Quilt On The Table

I was looking at my stash

of quilts this morning

and thinking about how pretty they look

when used on a table.

So, I preceded to look

for one that was square.

Then pulled out this crazy quilt

that I made back in 2016.

Topped it off with

a bouquet of zinnias from

the garden.

Here's a view

walking around the table.

It's made from scraps

and little bits of this & that

of things pieces & embroidered

but never used, until putting this

quilt together :)

Oh, here's a photo of my very

first tomato of the year.

A large cherry :)

Oh, was it ever good!

Thank you for visiting

May God shine His light on you,

and may you feel His amazing love.

Until next post,

Your blogging sister,

Connie :)

P.S. There are many of you that I cannot

seem to leave a comment when I visit your

blogs. I do visit and feel bad when this

happens.  Please forgive me, and know

that I'm trying . . . Blogger just

isn't cooperating.

Hopefully this will soon be fixed.

  1. Hi Connie your quilt is great on the table and certainly adds a lovely pop of colour. I have made several table cloth quilts, with Nes Zealand inspired fabrics and written notes about our various travels. Two from long trips caravanning around the South Island of New Zealand. Another special one was about our trip to England I took HSTs, patterned and white, my marking pen and got people to write on then from all sorts of interesting places. Buckingham Palace, and some fabulous Cathedrals spring to mind.

    1. Thank you Linda, He is my strength. There are days when I don't even feel like getting out of bed, and then I remember that I am here for a purpose. Paul said in 2nd Corinthians that we are to be ambassadors of the gospel of Jesus Christ, hard to do that staying in bed, unless we are ill and can't get up :) Sometimes that is the push I need to keep moving. I'm delighted that you like this quilt. I do enjoy making quilts from scraps :)

  3. I love this happy quilt! I like that it is a combination of so many different things...I guess that's why you call it a "crazy quilt". I don't do any quilting, but if I did, it would probably be that style. My only concern in putting it on a table is that it might get something spilled on it and stain it. Maybe you don't leave it on there when you eat at the table? Just wondering...I am so sloppy that I couldn't trust myself not to dribble tea on it or something else. It looks so very pretty. Thank you for sharing it with us. I hope you are having a nice summer. Regarding your commenting, I have comment moderation on my blog, so your comment won't show up until I approve it. I had too many strange spammers commenting so had to do that. I hope you are still able to comment on mine? Have a wonderful weekend. Blessings...

    1. Just went to your blog to double check and no it would not let me leave a comment. What I mean is, it wouldn't even let me type a comment. Enjoyed your post and may I say you certainly were a pretty little girl, and you still have that lovely smile and twinkle in your eyes from your youth :)
I am a bit concerned about spills, but keeping it on a shelf all the time is not enjoying it . . . so I'm taking the risk, LOL

    2. Sometimes it is worth the risk to enjoy things a bit more. You can always put a placemat over the place where you are eating. Kind of like never using the good wedding china...what's the purpose of it if we never use it? I tended to not use mine because it can't go in the dishwasher, but now I don't even have a dishwasher, so what's my excuse??? LOL. It can't go in the microwave either. Good golly Miss Molly, it will be 54 years old next month!! It needs to be used more often than just Christmas and Thanksgiving and maybe Easter (although we often end up using paper plates, depending on what we have to eat and how many people are here!) Thank you for letting me know about the comment. I don't know what to do about it. Wish I knew...

  4. Connie, That quilt is very pretty. Yes, use the things you have made. I think of using things in different way too. It would also make a nice throw . Glad you had a nice tomato. It was big enough to top off a salad. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

Who is going to want my treasures when I'm gone? Young people have different tastes in furnishings so I better start enjoying them. Who knows they could end up in a thrift store days after I leave this earth.

  6. Your quilt is "crazy beautiful"!!! Love the colors in your beautiful white kitchen with the pops of blue and red! It's so perfect with the flowers and red checkered mat.... Oh how I do love your kitchen.. and the shelf in the background holding all of your canned goods! As you said, a quilt should be used... and most "spills" would wash out more than likely.. I only have one quilt I've actually made totally, and I do get it out and use it now and then.. hum.m.m. wonder how it would look on my table! It's HOT here today.. over 100 or maybe 102 by now.. so I'm staying in today working around the house. I have one wall that needs painting, so taking down all pictures, spackling the holes, and then will get the paint. Hubby used it to nail in cords and different TV indoor antennas.. and it's a mess! I like how you notifed me of your post, via email inbox! Hugs to you! stay cool!... Marilyn

    1. Hi Marilyn, it's hot here too, I can't stand being out for very long. Did manage to get two wheel borrows of garden leaves and weeds into the dumpster. I wouldn't have done it in this heat except tomorrow is the day I have to take my bin to the curb. They come around very early Monday morning to pick up the trash, earlier than I want to be out of bed, LOL. I think this quilt is so busy and so colorful that any stain would probably disappear into the prints anyway :)
Thanks so much for stopping by and have fun painting, it's going to make such a bright and cheerful change. I love painting!

  7. Keeping such a pretty quilt on a shelf would be depriving yourself of the enjoyment you get just looking at it when you walk into the kitchen. I think putting it on the table is a great idea. So what if you have to take it off for mealtime. It only takes a minute to put it back.
That little tomato is probably the first of many you'll enjoy in the months ahead. Have a blessed Sunday.

  10. Hi Connie! What a beautiful quilt and it fits in her pretty, pretty kitchen perfectly. I used to have zinnias in my garden in Spokane and I do miss having flowers. However, condo living is wonderful in every other way. I just got a text a few minutes ago from my friend in Spokane with a photo of her very first cherry tomato of the season too! It must be the day for cherry tomatoes in Washington. :-) When we were there last week, her plants were higher than the roof of the house!
I hope you have a blessed Sunday my friend.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

  12. What a lovely way to enjoy your quilt. It seems we often spend a lot of time making things and then leaving them "for good". Using the good dishes and the crystal glasses and other pretty things adds enjoyment to everyday life. Love the zinnias. I'm still waiting for mine to bloom. Have a good weekend!

I totally agree with you about using the "good stuff" and as I've aged enjoying those things more often feels almost like a luxury. (It's the way I was raised..) Anyway..the quilt is just perfect, the zinnias very pretty, and I really admire your color combinations. So cheerful!
