A Walk Around The Garden

Welcome do my humble blog.
I thought you might
enjoy a walk around the garden
with me.
πŸ’—
Before we begin, I would like to
thank all of you for the sweet
comments on my repurposed
chandelier, from my last post.

I'm doing this post
over my phone so
I hope it turns out alright.

The day starts out
with sheets on the line.

Followed by checking the garden for weeds
and anything that needs watering.
It's still very early in the season
and I'm still waiting
for some things to sprout.

I can hardly do a post
 without showing off my clematis,
it's beautiful this year.

My bridal veil is just starting to bloom.
I think it's called spirea,
but I've always known it as bridal veil.

The chives are blooming.
After I took this photo
I clipped all the blooms off
so it wouldn't go to seed.

And of course the peonies
always steal the show.
It's too bad they don't Bloom longer.

Chamomile is blooming.
If you were here I'd bake a cake
and make a pot of tea πŸ₯°

A garden tour would not be complete
without a photo of my helper
and my doorbell sign.
I love them both ♥️

Thanks so much for stopping by

and please leave a comment

I enjoy reading them so much.

  1. I like your yard with all the pretty flowers, especially that gorgeous pink Peony. And the lovely Clematis. There's so much to enjoy at this time of the year. I looked at your picture and I imagined we were touring your yard together. 🌸🌺🌼🌼🌹🌹

    1. How sweet! Wouldn't it be fun to tour it together. In fact I had a girlfriend from out of town that came through and spent the night with me last night and we did just that, walked around the garden😊

  2. You sure do keep yourself busy. Your garden looks amazing. I noticed my peonies do have some buds on them but they aren't close to blooming yet.

    1. I got busy and missed the first part of their blooming, which is really unusual because I'm out there everyday. Too bad the blooms don't last longer, because they're so pretty.

  3. Walking around the yard and garden is one of my favorite things to do and I greatly enjoyed yours! It's ahead of ours, our peonies are still tight little buds. But they are coming! You are right about the Bridal Veil, it's a variety of Spirea.
    Your clematis is a showstopper!

    1. They do bring me a lot of pleasure. I rarely put a photo on there of myself but it just seemed like the thing to do this time 😊

  6. Oh, I LOVED the tour of your garden/yard. So wonderful to have clean sheets drying on the clothesline! I miss that. We don't have a clothesline here, but I sometimes wish we did. I loved seeing all your flowers...esp. the peonies! We can't grow them here, so anytime I can see them (and wish I could smell them!) I drink in their beauty. I love your porch sign and your sweet helper! I'm finding out that pets do love to help in the garden. My kitty follows me around in the yard and, unless I am watering and spraying the hose, he loves to stay close by. He usually stays at a respectful distance when I am watering since he is a typical cat and doesn't like to get wet! LOL. Thank you for the lovely tour. I'd love to have a tour of your kitchen too someday! It looks so pretty behind you, and you look so pretty too!!! Have a blessed week!!!! And thank you for your comment on my most recent post about being alone. (((HUGS)))

    1. When I'm watering Beulah (being the dog that she is) loves the water hose. I can't water anything by hand without her wanting a drink, so I have to stop every 5 or 10 minutes and give her a drink and then when the sprinklers are on she's out there playing under the sprinkler she just loves it.
Thank you for your sweet comment on this post.

  8. Oh dear Connie, I love this post so much. Your garden is just beautiful, especially the clematis, but you are the MOSTEST beautiful thing in this post. Your garden looks wonderful and I would love to sit on that bench and have a cup of tea with you. I laughed at the doorbell sign and your sweet helper looks ready for anything. What are we doing today Mama?
    Blessings and love,
    Betsy

  10. Thanks for taking us along on your walk around the garden. Everything is blooming beautifully. I love those peonies, and I've never seen chamomile blooming before. But I do have a cup of chamomile from time to time. Your little helper in the garden is cute. It was good to see a picture of you too. It's nice to see our blog friends' faces once in a while. : ) I hope your May days are sweet ones.

    1. Chamomile is really fun to grow, but you have to go out and pick those little blossoms off and then dry them very gently. Better to dry them in open air than a dehydrator. They do make lovely cup of tea ♥️ oh and if you ever tried growing them they easily reseed themselves and come back the next year.

    1. I absolutely love making lists and then checking things off. There's something about having a list that makes you realize how much you actually accomplish each day. 😁

  15. Thank you for this lovely mini-tour of your garden, Connie. That clematis is certainly a showpiece. I love the colour of the flowers. Peonies are beginning to bloom here and I keep watching my clematis, but no flowers yet. Enjoy the weekend.

    1. Thank you. Our town is having their Spring Festival this weekend so I'm meeting up with a friend tomorrow and we are going to walk the farmer's market together and get a little taste of all that's going on.

  16. Beautiful picture of you, love that smile. Your garden is coming along beautifully, I love the bench in the middle. I am getting pretty excited our green been seeds are coming up nicely and the tomato and pepper plant has some flowers on them.

    1. Wow, sounds like yours are way ahead of mine, at lease your tomatoes are. I love fresh garden tomatoes, but I've been having a problem with acid reflux so I've planted several yellow tomatoes, they are suppose to have less acid.

  17. Great picture of you Connie, welcoming us in to your world! This post came out fine using your phone! So much I love in your yard and garden, the reddish chips make it look so spiffy and dressed up, the flowing clothes on the line, the teal bench and little table, the Bridal Veil (how pretty!), of course that stunning clemantis and the peonies. I've never had much luck with peonies. The chives ad so much color as do the camomile plants. Oh, and the cute garden sign and Beulah! So nice to have a companion with us! She looks as proud as you do! How fun you got to go to the market and wander. Sounds like a nice spring outing. Hugs to you and Blessings in everything you do! Marilyn

    1. Thank you Marilyn, you're so kind. Actually we didn't go to the market, my friend wasn't feeling well and I really don't like crowds. Our market is open every Saturday so it will be less crowded any other week besides festival week. So we'll do it again another time. Life is good. I'm spending a lazy Sunday afternoon around the house doing absolutely nothing. 😊

  19. Connie, I enjoyed your garden tour especially as we no longer have one, and also thank you for doing all the watering and weeding so we can enjoy the views work-free πŸ™‚. Clothes hanging outside to dry reminds me of my childhood days before my mother had a dryer. You have a very sweet helper too and that sign was funny.

    1. I'm looking forward to seeing it. I think you may be a week or so behind us. I've been watching a lot of garden videos on YouTube. There's a group of videos put out by " Evergreen Seniors" and they talk a lot about natural feeding and bug deterrence for the garden. A lot of things that we can make at home that are cheap or even free from things we normally throw away. Things the Amish do. You might really like the programs, because it goes right along with your no spend life style.
