I was shopping at the Goodwill
when I came across this adorable
little dark red satin lampshade.
I just knew that I had to make something
out of it.
So, I purchased a few ornaments
at the Dollar Store and at Walmart.
And the fun began . . .
I had this fuzzy white yarn in my stash.
I used my handy dandy hot glue gun
and started gluing and tying on ornaments.
I'll hang it in the house
when I start my Christmas decorating,
but for now it is hanging in my Art Barn.
I'm beginning to get in the Christmas spirit:)
How about you?
Have a Happy Day.
Your blogging sister,
Connie :)
I love your lampshade - red satin - do you think it came from a bordello? Just kidding.
ReplyDeleteI love when you say Art Barn. I just told Steve what I want for Christmas - a house. A little garden house to hold all my decorating pieces that aren't in use. I hope I get it.
Hi Carol, I hope that you get it, too. After all you have been a very good girl this year, right?
DeleteThis is adorable! I love red lampshades...I have several on different lamps in the house. I see they also make adorable Christmas decor!
ReplyDeleteHi Debby, thank you . . . it was fun to make. Now, I need to find a place in the house to hang it:)
DeleteThat's a very whimsical lampshade mobile. Love the colour.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lorrie :)
DeleteWhat a fun project. I love it. I haven't quite found my Christmas spirit yet. I'm sure it's in a box around here somewhere....lol
ReplyDeleteI'm sure when you start opening up your Christmas decorations . . . you will find it . . . maybe under the mistletoe :)
DeleteThis is so pretty, what a lovely decoration, love it!

Thank you, that was very sweet to hear :)
Deletewow, what a fun project. Thanks for the blog visit and your sweet comments. I hope you show more pics of your bungalow sometime. I love seeing others.
ReplyDeleteHello Lynn, thanks for stopping by and do come again. Our little bungalow has been in constant repair. If you go back to my spring posts all through fall you will see many changes. We still have things to do, but now have it at a very comfortable stage and loving it :)
DeleteHi Connie,
ReplyDeletevery inventive christmas decoration.
I will be starting at the end of the week.
I don't understand the stores, when they start putting up christmas trees and gifts in the shops in October.
happy week
val xx
Hello Val, I totally agree with you. It is way to soon. They started around here before Halloween and they have a way of bypassing Thanksgiving and pulling up more Christmas. Then by the middle of January when all the after Christmas sales are over . . . we'll be able to shop for a summer swimsuit. In July when it's hot outside, the swimwear is gone and it's time to shop for back to school. What is the rush?
DeleteGreat idea. Crafting is a superpower, if you ask me!
ReplyDeleteHi Sandi I am happy that you like this little project :)
DeleteYou are so creative.
ReplyDeleteI just know your home will decorated in the cutest way for Christmas :)
K.
Hi Kerin, It will be fun decorating it, but I don't go over board. Just a tree and the mantel . . . well maybe something in the kitchen window and a wreath on the door. My Steve is working on building one of those white wooden Nativities to stand up in the yard. He wanted it done by now and up right after Thanksgiving, but running a little bit behind :)
DeleteOH I wish I had an art barn! I am amazed at your creativity! I would have never thought to make a mobile out of a lampshade. It turned out so pretty! I look forward to seeing all of your Christmas decor. Have fun decorating!
ReplyDeleteHi Sherry, well I have certainly been having fun seeing all of the lovely ornaments that you have been making. You have been a huge part of motivating me into the Christmas decorating mood that I'm in :) Thank you.
DeleteYou come up with some wonderful ideas Connie. I'd never have thought of it. You have such imagination and I love seeing all your crafty makes. P x

ReplyDeleteHelen
A girl just has to keep busy . . . this was fun :)
DeleteSo pretty and like Sherry above I cannot wait yo see all your Christmas decorations. This year is going to be a very quiet one for us, so I probably won't even bother with decorations :( xxx
ReplyDeleteI think that it is going to be quiet for us too . . . but Steve loves Christmas decorations. As long as the house is decorated and there are cookies in the oven, he's a happy camper :)
DeleteUgh! Just passed up the perfect lamp shade at Goodwill.....adorable !
