Last Winter I started this quilt.
A birthday present
for
my granddaughter Lucy.
Here are the finished
photos.
The lighting wasn't very
good and the colors
in the fabric don't
show up as actuate
as they truly are π
This is the Back
I made it reversible.
and is starting college
tomorrow π
I'm so proud of her.
That is just so lovely Connie, and the back is particulaely beautiful with your choice of pretty fabrics. Sorry you havent been well, take care.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I am drinking elderberry tea and taking a lot of vitamin C as well as using Vick's Vapor Rub, that was my Mom's cure from way back when I was a little girl :)
DeleteOh dear Connie, I'm so sad you have been so unwell, hopefully the worst us over now. That's such a pretty quilt you have made for your granddaughter's birthday.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I've had it finished around a month ago but didn't want to put it on the blog until after she received it :)
DeleteThose are my go to remedies, too. They seem to be working. The quilt is a lovely design. She'll be delighted to take it with her.
ReplyDeleteShe called me after it arrived and was thrilled. It's my way of hugging her from miles away :)
DeleteBeautiful quilt, it looks so soft and inviting to curl up in. I love the way you did the wispy appliques. Hope you feel much better soon!
ReplyDeleteActually today was a turning point . . . I've only used 3 or 4 tissues so far instead of my 1/4 to 1/2 a box π€§π€
DeleteConnie - it's beautiful! Lucy will treasure it.
ReplyDeleteWe are just getting over colds here too, not awful ones but I'm glad to see the end of them. Glad you are improving too!
Maybe getting them now we'll be free from getting them all winter. Let's hope that's the case π here's the good health right around the corner!
DeleteThe quilt is beautiful - a work of art. Glad you are on the mend. Get well soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you for both of your sweet comments. I do feel better today, it's been hanging on for over a week now. So it should be coming to a close. π€’
DeleteI'm sorry you've been sick. Hopefully you will soon feel much better. Vick's Vapor Rub is also in my medicine cabinet along with various pills and potions in case either one of us gets sick. The quilt that you made for your granddaughter is lovely. I like that you made it reversible.
ReplyDeleteVick's Vapor Rub has been around for a long time and is so comforting when you have a bad time breathing... Sometimes the old medicines are the best!
DeleteThe quilt for your granddaughter is just beautiful and so special. I do hope you are feeling better, Connie. Thank you for your kind comments on my blog. I so appreciate you for taking the time to visit in the midst of not feeling well. Praise God for Charlie Kirk!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your post and tribute to the memory of Charlie. I was watching him a week or two before his assassination and hoping that he would visit the college that my two granddaughters are attending. That they would have a chance to hear him and hopefully be encouraged and strengthen by his faith and his encouragement to get young people to think for themselves and search out what is truth and what is not.
DeleteWhat a gorgeous quilt this is. A special gift that your granddaughter will surely cherish. That is a real work of love
ReplyDeleteAnn, you are so sweet thank you.
DeleteWhat a lovely quilt for Lucy. She will treasure it. I'm sorry you've been sick, but glad you're getting better. It takes awhile sometimes.
ReplyDeleteOh it seems like it takes longer to get over a cold especially when it gets down in my chest. They say growing olds is not for sissies. Boy were they right whoever they are.
DeleteWow what a gorgeous quilt! Your granddaughter will absolutely love this so much. Sorry you have been sick! Hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteThank you, today was a much better day I think I'm over the worst of it π
DeleteWhat a beautiful quilt! Your granddaughter will love and cherish it forever. So sorry to hear you've been sick. I hope you're getting lots of rest, drinking plenty of water and herbal tea, and taking vitamins. {{hugs}}
ReplyDeleteMelanie, you hit the mark in describing my menu. It's been lots of vitamins and herbal tea, plus oatmeal and comforting foods π₯΄. So many people lose weight when they don't feel good I seem to comfort myself with food when I don't feel good and end up gaining a little..
DeleteThis is lovely! I admire your sewing ability. Feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Michelle π₯°
DeleteOh that is so pretty! I just love that quilt and your grand girl so lucky to have it. Late summer head/chest colds awful; it is just too warm to be sick with a cold this time of year, lol. Get better soon. Dawn P. Albany, GA
ReplyDeleteI know cold winter weather is the best time, If We Have To Be Sick, to be that way. π€’ Thanks for stopping by :)
DeleteWell done, Connie, another great quilt from you and under the weather as well. Your granddaughter will treasure it forever♥I love the way your stitching looks like writing!
ReplyDeleteYou're so sweet. I enjoy freehand stitching on my sewing machine, it's so freeing.
DeleteOh my it is just beautiful, such a pretty bouquet, I bet she was very touched by it and will be nice to have something you made her to take with her to college. So sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well, my hubby just got over a terrible cold or something too, I was spared thank goodness.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to hear that you escaped getting sick. If he had what I had and it settled in the chest, it's a doozy. I'm feeling much better, but it's still lingering on a bit.
DeleteLucy's quilt is so beautiful filled with pretty colour and pattern, and whimsical joy.
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you π₯°
