As the days start getting longer
I start thinking about gardening.
The weather is much too cold
to do anything yet
but I can plan and start
a few seeds inside.
to do a garden journal.
I haven't done one
in several years,
it is fun and it's a good way
to record what worked
and what didn't work.
I purchase some seeds
And I save some.
I'm cutting the size
of my garden way down this year.
Instead of rows I redid
the whole garden and made four
small beds leaving room
for a small fountain and a bench.
I did this last fall.
can you believe it I used
42 bags of beauty mulch!
Well that's what I've
been doing as I dream of Spring.
I love going out in the backyard
and picking fresh vegetables
and I love watching the process
from seed, to tiny sprout, to fruitful plant.
Consider the lilies of the field,
how they grow;
they neither toil nor spin,
yet I tell you,
not even Solomon in all his glory
was arrayed like one of these.

It's so wonderful to dream of Spring! We can't wait to see things start popping up. Right now everything is still under at least 6 inches of snow. I love your journal!
ReplyDeleteThank you Mari, the weather is so crazy this year, we haven't had any snow ( at least none that stuck to the ground and stayed . . . Just a few flurries. I actually got outside today and raked some of my winter leaves away.
DeleteWell in the meantime I love your watercolor garden, Connie! You are quite the srtist!
ReplyDeleteThat's just silly doodling, but thank you. It is fun 😊
DeleteThose seedlings will be ready before you know it...
ReplyDeleteI hope so, I had to replant my large yellow slicing tomatoes, I don't know why they didn't sprout like the little pear tomatoes did.
