. I would like to make it look more country cottage somehow. Any suggestions?
    The same for the living room furniture. I need to buy some but don't know what to buy. So many decisions to make.
    Take care my dear friend.
    Blessings and big hugs,
    Betsy

  14. I think that the spray paint that you chose is the same colour that I picked for my recent painting of my garden shed chair. It's such a cheerful colour too. Your newly refurbished porch will be so lovely!!

  15. Oh my word - I love it all! The colors are so cheery! I can't wait to see it finished.
    I think you saw my post on the new flooring we are working on. It's a lot of work, but fun!

  16. Oh Connie I will have to say I do love the colors you have chosen, hope you are able to get warm enough days so you can get it painted soon. Those pillows are gorgeous and so is the pretty flowers in the basket, looking forward to see it all together!
    I have no projects in the words right now, I had foot surgery the beginning of this month and I am to limit how much I am on my feet and so I won't be getting much done for probably another month. All I can focus on right now is getting this foot healed :)

  17. Hi,
    I am so excited to see your finished project. The pillows are so fun.
    We do have a painting project in the works. I hope to have done by Mother's Day. :-) It is our dinning room.

  19. Things are going to be looking real spruced up at your place!

  20. Oh Connie.. I love the colors you chose! That teal blue in your spray paint is what I have used for painting some of my plastic pots in my back yard area, as well as a garden bench by our front door, and a hanging bird cage/planter (which needs painting again). I need to repaint that garden bench as it has sat outside for 2 years since I last painted it! So my projects are sprucing up things I painted a couple of years ago outside, making or buying some more planters for our back "patio" area (gravel) and getting all my pots planted, plus digging up the old raspberries and getting some new ones planted. I would also love to find someone to build the little front porch that we so want.. and then I could have fun decorating it! I can't find anyone around here who wants to do such a small job! I think next weeks weather should be warm and nice for painting your porch! We are supposed to have a 71 degree day on Wednesday I think! I really feel the need to get out and plant some things! Oh.. and also want to build (or buy?) some raised garden beds. Too much to do! Hugs.. Marilyn
