Racing with the clock.
Steve and I have been helping our friends
build a corn hole game.
Have you heard of it?
It is fundamentally an outdoor
bean bag toss.
Here it is in the painting stage.
They purchased some trademark
Dallas Cowboy star decals to go on it, too.
After the paint and sealer dry.
After the paint and sealer dry.
And of course you need bean bags.
Steve and I have always wanted to make one of these,
so now that we have a big yard
we finally got one made.
It looks so pretty at night.
Hopefully we will get the game done
and out of my barn by tomorrow.
I've got some sewing that is needing
to get done, too.
Busy, busy, busy . . .
Are you doing any last minute things?
Keep Smiling.
Your blogging sister,
Connie :)
I have heard of the game, and how awesome it looks too. Love your Christmas scene, so beautiful. Wishing you a Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteHi Becky, thanks for stopping by . . . I wish that there was a way to have Christmas cookies and tea waiting for all of my lovely visitors.
DeleteMerry Christmas :)
What great projects, you are so creative.
DeleteMerry Christmas
Caroline
Hi Caroline, thanks for visiting, I know it is a busy time for everyone, but it's nice to fix a hot drink (mine is coffee today) and sit and relax with your blogging sisters. I love reading comments and visiting blogs :) Merry Christmas :)
Deletethe cornhole game is pretty popular around here. Looks like a nice one your working on there. Love your nativity too. very pretty. I didn't get much of anything made this year. I just don't have the ambition
ReplyDeleteHi Ann, well, I twisted my back this morning, so I hope that doesn't put a damper on my projects. I did get a few hexies cut out today, so I can sit around and do some lap work. When we are finished with our friends cornhole game I think Steve has it planned to build one for us. Don't know how much we'll play it, but it will be fun for summer family barbecues.
Deleteliebe connie, tolle bilder, ich habe noch nie von diesem spiel gehört!!! frohe weihnachten wünscht angie aus deutschland
ReplyDeleteHi Angie, We had never heard of it either, until our friends asked us to help them build one :)
DeleteMerry Christmas and thanks for stopping by my blog and visiting :)
We had a neighborhood block party and they had this game. Glad you had an opportunity to make one.
ReplyDeleteDid you enjoy playing it?
DeleteHi Connie! Love the outdoor manger scene. So lovely. Hope you and all your family have a lovely and Merry Christmas! Susan
ReplyDeleteThank you Susan, we have always admired the white yard nativities, but never had a big enough yard before :)
DeleteWishing you a lovely Christmas, too :)
We had one of those games but it was one we bought. Something happened to it. Got borrowed and never returned or something! It was fun to play! Good luck on getting everything done! Nancy
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy, it does look like fun, we thought that it would be a good game for all ages :)
DeleteI don't know the game. Maybe SEAHAWKS don't play it. Cowboys????? :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, a piece of plywood makes two sets for the game, and actually the second set is going to be Seahawks; the decals are already purchased. This set is a Christmas present for our friend's boss and he's from Texas. Did you watch the game last Sunday . . . we have a great chance at going to the Super Bowl again this year. Happy, happy, happy!!!
DeleteHave fun getting all your makes and preparations done, and wishing you a very merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteHugs xx
Thank you so much and the I wish you the Merriest of Christmas' too :)
DeleteMy father in law made some corn hole boards for us and my MIL made the bean bags. The bags were chewed up by some rodent so I made some new ones but I like the idea of the appliqués on them. If I ever need to make new ones I am going to use that idea!
ReplyDeleteYour nativity scene is beautiful!
We are not exchanging gifts this year so I am doing lots and lots of baking to share with everyone. Hubby and I will be heading to Florida tomorrow to spend Christmas with family and visit some friends then we are going to take a load of our stuff that is being stored up to Kentucky to the new farm. It's going to be busy with lots of visiting, packing and traveling but we are excited!
I hope y'all have a wonderful and Merry Christmas!
Your trip sounds wonderful . . . it is great to be with family at Christmas.
DeleteIt will be nice for you to bring more of your things to your new home, too :)
Drive safe and be happy :)
Oh what fun it is to craft.... Hey that is a popular game here in SW Pa. I've played a few times and my sons are very good at it. How nice to craft with the neighbors. Your nativity is delightful too! You have been busy. Have a Blessed Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year too!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cathy-Lynn
Good Morning Cathy-Lynn, I've not played this game, but after Steve builds us a set I'm sure I'll get hooked. Now that we have a big enough lawn for yard games it is nice having a few to drag out in the summertime when we have company :)
DeleteHi Connie,
ReplyDeleteWishing you a very Happy Christmas!
Ingrid
Thank you so much :)
DeleteI have seen so many fun designs on Cornhole Games. We might need to make one just for fun on the beach.
ReplyDeleteNo last minute projects here. I bought new glasses on Sunday and broke one yesterday. I was going to drive all the way back to Home Goods (40 miles) to buy another one, but that would means skipping my walk and so we will use different glasses.
Enjoy your day!
Carol, I am so proud of you . . . choosing to walk instead of rushing out to buy more glasses. I love that you and Steve are walking together. I know that walking on the beach is probably one of the number one best places to walk and relax and I'm sure that it is a great time to talk to one another without the distractions of a busy life :) It doesn't matter what glasses you put out . . . you have never set a table that wasn't a show stopper :)
DeleteMerry Christmas.
Connie :)
Evening Connie, Your nativity cut-out is beautiful....I'm sure even more at night lit up!! I guess BUSY is our new middle names....praying that your Christmas is perfect this year. May God Bless You and Steve in 2015 with happiness, health and love like never before! This Christmas means more than ever...our Savior born on this day....Our nation needs him so much! Connie, we are BLESSED to know the true meaning of CHRISTmas......prayers for you and your family~~~Roxie
ReplyDeleteRoxie, you are such a sweet friend. I have enjoyed watching you and your husband going through the same things as us this past year . . . we were both in the thick of turning our fixer-upper cottages into our dream homes :) There will still be a lot to do next year, but hopefully we will all have a little more time for fun and relaxation :) Merry Christmas.
DeleteWhat fun! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you too :)
DeleteHow clever.
ReplyDeleteMy Hubby and I have been talking about making a manger scene like that for years and a neighbor behind us put one up this year, it looks great. Hopefully we will get around to it one of these days!
ReplyDeleteHi Connie, that was us, too. We have talked about it forever . . . then we moved last spring and purchased this little 1905 bungalow on an acre so there was no excuse about where we would put it, now we have plenty of lawn :)
