Sewing and Spring Process

John Wayne to the recue . . .
choosing fabric for a
baby boy quilt.

I'm using the small squares
for the middle and this
for the boarder.

 My brother-in-law
picked two hog panels
up for me at the farm store
and helped me set them up
between the poles that
I stalled.
I could never have stool
them up on my own.

I'm planning on planting
green beans on this one.

 Then planting cucumbers
on this one.

🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱

Besides getting this done,
I've been trimming,
mowing and cleaning up
from last year's mess . . .
slowly making progress
for this years planting.

🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱

It's a lot of work,
but it's also
very enjoyable . . .
I love getting my hands
dirty in the warm
spring soil.

🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱

Until the next post
I'll just say . . .
God Bless You All
and have a lovely week.

Your blogging sister,
Connie :)

  4. I never heard of hog panels but whatever they are they sure are just right for growing things on. They make a lovely arch too. You could have another one for climbing roses 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

    1. They would be lovely covered with roses. Maybe someday when I get tired of having a veggie garden or it's too much work. Then I can plant flowers in the beds and roses over the arches :)

  9. That will be such a sweet quilt for a little boy. Adorable. It must be better weather than Spokane. Didn't they get snow last week? You're getting so much yard work done. We're still having a relaxing few weeks in Texas. We've enjoyed beach walking and just reading and watching some movies too.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

    1. We had such a warm day today and I noticed my apricot trees are blooming. I think we're a good month ahead of where we normally are this time of year as far as Spring weather. Of course that doesn't mean that we won't get a freeze and everything freeze. I hope not for the sake of all the orchards around here. I'm glad you're enjoying your time in Texas. Walking on the beach sounds fun.

  10. What cute fabric. I bought a new sewing machine the first of December and have not even had time to thread it yet...sigh...
I can't wait to be able to get outside and start cleaning up the garden areas and doing some transplanting.
Happy First Day of Spring- xo Diana

    1. Our last two days have been so warm and it has just been wonderful to be outside. I worry about my apricot trees they're already blooming. Well, not so much worrying about mine cuz the squirrels will get them anyway, but worrying about all the orchards around your area and around here and if they bloom early and then we get a frost that would not be good for the farmers.

  12. Your garden area is going to look lovely as you enter with the hanging green beans! I love using hog panels for a trellis to make a walkway in the garden. I like to plant scarlet runner beans, they flower beautifully and make a lovely large green bean too! The nice weather is definitely helping with all the spring chores there are to do! Your baby quilt will be so adorable! Blessings to you :)

    1. I bought a pack of Scarlet runners to plant as a flowering Vine. Maybe you can give me some tips on what kind of soil or fertilize they like and what's a good place to plant them I'm assuming full sun.

    1. Thank you, now I'm just waiting for warm planting weather. I did plants green peas, lettuce and green onion they all like the cool weather. Planted the peas about 12 days ago but they still haven't sprouted but they should be doing that any day now. I love watching things grow after they sprout. 🌱

  14. Hi Connie... I read this post but forgot to answer it! What a great idea using those hog panels! That will be so neat when it's all green with veggies! I had trellis's in my yard when I lived in Washougal over 10 years ago. I planted climbing things too, beans on one, and roses on the other. Both did well and I Loved them! You have been working WAY TOO HARD! Slow down girl! Well at little anyway! It'll all look so pretty again this year I'm sure. Maybe I can (hope???) can to see the results of all your labors! Hugs..
