Sun Kissed Sheets & Cucumber Salad

Sun Kissed Sheets

How sweet they are . . .

They take me back to my

childhood, when sheets were

always dried on the line.

Some of you are probably

to young to have ever

experienced the difference.

Believe, there is one :)

I'm starting to get

cucumbers from the garden.

I mixed in a little

green onion, fennel, mint

and beet greens.

Then added salt, pepper

and Ranch dressing . . .

into the frig they go

to be chilled for dinner.

Here are a few flower photos

and that ends my post . . .

Thanks so much for visiting.

Those of you that are praying

for me, thank you so much.

My lungs are feeling better

each and every day :)

God bless you all!

Your blogging sister,

Connie :)

  1. I'm so glad to know that you're feeling better and better. I just harvested the first cucumbers from our garden today. And we're leaving for Spokane tomorrow! I told the neighbors to help themselves while we're gone. :-)
I miss hanging out the sheets but with the humidity, they would never dry here. I always hung them out spring, summer and fall in the Northwest. Love your clothespin holder, (at least that's what I think it is.)
Take care and be blessed my friend.

  2. I'm keeping you in my prayers. I hope you see improvement every day and can take it easy while you heal. Sweet hugs, Diane

  3. Washing dried in the sun shine is a way of life here - and yes, there is a difference.

  4. Aah ! I found you again ! Sorry to hear you,ve been a poorly girl . You're in my prayers too . My cucumbers are a coming too now and tomatoes ..isn't it grateful . You take care now , I'm thinking of you x Debbie x

  5. I am so glad you are continuing to improve, Connie. In the summertime, I often dry my sheets outdoors, too. There's nothing like that fresh sunshine fragrance. Your cucumber salad looks delicious. Take care, my friend.

  6. Connie, I miss having a clothesline to dry sheets especially. My daughter, Angie also misses her drying things on a line. it sure saves energy . Loved the pictures from your place. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  7. My sheets always get dried outside. They have never been in a dryer - don't have one. :)
I love cucumber salad and we just had some not long ago.
Glad you're feeling better each day. It really takes a while to get your energy back!!

  8. Glad to hear you are feeling better.
Yes - there is nothing like sheets dried outside!

  9. I love sheets dried on the line, but I don't have a clothesline here at this house. I miss that. I may have to do something about it. I love your dainty rosebud sweet and vintage and pretty. Your cucumber salad sounds wonderful. And I do pray you will continue to feel better with each passing day. God bless you. Take care.

  10. I am so dense. I didn't realize until I read Betsy's comment that the denim shorts hold your clothespins!! I thought maybe they were part of your laundry drying on the line. (I'm smiling as I write this).
Clothes dried out in the sunshine have a scent that dryer sheets could never match.

  11. I remember when I was a kid, I loved getting into bed when there were fresh sheets, dried on the line.
    Those cucumbers look delicious.
Glad to hear you are feeling better every day.

  12. So happy you're feeling better.

  13. Oh Connie I remember when my mom always hung all the laundry to dry out on the circular, rotating clothesline! I loved that fresh smell! I had a clothesline at one place I lived years ago, and I really enjoyed hanging out most things.. it was so relaxing and peaceful and I always actually looked forward to it! As always, your flowers are gorgeous, and that cuke salad looks yummy. I only have lemon cukes planted and they are just now starting to form little baby ones.. they are so sweet and not bitter at all like some cucumbers. I can hardly wait! And I also continue praying for your full recover... I don't feel my lungs are the same even yet, 10 months later.. I seem to get out of breath easier than I ever did before. I still do breathing exercises with that blower thing they gave me at the hospital. Will be hot hot hot here all next week.. it has been this week too, but next week even worse. I'm sure it will be there too.. so be careful and stay cool. Hugs.. Marilyn P.S. Girl.. you are ON A ROLL with your blog posts! Wish I was!

  14. Connie, Im happy to hear that you are feeling better now. I love the feel of sheets line dried expecially on a sunny day, they feel so different. Your sheets are so pretty!

  15. There is nothing prettier than the sight of sheets or tablecloths on a clothesline, blowing in the wind. My grandma used to hang everything out on the line and now my mom does, too. She did when I was growing up and she still does. I don't have a clothesline because I have terrible allergies and anything I'd hang outside would trap the pollen and I'd really be suffering. Sometimes I put my cotton shirts over the back of an outside chair or the porch railing anyway. ;-)

Your cucumber salad looks delicious. I love cucumbers straight from the garden. Your flowers are so pretty, too. Love your photo of the rose climbing the bed frame trellis. Hope you are feeling better and getting stronger every day.

  16. I love 'sun kissed' laundry. I've done it for 53 years now. ;-) ~ So glad to read you are feeling better, may you continue to grow stronger with each new day. ~ Love, hugs and prayers ~ FlowerLady

  17. Your sheets look so pretty blowing in the breeze. Your pictures are always so pretty! I always loved hanging clothes on the line but now with Eli and Ellie...Well, the hair! A dryer does help remove any dog hair. You should see my vacuum bag every day! I'm getting cucumbers too. Oh, glad you feeling better. Take good care.

  18. Hi Connie, A delightful post indeed. I may be headed to the grocery to see if I can get together a cucumber salad like yours. It looks delicious! Thank you for the flower photos … beautiful. I’m sorry to hear that you are still dealing with COVID after effects. Do you think it’s what they call “long COVID”? I will put you on my prayer list. I am tired of wearing a mask but I think it is what has kept me well. I notice recently I’m one of the few in the grocery wearing one. Thank you for your kind words on my blog. Take care Connie and I send you best wishes on your recovery. John

  19. Yes, sheets dried on clothes lines always feel and smell better than those dried in a dryer. Plus, it's just so sweet to see them hanging on the line. Glad you're feeling better. Your flowers, as always, are lovely. Hugs.
