Vintage Hand Embroidered Pillowcases

My daughter knows how much I enjoy
vintage embroidered pillowcases . . .
So she brought me these at Thanksgiving.

She bought them at an estate sale.

Perfect and I love them :)

I just thought that I would share . . .

Here’s wishing you a lovely weekend.
Your blogging sister,
Connie :)

    1. Hi Janice, I love how ladies used to embroidery and crochet on pillowcases and handkerchiefs . . . maybe because it reminds me of my mother and grandmother, that was something that they enjoyed doing:)

    1. Good Evening Susan, thanks so much for stopping by. I wish there were someway that I could have tea and cookies set out for my lovely visitors.
Women used to do more hand-stitched decorating around their homes and I just feel like these pieces of old vintage linens are pure gold. A treasure in deed:)
It's nice to know that you enjoy them, too.

  4. Connie, Those are beautiful . I love to see the wonderful needle work of the ladies that came before us. The sewing was their entertainment. Or their handmade gifts to their loved ones. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

    1. Hi Susie, it is a pleasure to have you stop by. I totally agree with everything you said here. There are some ladies out there today that are still doing this kind of delicate work, but it is truly becoming a long lost art. I love embroidery, but I cheat and do it on my sewing machine:)

    1. Hi Roxie, She knows what her mamma likes:) I love these and I am going to use them. I've decided that it's more fun to have lovely things and use them, than to have them tucked away in drawers with tissue paper. Maybe I'll even have a vintage dream of country gardens filled with fluttering butterflies :)

  6. Oh, I love them, too and pick them up every chance I get! My mom taught me how to do them and then crochet the edges. I love the older ones that are about shot and make curtains out of them. Have a super weekend!

  7. What a sweet daughter you have!!! I love vintage pillow cases too. Last year I got some that my grandmother had made...I cherish them and even pinned a note in them so that my son won't sell them for a quarter at the big (estate) sale lol!

  14. What a sweet daughter : ) They look just perfect with your bedding. They remind me of my Grandma who made embroidered pillowcases and taught me how to do the same. I miss her so even years later but am grateful for the sweet memories. Thank you for reminding me of one today!

    1. Hi Jeanie, thank you so much. I am a quilter, but I have to confess that this is a store bought quilt. I've had it for maybe 10 years and the more I wash it the prettier and softer it gets. I really love it, too :)

    1. Hi Lynn, for being old pillowcases they are in nice condition (hardly mint) but I love them just the same.
They are exactly what I want to decorate my little old bungalow with. The more vintage style that I can bring
into our home the better and more cozy it feels :)

They are beautiful and in such great shape! I love the crochet edging; one reason I really need to learn how to crochet!

Blogger is playing jokes on me. My Blog List is gone (again). Luckily I remember your blog name by heart!
