Full Time Gardening

That's what August feels like . . .

Gardening all the time.

 Today's post is mostly photos.

Of course that includes harvesting . . .

And canning.

Also, baking for the freezer

and enjoying fresh meals

from the garden.

I also had a lovely visit

from my youngest

and may I say beautiful

granddaughter.

They're all beautiful :)

Look at these two sweet carrots . . .

One grew two arms just so it

could give the other one a

Big Hug!

Do you know someone that

could use a hug today?

Even a phone call that says,

"I Care"

Do it, it's a wonderful thing.

Until my next post . . .

remember to put God first.

God bless you all.

Your blogging sister,

Connie :)

I had it with butter, salt and pepper and roasted chicken on the side. Delish!

    1. It was lovely having her here for a few days, hated to see her leave. They grow up so fast. I started missing her the minute her and her Dad drove out of the driveway.

    1. Thank you for visiting and for leaving your sweet comment. This is a busy time of the year lots of harvesting and canning and next week is our county fair and rodeo. I praise God that I still have the good health and energy to do all the things I love and having a visit from Lucy was the Cherry on top of my weekend.

    1. Thank you for your kind words. I can't believe how fast these grandchildren grow up, seems like she was just a toddler a couple years ago.

  7. Just look at that beautiful bounty that the Lord has blessed you with Connie. The garden looks as if it's flourishing and you are certainly busy putting it away for the winter-time.
Your Granddaughter is very pretty and so are you. I'm glad you were able to spend time together. I know how precious that is.

    1. Thank you for your sweet comment. Actually the bread is not banana bread it is a new recipe that I found on Pinterest called, pina colada zucchini bread. It's delicious.

  11. Your garden is amazing Connie! What do you do with it all? It would be far too much for me to eat up even if I froze it! What a lovely granddaughter, may I say!

    1. You're right, there's no way I can use all that I grow. Therefore; I give a lot of it away to friends and I have my free stand out by the road where I put all the rest of my surplus. Cars pull in and take what they need and it's nice to be able to help folks out. A lot of people are too busy to garden or they just don't have a large enough space.

  13. Oh Connie, you DO indeed have "green" thumbs and green toes!!! How do you do it all? I'm just amazed! I have nowhere near the energy I used to. What is your secret to keep your body going?? I know, I know.. movement helps so much, but I do work in my yard alot and move and bend all the time, but still don't have the energy! Maybe it's eating all that fresh produce that does it for you??!!! It's beautiful, and looks so abundent. Did you also grow cantelopes? I've tried before but had no luck, and that was when I lived by Walla Walla, WA! Plus harvesting, you are also canning, freezing and baking! I so admire you!!!
I'm so glad you got the visit from your granddaughter. They BOTH need to come up for at least 2 weeks and help you with the harvet and canning. They would learn so much! Grandma should be the teacher of all the old ways. My grandmother and mom taught me all the ins and outs of canning and freezing... they also taught their grandsons and to this day, my one nephew loves to can things and remembers his grandma and great aunt for teaching him!
Your granddaughter is indeed so pretty.. and those smiles tell me what it's meant to have her there!
Sending hugs and lots more green thumbs! Oh.. and having the free product stand is such a great idea!
    Hugs... Marilyn
